Not the scrunchie's fault

"Hey, Kaesu. What's the deal with you hanging around my boyfriend lately?" Nadia approached me with a scowl on her face.

"We've just been chatting. No big deal." I calmly replied.

Alex and Lara are not around since we don't have the same schedule, and they are not done with their classes yet. So I think I'll have to face Nadia alone?

"Chatting, huh? More like flirting! You better back off before I make you regret it." Nadia said, full of sarcasm in her voice.

"Regret? Sounds like a threat. I'm not scared of you, Nadia."

"You should be. I won't hesitate to put you in your place."

"Is that so? Well, I'll be watching my back then. But don't expect me to back down just because you're throwing a tantrum."

What's with her girls raising an eyebrow at me with their fake laminated brows? Tsk!

"You think you're tough, huh? We'll see about that. Just remember, I've got my eye on you."

Oof. Did I provoke her?

"Whatever you say, Nadia. I'm not the one to be intimidated by empty threats." I nonchalantly replied. To be honest, they are not worth a single saliva, but since they are these attention seekers, then why not give them what they want?

One of her minions slapped me. Whoa! That hurts, I must admit. Since I landed on this place, I've been receiving a lot of pain lately. I licked my lower lip when I felt her nails dug intoit and my expectation was right, it was bleeding.

I was about to slap her back when a hand stopped me.

I looked at the person only to see Canim looking straight into my eyes without any reaction.

In exchange for 10 million, do you really have to do this to me? Why are you defending Nadia but asking me to help you? What kind of nonsense is this?

"Don't waste your effort on Nadia, it's not worth it."

I saw how Nadia dropped her jaw at what we had just heard. All of us didn't expect it.

"I thought-"

I couldn't continue what I was about to say when he pulled me closer to him by grabbing my waist and facing Nadia.

"How could you do this to me?"

"Stop it Nadia, and don't ever lay a finger on her, or you know better what will happen."

Nadia laughed like crazy, and it took her a minute before she composed herself. "You think this works? You can't make me stop just by this."

Her words give me chills, especially the way she quickly changed her facial expression in front of us.

She walked closer to me but Canim drew a line using his hand.

"Try to drag me down in any possible way, you know, I'll wait and see."

Before she turned around, she took a last glance at Canim.

"She's psychotic," I told Canim and walked away.

He followed me and asked me to go with him to his car.

I fell asleep during our trip to I don't know where and when I woke up it was already dark outside but there were cute little lights outside so I got out of the car and the cold wind hugged my skin. The sea breeze and the soothing sound of every wave crashing on the beach. I couldn't stop smiling and excitedly walked and followed the little bulb series until I reached the beach. I happily waded my feet in the water and could only giggle at what I was doing.

When I was satisfied, I went to a place where the waves wouldn't reach and sat on the sand, then fixed my hair and tied it because it was so messy and it was going to my face, so I just tied it.

I couldn't finish tying my hair because Canim suddenly took it from me and threw it into the water. I stood up in shock and faced him with a frown.

"What is your problem and you threw my scrunchie into the sea? You must have seen that I needed it."

The surroundings were dark but I could see the anger, confusion, and pain in his eyes so even I was confused by his reaction.

Why is everything a big deal for him? Even tying my hair is also an issue with him, does he also have a broken brain like Nadia?

"Don't tie your hair like that ever again. It doesn't suit you and it will never suit you because you're not her."

"What do you mean by 'not her'? Of course, I am me and I am not someone else! What are you talking about?"

I just shook my head and sat down on the sand while snorting.

Canim realized he had upset me with his thoughtless actions and he felt a wave of guilt wash over him, I can see it. As we sat together at the beach, the sound of the crashing waves provided a somber backdrop to the tense silence. Finally, Canim mustered up the courage to speak.

"I'm sorry, Keasu," he began, his voice heavy with regret. "I didn't mean to upset you. I was foolish and thoughtless, and now I see the error of my ways."

I turned to look at Canim, my eyes filled with a mixture of hurt and disappointment. "It's not just about the scrunchie, Canim. It's about respect and consideration for my feelings."

Canim nodded solemnly. "I understand and I promise to do better in the future."

As we made our way back to the house, the tension between us was palpable.

When we reached my house, I bid goodbye to him without even looking at his face and the moment I opened the door, I froze in surprise at the sight of Antonio lying on the couch, looking exhausted. I hesitated, unsure of what to do.

"I don't want to disturb him," I whispered.

But as I continued to stare at Antonio, my gaze lingering longer than intended, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in my chest.

The air grew heavy with unspoken thoughts and emotions, the room filled with a sense of foreboding.

"How long will you stare at me?"
