King's Garden

Loretta was sure the person sitting gallantly across the table was the man he saw in the garden a few weeks ago but she composed herself immediately and head to give the files in her hands to her boss.

Kendrick on the other hand happens to be quite surprised and impressed to meet her again. He thought he was never going to see her again because he had gone back to the garden the following week just in case she will be there but she wasn't

The meeting commenced and everyone participated as they should.

All along Kendrick seems to be engrossed in the ongoing meeting but the truth is, he was only concentrating on Loretta without anyone noticing.

40minutes later.

The meeting came to an end and everyone was delighted that finally, they had sealed the contract.

Everyone shook hands with Kendrick Roberts and others left excluding Loretta and her boss Mr. Diego.

Mr. Kendrick, we're so happy having you on this journey" Mr. Diego said after shaking hands with him"

I'm honored" he replied calmly"

Forgive my manners, this is Loretta Wayne, she's our human resource assistant executive. She'll be responsible for sending across to you all the vital information you'll need to know anytime.

Alright. Nice to meet you Miss Loretta" Kendrick stretched forth his hands for a handshake"

It's my pleasure" she shook his hand"

I'll be on my way now, I have some other important things to do at the office" Kendrick said calmly"

Okay. Do have a nice day ahead" Mr. Diego greeted as they all left the board room"

Afterward, the rest of the day went as usual.

Loretta was supposed to send some documents to Mr. Kendrick's mail, she did that immediately after she got home.

The following day...

While Lorreta was preparing for the office, Laureen called.

Hello babygirl" Lauren said excitedly"

Good morning babe.

How are you? Loretta asked

I'm okay. Babe, I'll be coming over this weekend.

Be serious. Are you for real? Loretta asked because she knows her to be a clown sometimes.

Yes, Babe. I'm serious.

Waoooow, I can't wait" Loretta said dancing around the room"

That'sright girl" Laureen said"

Guess what??"Loretta asked"

Do you remember the guy I told you about a few weeks ago that I saw in the garden?? Lorreta asked

Yeah, I can. What happened??

He was at my office yesterday" Loretta said"

You can't be serious" Lauren exclaimed"

Babe, I'm running late for work. I'll give you the full details when you're back" Loretta said because she knows Lauren too well"

She disconnected the call and hurriedly finish her makeup.

Loretta got to the office looking all Peng and beautiful.

Good morning Stephanie" Loretta greeted"

Good morning lore. You look stunning as always" Stephanie complimented her"

Everyone in that organization knows Loretta because of her beauty and her charisma. She's very easygoing and gets along with practically everyone.

By 11 am, the HR manager sent for Loretta.

Sir, you sent for me" Lauretta said immediately as she stepped inside his office"

Yes, miss Wayne. Please have your seat.

Okay, sir.

Here, I want you to work on this file. I want it sorted out with immediate effect. 

Okay sir" she collected the file from him"

That reminds me. 

Set up a meeting with Mr. Kendrick Robert. We need to brief him on the new development of the project. 

Okay, sir. 

Do that now and get to know his schedule and when he will be available.

Okay, sir.

That will be all miss Wayne.

Alright, sir. 

She stood up and left the office.

Immediately she got to her office, she sent him a mail to which he replied immediately by confirming his availability by 3 pm.

She sent him the brief and all that he needs to know before the meeting.

By 3 pm, She left the office for the meeting venue, and again, he beats her expectation.

He was already there waiting for her.

Good afternoon Mr. Kendrick" she greeted him politely"

Good afternoon Miss Wayne.

Sorry for keeping you waiting" Loretta apologized"

No, you didn't." He replied"

I'll get straight to the point. The project has taken a new dimension and you deserve to know about it.

She explained every detail to him while he kept staring at her passionately.

That will be all for now" she said"

Alright. I'm okay with all the new development" he replied politely"

Excuse me??" She asked not sure of what she heard"

King's garden, a few weeks ago.

She picked a paper from her bag and gave it to him as a means of contact.

They both departed.

It was almost Loretta's closing hour so instead of going back to the office, rather she drove home and sent his boss the outcome of the meeting via mail.

Loretta was expecting a call from Mr. Kendrick but he didn't.

Loretta wanted to call him but after so much thought she decided not to. She doesn't want to look like she's cheap or desperate.

The rest of the week ran out and it's Friday already. She decided to stop by the supermarket to get groceries.

While she was picking up her groceries, she met this young handsome man trying to pick up groceries too.

Loretta noticed he was having trouble finding some items.

Can I be of help??" She asked the confused man"

I'll be glad" he said with a look that depicts appreciation"

What do you want?? She asked him.

I want to get groceries for a friend that is hospitalized. I don't know exactly what to get her.

Oh, okay.

She helped him pick a few things while he followed behind with the wheel.

If you're finding this hard then who has been doing this for you? Loretta asked

Well, I have someone who does this for me just that she's not around at the moment" he explained"

Oh, I see.

They both shopped and returned to pay for what they've bought.

Please let me do that" he said calmly when Loretta stretched forth her card to the cashier.

No, you don't have to" she replied"

Please. Is just a little way of saying thank you for the help you rendered me.

When Loretta noticed he wasn't going to back down, she obliged.

Thank you" she said calmly"

No, I should be the one saying thank you" he smiled"

He paid and they both left the store.

Thank you for coming to my rescue in there." He smiled"

That wasn't much of a big deal" she smiled"

By the way, my name is Roy Albert" he said stretching his hand for a handshake"

Loretta Wayne" they shook hands"

Okay. She replied collecting his phone from him. She typed in her number and they parted ways.

She got home only to meet her door was unlocked.

At first, she was scared not until she met the crazy fellow laying on the couch watching TV.

Laureen?? Loretta called out.

Yes baby" she rushed from the couch to hug her"

When did you get here young lady? she asked her crazy friend.

A few hours ago. I deliberately didn't call you because I wanted to surprise you and guess what?? She asked

What??

I made your favorite" she smiled.

Laureen"Lauretta called not believing what she said"

Okay. You just go inside and freshen up and come and eat. I know you must be so famished" she said"

You're a life saver. Thank you" she perked Lauren and made her way to the bedroom.

She just finished freshening up, when her phone starts to ring. 

It was then she realized her phone was still in her bag.

She picked it up and a charming smile spread across her face.
