Chapter Fourteen: Unyielding desire.

Ji-Eun stood at the edge of the bustling Seoul street, her heart pounding with a mix of determination and desperation. The cool evening breeze played with her hair, but nothing could cool the fire in her eyes. Min Jun had been everything to her, and she wasn't ready to let go of the man she believed was hers.

She knew where he was—always so predictable, with his routine and habits. That café near his office, the one he frequented after a long day of work. Ji-Eun clutched her phone, a plan forming in her mind. She would start with subtlety, but if that failed, she was prepared to go further.

Minutes later, she was there, standing outside the café, peering through the glass window. Min Jun was sitting by the window, his eyes focused on his laptop, completely unaware of the storm brewing just outside. Ji-Eun's heart skipped a beat at the sight of him. He was as handsome as ever, his features softened by the warm café lights.

She took a deep breath and entered, her heels clicking on the wooden floor. Heads turned, but Ji-Eun's gaze was fixed only on Min Jun. When she reached his table, he looked up, surprised.

."Ji-Eun?" he asked, his voice tinged with confusion.

"Min Jun," she smiled, trying to keep her voice light. "I was in the area and saw you through the window. Mind if I join you?

"Min Jun hesitated, clearly uncomfortable. "I'm actually in the middle of something…

""Oh, it's just for a moment," Ji-Eun said, sliding into the seat across from him without waiting for his permission. "It's been a while. I miss our conversations.

."Min Jun sighed, closing his laptop. "Ji-Eun, we've talked about this. Things have changed.

"Ji-Eun leaned forward, her voice dropping to a whisper. "But have they really? We were so good together, Min Jun. We understood each other. Don't you remember how happy we were?

"Min Jun frowned, his eyes hardening. "That was a long time ago. I've moved on, and you should too.

"Ji-Eun's smile faltered, but she quickly regained her composure. "Moved on? With that dancer, Lee Soo Jeon? I've seen her, Min Jun. She's not right for you. She can't give you what I can.

."Min Jun's jaw tightened. "That's not for you to decide. I care about Soo Jeon, and what we have is real.

"A flash of anger crossed Ji-Eun's face, but she quickly masked it with a sweet smile. "Maybe you're right. Maybe I'm just holding on to the past. But, Min Jun, I still want the best for you. Let's have dinner, just as friends. We can talk things through. For old times' sake?

"Min Jun hesitated, sensing the trap. He knew Ji-Eun too well; she wasn't one to give up easily. "I don't think that's a good idea.

."Ji-Eun leaned back, crossing her arms. "Are you afraid, Min Jun? Afraid that if you spend time with me, you'll remember what we had?

"Min Jun stared at her, conflicted. There was a time when Ji-Eun had been his world, but that time had passed. Yet, her words struck a chord, awakening memories he thought he had buried.

He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. "I'm not afraid. I just don't think it's right.

"Ji-Eun smiled knowingly. "I'll take that as a yes then. I'll send you the details.

."Before Min Jun could protest, Ji-Eun stood up, her confidence restored. "I'll see you soon, Min Jun.

"As she walked out of the café, Ji-Eun felt a surge of victory. She had planted a seed of doubt, and she knew how to nurture it. No matter what it took, she would find a way to win him back.

Min Jun watched her leave, a sense of unease settling in his chest. He knew he should stay away, but something told him that this wasn't the last he would see of Ji-Eun.
