Chapter 4 – The Red Scarlet Army

Meanwhile, at a neighborhood in the city of Yokohama, in an office inside a building, a young man with white hair and pure red eyes was looking at the glass window while drinking his glass of strawberry juice thinking about his life as leader of the neutral Red Scarlet Army. He was also thinking about getting more new recruits as well. That young man is Yeager Ray.

Then, Clare Maharlika, the second in command, came to his office to report to him that one of the squads in her command had just recently exterminated one of the beasts of the apocalypse.

Upon hearing that, Yeager turned around and responded, "Good job, Clare-chan. Your squad may take a rest."

"Thank you so much, Yeager-san," Clara responded with gratitude while bowing her head a bit, before leaving the office.

Not long after, Yeager was walking down the corridor of his academy when two of his men came and gave a report to him about their recent findings on a young student of the Imperial Demon Army. And that young student they had been spying on is actually Atsushi Ikari, the childhood friend of Yuichiro Hyakuya.

"Oh, so he's in the vampire extermination unit now?" Yeager asked them.

"Yes, sir," one of his men responded. "I don't think they, the Imperial Demon Army, would conduct experiments on him."

"I don't want to let that happen either," Yeager replied back while thinking a bit. "We need more recruits."

"Do we really need that many?" the second man asked.

"I don't want them ended up as lab rats for their experiments," Yeager seriously explained. "We must do something about it."

"You mean, we should disrupt their annual recruitment?" the first man asked back.

"Not entirely," Yeager responded. "We must save most of them before it's too late."

He then lean against the wall and started thinking, continuing, "And I think Atsushi Ikari would be a good fit. Do you two saw his behavior while walking to school?"

The second man then nodded. "Yes, he was thinking while walking."

"That's odd," Yeager responded. "He should be serious about being recruited into the Imperial Demon Army."

"Sir, I think it wasn't the case," the first man replied back. "I think he was thinking about joining us."

"Might be plausible," Yeager replied in partial agreement. "Recently, I was interested in him. Go and continue your monitoring on him."

"Right, sir," the two men responded in obedience, before turning around and walked away.

With that, Yeager continued walking down the corridor, while putting his hands in his back. But, the thoughts about Atsushi Ikari can't leave his head.

But, what was his true intentions to Atsushi?
