Protagonist-type Luck

Jax went back and cleared all the notifications he didn't need, leaving him with 3.

"Lets start with the level 10 gift." Jax quickly opened it, but instead of something coming out, he was sucked in leaving a dancing present in his place.

"Oh so that's how it works!" Succie was curious about the dancing gift as her and her ex-friends had opened the gifts at the same time, so no one really knew what happened to them.

In the gift, Jax had been pulled back to the dark and empty subspace where he had first made his character. He didn't get a chance to look around since he was in a rush to make his character, but it really did look like he was in space but he could feel defined walls when he ran his hand along the room.

After a bit of time, a bunch of glowing cards lit up the center of the room. They were blinding, but Jax slowly adjusted his eyes as he saw what looked like 4 different decks of cards shuffling themselves with the backs facing him. When he walked to the other side of the room, the backs of the cards followed him, telling him he couldn't peek.

He assumed the 4 different decks were meant for each of the items he would receive. After looking for a while, he noticed that each of the decks had different designs that correlated to what they were. There was a chest plate on the armor deck, two swords crossing for the weapon deck, a necklace with a bow in the center of the chain for cosmetics, and a question mark for the mystery item.

He wished this process was quicker as he was getting tired of waiting yet the decks kept shuffling. Eventually, he went and hit them in hopes of getting them to stop. He had touched the weapon one and the shuffling slowed down to a stop to reveal the face of the card.

"I'm stupid." Jax was impatient yet he didn't even think that he would be the one to stop it. When the face was fully over, he saw a picture of another flintlock pistol that was also outlined in green.

"Another uncommon huh, I'm sure most players would love this, but if it isn't better than the two I have now, it's not worth it, I'd rather just sell it." He stuck his hand out towards the card, and it rippled as his hand passed through it. He felt something on the other side and grabbed it, pulling it out.

[Uncommon Flintlock Pistol]

[Attack - 50]

[Reload time - 15 seconds]

[extra effect - bleed - deal 1% of the enemy's current health every 3 seconds, for a max of 15 seconds. Can be cured using status ailment skills, spells and potions.]

"This is actually pretty good." Although Jax liked the crits more, it was still a good gun. It would fetch a pretty penny, but he decided to hold onto it since it would be more beneficial to swap in the gun if he was in a long drawn-out battle like the Hobgoblin fight. "This'll make boss fights much easier for me. I'll be doing damage, and still get a low cooldown if I equip the cooldown pistol. Or I could even pair the crit and bleed guns to try and get a crit bleed effect."

Jax started mumbling different strategies he could use before he moved on to the armor. He stopped it, and stuck his hand in the card before pulling out leather armor that also had a green glow to it.

[Uncommon Hunter's Vest]

[Defense - 20]

[extra effect - Ambush - Being unseen for 10 seconds caused your next attack to deal 50% more damage]

"Oooo I like this!" Jax's eyes glowed like a kid in a candy shop. He was getting some good stuff. He didn't know exactly what other top players got but he assumed he would get at least one uncommon item, maybe more.

He moved on to the cosmetic, he didn't care so much about this one, as it had the most potential for being the least useful. He quickly stopped it and pulled out another item.

[Pirate's Bandana - Uncommon]

[extra effect 1 - covering your face with the bandana conceals your character, making analysis and other revealing spells ineffective.]

[extra effect 2 - wearing the bandana on your head gives you the skill {Hawkeye}]

{Hawkeye - gives you the vision of a hawk, increasing your sight range by 60%}

"Oh wow! Is this for real?!" Jax's luck was off the charts for this Gacha mini-game. He wasn't expecting much out of this but ended up with 3 uncommon items, and it was from the categories he didn't want or need.

"I'll be pretty disappointed if my mystery item ends up garbage, I put most of my hopes in it." He chuckled to himself, not wasting any more time. He went into the card and tried to grab something but didn't hit anything. He was confused and waved his hand around in there before he got a notification.

[Subclass change - Unique]

Jax blinked a couple of times and rubbed his eyes. He even gave himself a little pinch to make sure he was seeing this right.

"How the heck can I get a subclass change? That doesn't even unlock until level 20!" This was a ridiculously good item, but that depended on if he could actually use it now. He decided to try it anyway, if it didn't work, the system would tell him and he would probably have to wait until level 20 to use it.

[You have used the {Subclass change - Unique} You will now gain a new subclass! You cannot remove or change this subclass under any circumstances.]

[Congratulations! You have unlocked the subclass system! Check here for more details!]

"Well it worked, but I can't change it? Hopefully, it's good then." Jax went to his system interface to find a new section under his class called "subclass." In it, it showed his new and permanent subclass.

[Successor of the Pirate King Flint Dreadbeard - Unique]

[Pirate King Dreadbeard was a demon among men. He sought infamy and fortune through theft and death. He was the creator of the Flintlock pistol and the King of Dread Cove, the birthplace of pirating. He was a friend to criminals and a lover of prostitutes. Eons have passed and he has now chosen you as his successor. He wishes for you to use his power to stand on top of the world, by any means necessary. He implores you to enjoy your power and love your life as he did, even in the face of betrayal and humiliation. Will you become the king of the world or sink down to Davey Jones' Locker?]
