Power of Faith pt.1: Dangerous Ideals

A/N: The next two chapters are gonna be a bit of an info dump. This one is more of a background on new characters while the next one is them working in game. If you're gonna skip any of these "religious" chapters as I'm calling it, skip this one. It is just background. Of course I don't recommend it but you do you. I know some people don't like to talk about religion.

In the easy city of Yexir, was the temporary headquarters of the religious guild that Jax had learned about.

Since they could not officially create guilds until they reached the capitol where the King of their kingdom would approve or disapprove of founding a guild, they could only rent out small buildings to use as meeting rooms for the higher ups.

In one such meeting room, a man still donning his heavy armor was sat behind a wooden desk with a stack of papers on them. This was the temporary Guildmaster's office and Jacob Hollander was his name.

He had blonde medium length hair, like a prince from a fairytale, with hazel eyes and sharp facial features. He was only 19, yet he was already running one of the biggest guilds in the game. They had almost 10,000 members, which exceeded their initial predictions by 10 times.

Although churches got huge funding each year, he did not, as he was only a normal member of his church. This made being a guild master very stressful for him.

People who join a guild expect to be paid a salary, as that is what most of the top guilds do to get people onto their side. Jacob did not have the funds to keep these people in his guild.

Most just thought of it as any other guild. Even though they advertised being religious, most were common players who maybe went to church once a month or they joined to be with friends.

He didn't mind those people, since his initial goal was to spread his ideals. Dangerous ones.

His father was a cardinal for the Catholic Church. He was considered to be lucky to have such an amazing father, but sometimes he questioned that. His father never spent his free time with his son, and his life always revolves around work.

Sometimes he even sleep talked and would mumble bible verses. He didn't mind this behavior of his father, in fact he admired him. But that loss of companionship made he seek out other ways of forming bonds.

He went to many youth gatherings and parties, eventually realizing that there was a flaw with the Catholic Church.

There was a huge disconnect between its followers and the clergymen and neither side seemed to want to make any progress in mending those bonds.

With that, his faith fell as he learned more of the politics that go on in the background. It was around this time he met someone who became a blood brother.

His name was Mohammad Ahmed, and he traveled to the city of Serene from the Middle East to find his calling.

Mohammad had heard of the "center of the world" where all kinds of people and cultures mixed together and came in search of finding his faith again.

The two had met by chance, but after hearing of their own similar struggles, they became quick friends.

They played video games together and learned about each other's faiths. They were both open and understanding, unlike many of the big wigs within their own churches or mosques.

Then one day after losing themselves to a bit of wine, they came up with an idea. A potentially very dangerous one.

They said, "Why not combine all the religions into one?" It was a simple thought but after talking about it sober more and more, they realized how powerful their idea could become.

Over time they met and talked with people of similar mindsets. They also wished for a more peaceful world for religious beliefs. There was too much scheming behind the curtains and each religion was always at the throat of another.

They eventually decided that Sentinel's Rising was their best bet in spreading their ideals. It was a new world where most of the older generations weren't, and they could bring in new, younger minds to help them develop their "Super Religion" as they jokingly called it.

Both Jacob and Muhammad knew they were playing with fire, but they were both ambitious young men. They wouldn't let a few threats stop them from changing the world for the better.

They believed they were doing the right thing, even if it meant the whole world turning on them in the end. They would still go down together.

Bit of a short chapter for background. Had to split the original chapter up since it was too long.
