Chapter 316

"But how do you get to know that Kent was in town because he said he didn't tell anyone about his arrival.How …?"Kent questioned looking surprised

Kent, who had a cold face, immediately glared at the old man. When the hell did he discuss such a thing with him? He never said anything like that. Except if Adams the blabber mouth had spilled out something.

"If you had picked up your cell phone, like those smart brains do pick them up, you would have known and gotten all the answers to these questions. Presently I have no answer for you" Lily said coldly, he didn't have to see her physically now, he knew very well that she would he prouting like a child, a two years old to be precise. Hearing the silence at the other end, sure enough, she had rendered her husband speechless. He wouldn't have anything to say in his defense."Goodbye see you when I return."She continued.

(Call ends, Lily immediately hang up the call without waiting to hear a word from him)

"You mean grandma made preparations for us," Adams said, smiling brightly.

"The last time I checked she is Kent's grandmother not us" Joey said rolling his eyes at him. Sometimes Adams' case gets so confusing that being a famous lawyer nobody could compete with him. Now one would be able to tell if he was a talkative or a foodie.

(Speechless) "What's it you guys? Calm down. Everyone knows she's also my grandmother as well. I had called her grandma too when I was little" he said in a defensive way.

"What a filial grandson " Joey said with disdain 

"Don't flatter me too much, I learnt my filial piety from Kent"

"I have no idea.Your Grandma kept saying 'if I had picked up the cell..I'll have answers to my questions'.That is so unfair. She also said it wouldn't be a surprise if I picked up my cell phone like smart people do. ``It seems I ain't smart at all Seems she's trying to let me know where the fault is from," the old man said with a long sigh.

"Is it just me? Has anyone noticed that the old man had been talking nonstop? Just by our arrival he has said more than a million words" Adams said whispering to Kent who was beside him, though he knew he wouldn't get an answer from the iceberg but he couldn't help but ask anyway.

"It's not only you, the old man has been the one making conversation. He has indeed said a million word" Kent replied this shocked Adams. He wasn't expecting to get an answer for such a question from the almighty Lark Kent. Anyways since the old man is ready to take forever talking,bthen he Adams had no problems, he would surely be of help to the old man by talking as well.

"Umm..Grandpa ..you can see that you are at fault right now. You're just getting mad at her over nothing. " Adams chipped in, this side of the old man made not to be so scared of him. The Old man was showing a different side which was kind, calm and also collected.

"She's right you know.. if you had pick up the cell you would have gotten answers to all your question by now and you won't have to ask her also wondered why such operation took place if you had the answers to the questions yourself" he continued 

"If I pick up my cell,if I pick up my cell" the old man muttered. (Pauses for a second) "what's up with that?"

Everyone on the table except Adams and the old man focused on their hot delicious meals. They didn't want their meals to get cold neither do they want to participate in such a discussion.

"Grandpa… let me tell you what's up with that. If you really know what is up with that..you won't have any questions."Adams replied

"Now… let me justify it between the both of you. The colour of a problem is red" Adams replied looking serious but he never meant, what he was saying he held in his laughter and spoke out freely, this was a rare opportunity to have the old man within his thinking box so there was no harm playing around with him a little. 

"Meaning…?"

"Grandpa..it is noting more than you being at fault"Adams replied

Everyone could tell that Adams was twisting his words and having fun but the old man had no idea at all. Through out the discussion Adams kept a very serious look on his face. Adams kept repeating the same words using the same logic but the old man didn't notice a thing and no one was willing to tell him.

Hearing that.. Grandpa remained silent.He could tell the direction Adams was heading for 

"Ok,ok,ok I could only see it now after she explained it all..I am at fault."He admitted in a moody tone.

Hearing him admit his fault..the room for convincing him became broad.They were all in and ready for suggestions and also..to find ways of ending the quarrel between the both of them.

(Clears throat)

"Grandpa,you shouldn't stress your mind right now..It's gonna be ok" strings said trying to make grandpa feel good again

"Saying that isn't enough Strings..I guess the best thing to do now ..I mean right now.. is to call Granny and apologize to her else she will remain mad at you" Adams suggested

(Nods)

"I think Adams is right,apologize to her no more antidote than this will clear up the quarrel and bring you peace" Joey contributed

Kent had this frown all through,One couldn't detect what his present mood was.

String had placed his elbow on the dining table with his hands on his jaw while he maintained silence yet kept staring at them all it seems he had something in mind he wanted to talk about but waited for them to finish talking while Lee on the other hand continued eating and never mind what everyone were discussing about.The discussion kept flowing among Grandpa,Adams,Joey and Kent.

"Grandpa..tell me..do you know how it feels to get mad at someone when you are at fault? Even if you never got to know you were at fault on time? "

"(Nods) I don't"

"Ok..Can you also tell how it feels when someone is mad at you yet you are mad at him and no one was in for apology not even after you discovered the fault were all yours

?"

"I can't"

"Ok.. I can tell that granny is very much angry right now because it was never her fault."

"Ok…"

"If I may contribute…Apologize to your dearest wife.This is no suggestion"Strings said.It seems his silence earlier had weighty stuff in it which he was planning to bring down.

 "You don't have to think much about it . Just call to apologise"Kent said, the game was becoming so fun, everyone decided to join on for more fun. If you knew who the old man was before, you wouldn't like to mess with such an opportunity. One would choose to have fun to it's maximum since it's a golden opportunity, once in a lifetime.

While everyone contributed their view about the issue on ground..Grandpa went deep in thought. He could actually tell that Lily was unhappy from the way she spoke which wasn't pleasing to him.

She wasn't happy at all. He knows his wife to be a very loving and romantic wife who will call him sweet names day and night before she passes any of her messages to him. But this time..she behaved differently and went straight to the point without any touch of Love with no pleasantries at all.He felt this so badly within.For the first time he could feel this way.The strange feeling wasn't nice to him at all.

"You all should know that no one can settle this for them.We can only give an advice that they will choose to carry out or not.if not the both of you..no one can settle this"Lee said.

It seems like it was high time Lee contributed after being quiet for so long.

"Of course..not even your grand children.Only two people are involved and only two people can solve it.That could only be you and Lily"Joey replied

Grandpa had this sad look on his face looking singly at Kent and his friends.He became moody,he was actually out of ideas and what to do to make it up to Lily.He felt bad that he didn't think things through yet he was mad at her when it was never her fault even though he couldn't think things through properly as to who was at fault or not. All he considered then was the mood in which Lily displayed at the training field where she angrily left with Sammy and sam without telling him where they were off to which made him mad at her including the preparation in which she never made mention of. He kept wondering what her present state will be like ,how she will feel..what she would be doing...and then…decided to do as Kent and friends has suggested

(Calling)

(Ringing)

Lily on the other hand had left the dining room to assist Sam with the dishes so as to finish up on time before Sammy woke up.She left to the kitchen leaving her cell phone at the dining room not minding if he could call or not knowing that she had passed the message to him. She wasn't actually starving, when they were in the vehicle she , Sam and the driver had the hot meal she had microwaved but Sammy was different, he hadn't eaten anything yet. She wanted her grandson to start off with a very good meal, which would give him a good appetite and a lot of strength as well.

Lily walked out of the dining room being absent minded. She forgot to slide back the glass door. The glass door made the dining room so soundproof, so no one in the sitting room could hear a thing. She was such in a hurry that she didn't take this little detail into consideration.

While grandpa called…the phone rang waking Sammy up with its loud tune. Sammy woke up and then walked up to the dining room to pick up the phone. Looking into the cell..he saw it was grandpa calling, he was happy. He had just dreamt about the old man, he had won the old man in a fight and had given him a good beating. Sammy's Brain was still asleep that he didn't notice he was in a totally different place, maybe it was due to the fact that the place was more like his home.

He couldn't run to give the phone to granny because he never knew where she was off to.With a smile on his face..he picked up the call.

"You don't have to be mad at me for so long" grandpa said

These were the first words grandpa spoke after picking up the call.

"(Smiles) Oh it seems like the two old lovebirds are about to reconcile "Sammy said within him.His brain hasn't figured out the absence of Sam and granny and also the distance he had walked from the Sitting room.

"But..where has granny gone leaving her cell phone here at the dining?She wouldn't have gone far then. And then..where is Sam?" Sammy questions himself. He had no idea of where granny and Sam had gone. He became absent minded, the brains were beginning to come back to life.

Rather than leaving grandpa all alone on the cell.. he hung up without saying a word to him. Now everything was back to normal, Sammy's Brain was finally awake, he looked at the strange environment and was marvelled. It seems they had stopped to have some quality rest. He could easily find his way around here, it was very similar to his grandmother's parents' home. The design was frighteningly similar , he could easily mistake this place for theirs.

He couldn't go searching for them while the call was ongoing, so he had no choice than to hang up. It would look weird and also he never wanted to say a word. He thiuy about playing with him but on a second thought after his brain and mind had awoken, he felt it wasn't the right time.

Sammy knew there was no one at the dining room because he could see for himself and felt no one's presence nor saw anyone there which meant there was no one at the dining room.

Grandpa would feel bad hearing it was Sammy and would also think the old lady angrily asked him to pick it up. Probably not in the mood to speak to him.He had to avoid that to help reunite them again.

Checking around in search of granny and Sam. He then walks towards the kitchen to check for them knowing that, the kitchen will be the next place to look out for them if they were neither in the sitting room nor in the dining room. Of course,both of them cannot be in the bathroom and it won't be nice going to check for them there before heading to the kitchen.

From the nice aroma he was perceiving, he quickly found his way to the kitchen.

"There is a very pleasant aroma eloping from the kitchen,I think I should check there first"He said to himself, increasing his pace.

Reaching the kitchen.. he met them preparing towards making dinner which produced a smile on his face and then got him surprised at the same time,he was quite hungry. Quite is actually an understatement, he was ravenous.

"It seems something good is popping out here , what did I miss?" Sammy said resting his body on the door frame, he had almost forgotten the reason for which he came, he immediately remembered (smiles)" by the way..that's not why I'm here"Sammy said moving his hands with a finger pointing in an empty direction.

"Sammy, you are awake already?"

(Nods)"Yes grandma all thanks to this" he said raising her cell phone up in the air

Though she didn't actually understand his point, she apologized with a warm look on her face. "Darling hope you had enough sleep?"

"I think I did, but can't tell how I fell asleep in the first place," he said, running his right hand through his hair. When he was done with this process he shook his hair side by side. "So grandma what's cooking"

"(Smiles) It is for a good cause.We decided to prepare dinner. I Am hungry too you know"Granny replied

"Well..Granny.. grandpa just called

 His call was actually what woke me up.Since I couldn't find you at that moment,I picked the call"

"Oh, that's ok darling, granny is so sorry to have woken you up " she said sadly. Now she remembered, she hadn't closed the door 

"It's okay granny, I had enough sleep and from what he said I guess something good is coming up for the two old lovebirds"Sammy continued with a silly smile on his face

"Tell me, what did he say to you?" Lily said, washing her hands in the water basin. When she was done she wiped it off with a kitchen hand towel. Though she was curious to know what her husband had said.
