Chapter 243

"He He He it's been ages my old friend. I thought you were long dead" The old man said walking up to meet Blaine. Seeing the confused looks he had on his face he understood that Blaine didn't recognize who he is, he didn't get hurt by this instead his face was filled with smiles. He was happy seeing the old man and that was all that matters.

"I think I have gotten too old, I don't remember having any memories of you" The old man said with a smile

(Laughs)" Just as expected, your words are always terrible. You would have least given me the chance to introduce myself then we would know if you have a memory of me or not."

(Smiles) " I am listening " The Old man was convinced now that the person before him was someone who knew him. But the surprising part of it all was that he had no such memories.

"Thanks for the opportunity, you drafted 44 acupuncture needles specially for me, does that ring a bell?"

"Should I go round my memories thinking about those I made Acupuncture Needles for?" He asked

"Speechless ", "Then you had said I was the only one you've made those needles for"he said sounding surprised

"It seems you had a very bad hearing, don't you have a name? " The old man said sounding impatient, he didn't like the fact that the old fellow was beating around the bush

"Elyrex"

"What did you say?" 

"Elyrex that's my name. My name is Elyrex " He said shedding tears from Blaine's reaction now, he knew he had an idea of who he is now.

"Elyrex…??? You are Elyrex?"

"Yes I am"

Blaine was very shocked to hear this, he couldn't believe his eyes and he also felt his ears were falling on him. Elyrex was none other than his childhood friend, they had learnt under the same master. They were best friends, the right word to use as a description on the type of relationship to share is that, they were like brothers.

These two men had gone through many things together and had also solved many cases. After the whole process of the war, bity men had decided to go on seclusion together but something unexpected happened and they both disappeared. According to their findings this happened because they had gone through a strong mirror formation, which they couldn't break through. This separated them away from themselves and since then they've lost contact. But during the past events, both friends had gotten into a terrible fight with themselves which almost cost them their lives.

"You still haven't changed the habit of being a cry baby. Even though you are old you still cry like a child"

(Elyrex immediately wiped off his tears) " I am really sorry for what had happened in the past"

"I forgive you, it made me stronger than anything else. What brings you here? It seems you have already met my family?"

"Your family? They are your family?"

"Yes, the lady over there is my daughter and those are my granddaughters, I have three of them. I shouldn't explain too much because you know better"

"That's……"

"You can call her Teresa that's her maiden name"

"So if that's your daughter then that must be…."

"Clara,"

"Ummm, there's so many changes. That's the problem with living in the human realm for so long. I kind of prefer their first names, it has more dignity and power in it. So by the name Clara she must be the one who got married to a human. Ken Sworn Sister right?"

"Yes that her, you've been in the demon realm you should know better than Anyone else "

"Okay, I remember, you don't have to bring in the past. We would go with the flow little and steady. So those three little girls are now those grown women?" He asked, sounding very surprised. 

"Yes"

"Elena, Elyx, Elise" He called out their name

"Yeah, that's them over there, the only difference is they bear different names now. That is Roselle, Lylic and Selom, '' He said, pointing at each of them individually.

"Owh, I don't find that surprising, you don't have to explain, I understand. So what do they call you now?"

"My kids?"Blaine asked

"The world" Elyrex replied 

"I told you this, I only work for two people and that's myself and …."

"My family.." Elyrex interrupted , he didn't have to wait for Blaine to finish his sentence, this was a very old sentence he was used to, it has been that way since they were kids.

"Good, Thank God you know that. So tell me what brings you over ?"

"How did your granddaughter get pregnant? You used to be someone who was always protective. What happened?"

"She's my Grand daughter for sure but she's also Ken's girl" 

"Speechless," "What a caring grandfather you are, you need to be given an award. One of your granddaughters is pregnant and you didn't care to find the man involved or is she married already?"

"Should I tie you to a wheel?" He said glaring at him.

(Shivering) "we just got back after a thousand years, why would you want to do that? Be lenient, just be lenient with me. Has it really been a thousand years?" 

"Did you present it to me as a question?"

"Yeah, because I don't even know how long it has been"

"That hasn't answered my question "

"Owh, I was called upon to check on Selom and I have to say it is really something to worry about. I checked her pulse and I think there's something wrong."

"I know, I had checked her pulse too. I find it weird but I cannot describe exactly what it is.Then she was just three months gone, I had kept it to myself for a while now but it seems Clara is also aware of this too, I had overheard them talk about it. My daughter must be so worried even though she isn't showing it.So it seems you are here for the same reasons?"

"Yeah, there's a lot you don't know. I had actually been here earlier and I can say I really found them so familiar, I never knew there were my god granddaughters "

Hearing the word 'god grand daughters ' the old man couldn't help but smirk. "You had only been with them a few years when they were kids. Don't be shameless"

"He He He, You don't need to embarass me you know. I was still with them then wasn't I?"

"Point of correction, you were just a passerby and needed shelter I gave you one. But if I remember clearly then you needed help, I never gave you such a title did I? Then you were younger than this and you didn't have such a face" He said nodding in disappointment

"Speechless " "What's wrong with my face?"

"No one would recognize you with such a face"

"You don't have to tell me, I know I am more handsome now compared to then" 

"That's two bad, I was right when I said you have a problem with your eyesight. You must be blinder now"

"Speechless "

There were a lot of things he wanted to share with Blaine but this is not only about medicine, it had to do with his private life and also the struggles he went through. This wasn't the right place to discuss all that, all they could do for one was talk about the most important issue at hand and that was 'Selom's Pulse'

After they were done talking, the old men tried bringing out meaningful solutions to the problem they had at hand and since they couldn't think of something so quick they had t involve the rest of the women. Both men immediately walked up to them "Young mistresses, this is your grandfather Elyrex" he said pointing to the old man

Lylic who had her body glued to Clara stood up in an abrupt manner. "I heard you died, you were killed by a train"

"Puff, killed by a train? Who spread such rumors?. That's a shameful way to die" Elyrex said in terror. They could have at least made his death heroic. Why did they have to say he was killed by a train?

"So you are really the cheeky old hagged looking man from our childhood memories?" Roselle said with a smirk

"Yes I am…" he said without thinking twice (pausing a minute with his mouth wide open) "Wait a minute, Cheeky Old hagged looking man? Is that me?" He said pointing to himself.

(Laughing) " she is referring to you for sure" Lylic nods

"Blaine, why is she so Cheeky, Sassy, Rude, Mannerless, Boorish, Crude, Blunt and Abusive?" He said glaring at Roselle

"Old man, do you know that all the words you just said meant the same thing?" Lylic said inspecting the old man

"I know, but after saying them one after the other. I feel better" He said heaving a sigh of relief 

Blaine on the other hand had no time to give him answers at all. He immediately got straight to the point "Teresa, Clara and Roselle, we old men would like to see you guys " He said with a smile "We would be talking over there" he pointed to some meter distance

Following his instructions the women stood up immediately and walked to the direction he pointed to. They didn't have to use the modern method before they could detect that something wasn't right. Selom's Pulse had a rapid flow and the heartbeat wasn't normal at all. This was indeed a very serious matter they are to attend to before anything else. It needed urgent attention before the due time of delivery.

There she was sitting like a specimen to be worked on. She was like someone who knew what was going to happen to her but had to stay put. It was likened to a rat seeing a trapped cheese but it still walks happily to it knowing that it is fully a trap. She knew what they were discussing was all about her, there was no two ways about it but there was nothing she could do.

"Stop being so anxious, it's nothing bad at all" Lylic said rubbing her palms warming it up.

"I should be, I Know they are all talking about me, my ears are itching already, I can at least eavesdrop a little" she said with a smile

(Laughing) "For your own benefit you better not, your mother wouldn't try you nicely. I remember when she was a kid we got beaten mentally for such a bad act. Do you remember? The very first day we tried eavesdropping on their conversation, it landed us in big trouble. We could not think properly for days or was it even up to a week?"

"So tell me what are you up to, where did you run off to? I was so worried about you"

"I had instructed the new maid to make my nails. I felt a good manicure and pedicure would do me good"

"You have never been a bully before (Laughs) What are you really up to!"

"The whole process changed my mood, the girl became a pain in the ass. I felt like shaking her off" Lylic said with a sigh, she began narrating the whole experience to Selom. Selom and Lylic were now in the world of their own, Leaving Roselle, Aunt Teresa, Aunt Clara and the two old physicians to discuss whatever it was they were discussing. She had to confess she was really very proud of them, this was because they were just a few meters away from them and none of them could guess what they were saying from their lips movement. And they couldn't eavesdrop using their skills, they both would get into big trouble. Lylic could roughly guess what the topic was all about, but it was only a guess and it wasn't the real deal. She knew of the fact that they all wanted her to keep Selom in check.

 Selom was fully distracted now, she was totally into the event Lylic was explaining to her. "So why didn't they heal then?"

"That's the same question I asked and she had no answer to it. I am just as confused as you are now. I would have to speak to my mother about it but even at that (sigh) where on earth would I find her?"

"Since she couldn't give you answer, this means her father couldn't explain the whole process himself"

"Darling, I think there was more to the accident than it seems. Do you know? She made mention of her Grandfather's disappearance and her other surviving brother went missing as well. I find all this very weird"

"I have to say this, but for such a girl to rule with so much she has been through, she must be a tough fighter."

"She is, she blames her brother's and Mother's death on Roselle"

"Why is that? How does the accident relate to Roselle? She wouldn't have a hand in such a thing"

"(Sigh) Darling this is how it is, Her brother had died on the spot but her Mother didn't. She was taken to the hospital just as I explained earlier. So it seems her father took her mother to the goddess of Destiny for a change of fate. Maybe based on her Destiny she was bound to die at an early stage so they wanted to change her fate, that way she would survive the accident and live on but it seems she didn't buy their idea"

"What you mean by this is that Aunt didn't agree to their request?"

"Yes" Lylic nods

"And she mistook the goddess of Destiny to be Roselle's mom?"

"Yes" she nods with a smile

"And to get back at the goddess of Destiny she wanted to use her own daughter?"

"You got that right again" Lylic said giving her a thumbs up

"(Laughing) "Just like she wanted Revenge, She wanted your mother to feel the same pain of losing a loved one. So using her daughter would be more painful than anything else, the only mistake she did was mistake the daughter's identity and also overestimated her skills"

(Giving her an applause) " So wonderful, you are so Smart darling"

(Smirks) " Should I take that as an insult?"

(Smiling sheepishly) "No you shouldn't, you should take it as a good compliment"

"I have always been so brilliant, you know that for a fact. So tell me she got so much nerve to want to attack Roselle, let's forget about mistaking her identity but being the goddess of Destiny's child, that should be the more reason for her to be afraid."

(Laughing) "She thought Roselle is a Normal human child adopted by the goddess, funny right?"

(Laughing) "Roselle must feel so hurt by this. So much downgrade!" Selom said Laughing her heart out. If Roselle comes to find out about this she would swallow Cecilla alive without a second thought.

"I also thought about the same thing, we did have a lot of fun together though. She reminds me so much of Stephanie and Suzan, I wonder what those two would be doing now. I am already missing them so much"Lylic said stretching out her arms and legs like someone who was dizzy.

"I know, it's just a matter of time darling. Before you know it my baby would be out" she said rubbing her belly. "So tell me, have you talked to him lately?"
