Jordy was absent all day, and Gloria felt at home. Nydia kept her company, chatting and laughing with her. She was also forced to rest from time to time.
In the evening, Nydia asked her with a smile, "Girl, what would you like to have for dinner?"
"Anything will be fine." She was not picky about food.
"Okay, I'll get it ready."
"Thanks."
"No problem, I've kept it on record, and you will cook for me in return. As the saying goes, a drop of water in need shall be returned with a spring in deed. I'll have someone get the food ready, and you will cook for me in person. It's called reciprocity," Nydia enthused.
Gloria was amused. "Fair point."
Nydia laughed. In fact, she had bummed meals off many times. "Alright, I'm going to get the food for you."
"Go ahead."
Nydia got up and left.
Just then, her phone rang. Gloria checked the caller ID before the smile in her eyes faded away. She then answered it.
