"You did what?" He frowned and I rolled my eyes.
"You drove, are you serious?" he was surprised and I smirked at him.
"It seems that someone is underestimating my skill" I narrowed my gaze at him accusingly.
"Oh no, no I didn't mean that but thanks for helping him." he rubbed his neck and gave a sheepish smile.
"It's okay! I got a chance to help you. Now let's go inside" he followed me.
His father was conscious when we reached his ward. Miller paid the bill and bought the medicines. We carefully settled his father on the back seat. He looked at us with tired eyes and smiled a little. I observed him closely for the first time.
He had the same blue eyes like Miller but dirty blond hair. He was very handsome for his age. I looked at Miller comparing the duo in my mind and Miller caught me looking at him. He winked at me and my heart skipped a beat.
"Hey Chipmunk, You know what, I would love to race with you to clear your doubts but I don't think it is right time" I challenged him before turning on the keys of his father's car.
"Wish granted dear" he winked at me again before walking to his car.
'A guy winked at you twice and you didn't slap him Gauri. What has happened to you? You have enjoyed his flirting.' My inner voice scolded me but I brushed off that thought aside and focused on driving.
We have reached the British embassy in 15 minutes thanks to the empty road. Miller was about to shout for his servants but I stopped him. I tugged his t-shirt to get his attention.
"Miller, we are enough for him." He nodded in agreement.
We helped his father to walk over to his bedroom. The embassy was huge as compared to my tiny house. It was a Victorian style bungalow with a pair of beautiful garden separated by an equally beautiful driveway.
As we passed the living room I saw the huge painting of queen of Britain. I wanted to observe it for some more time but Miller's father was more important than admiring the painting.
When we reached his father's bedroom, I was impressed with the simple decoration. I adjusted the soft pillows near the bedpost so his dad could comfortably sit and talk to us. Miller has brought two chairs and put them near the bed so that his father could look at us without straining his neck.
"Please, take a seat" His father requested me politely and I blushed. Nobody talked to me in that way ever in life.
"Sir, you should have breakfast and medicines first. We can talk later" I politely replied.
"Miller can you please bring breakfast for him" I saw a ghost of an amusing smile on his father's face. Did I say something funny?
"John, bring breakfast for dad and don't put any oily stuff. It should be healthy and light." Miller pressed the intercom and ordered. Total show off! He could have brought the breakfast for his dad by himself.
After a few minutes, a tall and thin guy appeared with a trolley. He greeted us good morning and we returned the gesture. He looked at Miller and he signaled him to leave the room.
"Miller, serve the breakfast" I elbowed him.
He looked at me and then at his father but didn't utter any word. He lifted two napkins and placed one on his father's lap and another below his neck. He took the bowl in his hand and feed him with a spoon. His father was looking relieved.
I have never seen the bonding between a father and son. My father was right, emotions are same everywhere; they are independent of country, language, races, religion or color.
I was gawking at them and smiling like a fool.
"What are you looking at? Child" his father asked me in a gentle voice.
"Nothing sir, I have not seen a father-son bonding moment before, it's beautiful"
The father-son duo was stunned like I have informed them that the sun had arisen from the west today.
"I am sorry if I said something wrong"
"No no, I liked that, thanks, my child. You look familiar to my son. Do you know each other?" he was sipping juice but his gaze was fixed at me.
"Yes sir, four days ago, Miller has helped me in my brother's treatment. His condition was critical and if Miller had not helped me, I don't know what would have happened. I am grateful to him and always be." My reply was laced with gratitude.
"Sir, you don't need to thank me because God has given me a chance to return his deed." I added further and smiled. I observed him, he was looking quite better.
"Oh, so you were the friend in need that day" He gave lopsided grin to his son and Miller scowled. I couldn't understand his weird reaction on his father's word.
"Sir I am getting late, if you will excuse me then I would like to go home. I have to attend my school." I requested him.
"Of course! How could I forget that? Alex will drop you to your home." Alex nodded in agreement.
He gave medicines to his father and called John to take care of his father.
