Dark night

"What do you mean by that?" I half shouted at him.

"Bro, I think she must be angry with you" Adam smirked at me.

"What made you think like that buddy"

"Well, when you were swinging Tori in your arms, she was watching you from the window. And for your kind information, she was not looking very happy on seeing Tori in your arms." He mocked me and I remember the anger flashed in her eyes. Tori also gave a surprised look and then smiled.

"You guys are dating?" she intervened.

"No, we hardly talk and Gawri doesn't like guys much."

"But Bro, I felt that she has something for you" she hugged me sideways.

"Even I have noticed, why you don't give it a try" Adam encouraged me.

"You know what, she has two friends who will not hesitate to kill me if I make a wrong move towards her even if I am the king of this world" I chuckled remembering Mreenaal and Roul.

"I have not expected this from you Alex. You can bring down the beast in a few seconds but you are afraid of her friends" Adam made fun of me.

"Yeah okay, now that's enough. I have to go otherwise Gawri will leave and then dad will scold me." I excused myself and jogged towards my dad's office but it was locked.

I asked John about Gawri and he told me that she has left 10 minutes ago. I hurriedly took out her cheque from dad's office and went to the garage but there was no car. I called John and he came up with his cycle.

"John, please hurry up"

"Mr. Alex, here take my cycle. And you can take the narrow road behind the embassy. It is a shortcut to the other side. You can catch Miss. Sharma in few minutes." I thanked John for the information and rode the bicycle in full speed.

John was right, I have seen the main road in few minutes ride as there was a car parked in middle of the road. As I approached the car, I have seen a figure with a butcher's knife moving towards somebody in car's headlight. My heart raced up and I increased my pace.

I reached the main road in seconds and throw the bicycle at one side. As I reached the figure, I have seen it was about to attack another person from behind, a girl who was punching someone.

"GAWRI, LOOK BEHIND YOU" I shouted on top of my voice. She has turned towards her right but till then the guy attacked her but the knife hit her shoulder blade instead of her back. She kicked that guy in the stomach and he fell down.

I grabbed his collar and pull him up and about to punch him then I recognized him.

"Maddy?" I was surprised.

Before I could ask him anything, he put soil into my eyes which made me blind for a few seconds.

"Maddy Bhag (Run)" I recognized the other voice. Maddy has pushed me and ran away. The engine roared and the car moved away from our side.

When I regained my vision, I found Gawri drenched in blood and trying to stop the bleeding by her left hand but failing miserably.

I rushed to her and helped her to stand up. I tied her stole around her injured shoulder to stop bleeding.

"Gawri, come let's go to the doctor"

"No Alex, I can't go to the doctor" her breathing was labored. She might be fighting for a long time because she was totally exhausted.

"Don't worry about the money Gawri" I tried to convince her in case she was thinking about the expenses.

"No, Alex. It's not the money. If we go to the doctor then he will call the police and I have to tell them everything. I can't go through all that again. Please save me Alex, I don't want to die" with those words she collapsed in my arms.
