Chapter 6

Amery signaled for Myles to follow him along the side of garage to the shelter of the trees at the far end. First, however, he took a scanner from his bag and checked to be certain there wasn’t more security on the exterior of that side of the house than they knew about. He had been able to access the set-up of the security, which he had deemed primo—as far as it went. Once they gained access to the interior, there were only a few motion detectors and cameras they’d have to avoid. Ones that, they presumed, were in the rooms where there was either valuable art or safes. The artwork didn’t interest them. The safes did.

“So far, so good,” Amery whispered. He took out his flashlight, using it to peer through one of the windows on the side of the garage, being careful not to touch the frame. “The Mercedes isn’t in there,so we can figure they didn’t change their plans.”

“That and the fact the security lights are on, says you’re right,” Myles agreed.
