Xiao Lingxi's Resolve

"You came at the right time, this is Little Che and this is my daughter Xiao Lingxi" Xiao Lie introduced them to the guest. "This is Lun Hui, at first we planned only to take care of her but now she is like a family member"

"Father, who are they?" Xiao Lingxi asked.

"You can call me Big brother Hongyi" Xia Hongyi introduced himself "This is my daughter Xia Qingyue and my son Xia Yuanba" the girl looked around six-year-old, her eyes crystal clear, above her eyes two black thin and curvy eyebrows, her skin like made from jade while the boy looked around seven to eight years, he had muscular build, his eye sharp, above his eyes two black thick eyebrows, his skin fair in colour.

"You two sure have grown up, its indeed a long time since I met you two little fellas" Xia Hongyi said as he looked at them, it's been four years since he last met them.

"Why don't you greet them, when you were little he used to carry you in his arm" Xiao Lie said. "Though one time you peed on me" Xiao Hongyi said and laughed.

"Greetings Big Brother Hongyi"

"Greetings Uncle Hongyi" Xiao Che and Lun Hui also greeted.

"No need for formalities, Qingyue, Yuanba, why don't you play with them" Xia Hongyi said to Xia Qingyue and Xia Yuanba.

"Nooo I just came back from playing don't send me back to play again Uncle Hongyi" Xiao Che bitterly thought, he just came back from playing and is already exhausted he didn't want to go and play again. "Haha, Qingyue and Yuanba must have have been tired after travelling why don't we play after some time" Xiao Che tried to escape.

"No, we came in a carriage we are not tired at all, let's play Big brother" Yuanba said feeling excited to play. Without giving any chance Xiao Lingxi and Lun Hui grabbed Xiao Che's arm and 'led' him towards the playground.

Xiao Qingyue and Yuanba followed them "Little brother don't get yourself hurt while playing" Xia Qingyue warned Yuanba, last time Yuanba got himself hurt being too absorbed in playing.

"Little Brother?" Lun Hui questioned.

"Which part of him looks little to you, isn't he your elder brother" Xiao Lingxi asked, from what she observed Yuanba looked older than her no matter how she looks at him.

"Little Aunt that's rude, Yuanba is five years old just like you" Xiao Che said to Xiao Lingxi, because of the special constitution of his body Yuanba gained more muscles than other of same age thus many people mistook him from his looks.

"Sorry, I didn't meant like that" Xiao Lingxi apologised. "It's alright many people makes the same mistake though I am happy Brother Che didn't make the same mistake" Yuanba said feeling happy that someone got him right.

They played together spreading the sound of laughter and giggle across the place. "Childhood really is the best, having no tension and just playing around, no backstabbers, no plotting against each other and the only worry they have is whether they have enough toys or not" Xiao Che thought happily if he could he want to stop the time and remain a child forever without having any worries and enemies.

"Qingyue, Yuanba come back it's time to go back home" Xia Hongyi called out "Eh! But I don't want to, I want to play more" Yuanba said. "Silly Child you can come back anytime you want" Xiao Lie said to Yuanba. "Really?" "Yes you can, let's go, it's already getting late" Xia Hongyi answered to Yuanba.

"Bye, I will come again" Yuanba said as he can towards his father followed by Xia Qingyue. "Don't forget to bring your wife next time " Xiao Lie said. "Sure" saying so Xiao Hongyi took his leave.

Days passed by and just as he said Yuanba continued to come and play with them along with her sister Qingyue, Xiao Lu would also come from time to time, with the passage of time they got to know each other better making them feel closer.

After Two Years

Currently Xiao Che is standing in the hall, today is his birthday. In cultivation world when a child turns eight year old the profound veins sleeping inside body awakens and one can start cultivating, the more profound entrances one have opened the higher is his talent.

"Father, it can't be true?" Xiao Lingxi asked hoping it is a nightmare and she would soon awake from this harsh reality.

"It is true my child, it is true" Xiao Lie said with a strained voice, he already knew there is a possibility of Xiao Che being a cripple since he was also harmed when the assassination took place.

Xiao Che came back to them, his face nonchalant like it was not him who was being ridiculed by others.

Xiao Lingxi saw his face which showed casual expression but she knew he is faking it, he is feeling sad, he can fool everyone but how can she not tell he is feeling anxious.

Xiao Lingxi didn't care for anything and dove in his arms, tears rolled down from her face as she silently sobbed. "It's okay" she whispered "How can you tell me this when you are crying yourself" Xiao Che said to her, pain evident in his voice. "It's okay" she repeated tightening the hug. "Unn" Xiao Che nodded and hugged her back.

"Remember Little Che what you told me on the day I was bullied" Xiao Lingxi whispered. "Of course I was the one to tell you that how can I not remember " Xiao Che said. "Just like you told me that day, ignore everyone and don't let their words reach your heart....and if they somehow still hurt you then beat them until they can't speak again...I will be the one who will beat them...I will be the one to protect you ..I will become stronger... So believe in me and leave everything to me okay?"
