Chapter 8: Genin Training(filler)

'So here is the place Sakura suggested.' Sasuke stared at the overcrowded dango shop, famous for their iconic dango and other sweets they offer.

'I am not surprise to find Anko here.'

Sasuke knew Anko liking towards dango, so he was not surprise, except by the amount of dango she has stuffed in her mouth.

'Hinata would have a fine competitor if Anko was into ramen instead.' Sasuke thought, recalling a filler episode where Hinata beat everyone in ramen eating competition.

Speaking of the devil, Hinata was waiting behind Anko in the stall with an unique red eye beauty, Kurenai Yūhi, the tomoe less Uchiha, at least what theorist like to say due to her eyes design similar to a Sharingan without tomoe.

'So she already made Hinata her surrogate sister.' Sasuke recalled, how Kurenai always treated her well and tried to give her confidence when Hinata was in bad terms with her father.

Turning around to the shop, Sasuke kept staring at the crowd and thought: 'Oh fuck, its going to take a long time.'

Sasuke now regretted that Bunseki failed to teach him shadow clone jutsu as crowd won't go away any time soon.

Well, he almost regreted since Sakura already went to speacilist shop to get soba, so he was glad he let her to go there or else it would be too late and Anbu would come out to find Naruto.

"I know OG Sasuke would not try to eat with them together other in rare ocassion, but I don't want to eat alone..."Sasuke murmured, who in his previous life who used to eat with his family or friends.

He already tried to eat yesterday alone, in the near suffocating compound, quickly swallowing his food and went to training when he could not bear the loneliness he felt with each bite he took that resonated through the whole compound.

He can eat alone at morning as he used to eating morning and going out early, but not for lunch and dinner.

So while he did agree to embrace his new life, it does not mean he is going to gave up every shred of his last life, unless he want to suffer from identity disorder.

'It is a compromise for my well-being.' Sasuke assured himself, unaware of butterfly effect that has accelerated by his actions.

After a while, those 3 left.

Hinata did noticed Sasuke, tried to reach to him before remembering she was with Kurenai and her friend, finding it rude to leave them like that, so she hoped to see Sasuke for another time.

"20 Mitarashi Dango with 6 anmitsu and oh, parcel them." Sasuke said calmly, after his turn came after standing there in a hour.

The shop keeper was annoyed by the young man in front of him who did not had basic courtesy, but later swallow it, as he has worse customer than him, like Anko Mitarashi, student of a traitor.

Sasuke notice shop keeper expression and and told himself 'good job' since he is now taking steps of becoming Sasuke, by being a disrespectful asshole.

Shop keeper arrived with 5 parcel of food, where dango and anmitsu was plated on disposable cheap bamboo plate inside a generic paper bag.

"It cost --- ryō"

Sasuke pull out his wallet and paid it.

Both of them came back to training ground while Naruto was fooling around with his clones.

Due to Sasuke intervention and Naruto special surveillance at his residence if Sasuke appeared as well, they sat on training ground to eat.

Naruto did not bother to question, already overwhelmed by his teammates sudden change in personality.

But when he looked at odd 'ramen' Sakura had, curiously he asked: "So what kind of ramen is this Sakura?"

Sakura gently explain him difference between ramen and soba while Sasuke was observing them with a poker face.

'Now that I look at her, she really looks like a different person.' Sasuke is not sure what Sakura seen yesterday to cause her to act like a mother figure to Naruto, but he does not care to ask, as having no fangirls in his team is better than having one.

Looking at the food, Sasuke grumbled:

"Hey, talked after we eat, food going to get cold."

Not aware of Kakashi presence and misunderstanding he has caused, he removed lid of soba container made of bamboo.

Sasuke just by looking at it, his face went pale when he recognised it was Yakisoba, loaded with pork, cabbage, carrots, onions and bean sprouts cooked in sweet and savory sauce.

He would loved to eat it, if he did not had Sasuke's taste bud!

'Oh god, give me the will to eat this.'

Sasuke made a mistake by not going there instead of going to dango shop to buy sweet for them and blame himself not to specify Sakura about it, as normal person would not think someone would dislike sweet if they never tell them.

So while Naruto was amazed by the flavour and appreciating the sweet flavour he did not thought go well with savory food, Sasuke on the other hand trying his best not to express his face, when he was in full agony.

"Anyway, I am feeling sleepy, so I am going to my place so see yok tomorrow." Sasuke said, trying his best to avoid eating sweets he brought.

Before Sakura pointed out about dango, Sasuke fled without turning around.

'For a guy who try to act cold, you seemed to be afraid of ruining someone else experinece by your opinion.' Kakashi grinned under his mask, who was an expert of poker face.

Kakashi was touched by his gesture and saddened even more that Sasuke suffered so much yet still have a good heart.

'He was far away from having darkness in his eyes.....compare to me...'

Kakashi sometimes wished he was like Sasuke during his formation of his team 7.

'Maybe if I was not an ignorant jerk, maybe we would have a good team.'

'Maybe... Obito and Rin... would have survived.'

'Maybe.... Minato sensei and Kushina senpai would have survive...'

'Maybe.....Naruto....would not suffered throughout his childhood by the selfishness of Danzo who want to prove he need to take control of Naruto before Naruto supposedly goes berserk if left uncheck ....'

'Maybe....'

Kakashi slapped himself in the face, trying to bring himself together.

'I should sleep early as I need to be there tomorrow.'

Kakashi body flickered away while Naruto was savoring the taste dango and anmitsu with Sakura.

For Naruto, it was good time, since it was rare for him to eat good food over two days.

While eating, 3rd Hokage or Jiji he usually refered, crossed his mind:' Sometimes I wonder, why Jiji never send someone to send grocery to me and teach me how to cook food.'

Naruto did not knew it was possible until Sasuke, they guy who used to look down on him, suggested.

It nows feels all misery he felt after getting kicked out of orphanage was unnecessary all along.

Jiji knew how much he suffered and always gave him a warm smile and comforted him yet two person, who used to look down on me, treated him better and gave him peace in his mind, he never felt more than a whole day.

Similar to how Iruka and Teuchi treated him well, however due to responsibility in their work and fear of repercussion, they could not stay with him for long even if they wished they could.

A whole day where he did not have to eat bland, expired food or starve himself.

A whole day where he was not cursed and attacked by people around him.

He knew still a long away from being the Hokage, and he says he wishes to be Hokage regardless of how many people laugh at him, yet he asked himself: 'Is their any need to be Hokage...if I am already.. happy..?'

He did not why he was crying, nor did Sakura who consoled him by giving him a hug.
