The Man Named Ezra

"Oi"

Was what a man said, as Shu stood straight. The concrete wall had opened for him when he touched the crystal. And passed that wall was a man, an enormous man, standing 304.8 centimeters tall, with wide shoulders and giant muscles, with long black hair and big hands, with a menacing aura capable of scaring even a dodo, and with eyes as beautiful as the black night sky. Shu was standing in front of a glorious man

"You're strong"

Was all Shu called say, as a nervous smile covered his face. The man was sitting down, drinking from a barrel of wine, and even in that position, he stood above Shu. Sweat ran down Shu's cheek as the man stared deep into his eyes, proceeding to talk

"What are you doing in my residence? Get out"

Even his voice was glorious, beautiful, deep, and scary. Shu trembled slightly, though his grandfather was stronger than this man, he had never unleashed a killer instinct as great as this man's

"Nothing much, just passing by"

Shu replied while walking over to the man, closing his fists as he looked up at him with a smirk

"I don't want you here. Leave"

That was all the man said before he slammed the barrel of wine against the ground.

"I said. I'm passing by"

Shu repeated himself, raising his voice along with his chin, looking at the man straight in his eyes, as said man looked down at him with a calm expression

"Right"

The man whispered before slowly standing up, in Shu's eyes this moment felt like days, this simple action was enough for Shu to start breathing heavy

"You wanna fight? Let's get on with it then!"

Said Shu with a smirk on his face, and before he knew it, he was on the ground, his entire body began to sink against the ground as if gravity had intervened

"No. I don't fight with mere bugs that fly around my house such as yourself"

The man said as he would then step on Shu's back, pressing his foot against him with force, slightly cracking the bones on his back.

"W-what did you do?"

Shu questioned as he tried to look up at the man, using his hands an attempt to raise his body

"What did I do? Nothing, your will is simply too weak to withstand my presence"

The man replied while lowering his head along with his upper body, to then grab Shu by his hair, gripping it tightly before raising him up

"Now. Like I said before, leave"

The man whispered, shaking Shu's body back and forth preparing to throw him out, before stopping, turning to look at the boy

"Now that I think about it. How did you get here?"

He questioned while moving Shu closer to his face, staring at him with an annoyed look

"Some voices told me to"

Shu replied while smirking as he chuckled, excited to fight even in this state

"The voices? That's impossible, no one besides me can talk to the spirits"

The man whispered to himself before letting go of Shu's hair, dropping Shu on the ground as he walked toward a bookshelf the same size as him

"Spirits? Are you talking about the fairies? Well you're not so special you know, me and Amada can talk to them too"

Said Shu as he struggled to stand, leaning his weight on his right knee as he used his hands to try and force his body up

"I'm not talking about fairies, I'm talking about the dead——no mortal besides me can talk to them..."

The man replied trying to explain, but immediately stopped once he saw Shu's confused expression

"Forget it, you won't understand"

"Wha—yes I would"

"You won't"

"I will"

"You won't"

"I said I will!"

"Ok shut up!"

The man yelled, irritated at the kid's voice, staring at him with the eyes of a predator

"Now get out"

The man added to his earlier demand, as he then turned around, beginning to look through the bookshelf once more, pulling out a Martial Arts Manual

"Oh you practice Martial Arts too"

Shu blurred putt as he stood beside the man, looking up at the book with a smile on his face

"How did you—how are you standing? A few moments ago you were on the ground, struggling"

The man asked as he looked down at Shu with a surprised expression

"Well, I just crawled here, and I'm trying my best to stand right now"

Shu replied to then bite down on his lower lip, making a face of the struggle to then close his fists with force

"Anyway about the book, can I see it?"

"No"

"Just one glance"

"No"

"Come on, just once"

"No"

"Let me see it"

"No"

"Come ooooonnn—"

"No!! How many times do I have to say no! I'm being generous right now, I could kill you at any given second but I'm giving you the chance to leave my residence, so, leave"

The man yelled while moving the Martial Arts Manual to a side proceeding to grab Shu by his face, walking over to the exit, squeezing Shu's face tighter every step he took

"Come on, let him stay"

Said a familiar voice as the man turned his face to where it came from

"Huff, what are you doing here Amada?"

He questioned causing her to smile as she flew over to Shu

"Let him go please, he's with me"

She requested, making the man sigh, doing as she ordered him to, a few seconds later opening his hand and allowing Shu to slip out

"What's so special about this one?"

The man questioned while Amada smiled, patting Shu's head with her small hand

"He's my grandson"

She replied with simplicity, proceeding to fly over to his face

"Grandson? Last I remembered, Queen Fairies can only have one heir, they can't produce more. And if I recall correctly, your heir died with no children, so how come this one is your grandson?"

The man questioned, with an interrogating tone while staring at Amada small eyes with the intent to intimidate her

"He's Sonma's kid"

Amada replied, causing him to pause as he opened his eyes wide, looking down at Shu who waved at him for a few seconds, to then look back at Amada, regaining his composure

"And what does that have to do with me?"

The man questioned as Amada sighed

"Yorujo died, and I'm pretty sure you know what that means"

Amada replied, as the man leaned in closer to Amada's face, staring at her with anger

"There's no way master died! And even if he did, why should I concern myself with this brat?"

He asked as Amada's eyes rolled down, looking down at the ground as the man bit his lip, taking a step back, backing away from her

"Please, Ezra, with Yorujo gone, he can't stay save forever, even though he was respected, you know as much as I do that he also had many, many enemies, so I ask of you, please train him"

Amada begged as the man now known as Ezra turned away, closing his eyes, trying to think of a way to avoid having to talk about this

"Why don't you do it yourself? You're guaranteed to be in the list of the strongest people in the continent, if not the world"

"Because I can't teach martial arts, the only thing I can teach him is Sanctuary Energy control, and that won't do much for him. Knowing Yorujo he most likely engraved martial arts into this kid's muscles, and the only one that can teach him martial arts right now is you, Ezra"

Amada explained, making Ezra sigh as he would then cover his eyes with his hand shaking his head from left to right

"Besides it'll only be for six days, and all you do is meditate, so give him some of your time, please"

She said, adding to her argument as Ezra gave in, sighing loudly to then turn his attention to Shu

"Alright fine. Come on kid, you're with me"

Ezra ordered as he began to walk away

"You're welcome"

Amada whispered while giving Shu a thumbs-up, making him smile as he followed right behind Ezra
