At the same time, Arijit appeared to be in a foul mood, his plans had been flopped because of some lousy enemy he had no idea of.
He was sure it wasn't Yu Liang as the man wouldn't be so foolish to follow him to the hospital, besides he had met him there.
He walked with proud long steps, his forehead was creased as he was finding it hard to decipher who it was.
His bodyguards opened the door for him to get in. They had never seen their boss in such foul mood and it made them sweat internally.
The driver turned the gears on, and they began their ride back to the Singh's mansion.
The sky turned darker as they drove home, it was the season of rain so it wasn't a surprise to any of them. They heard a loud growl in the sky. Looking up at the sky, Arijit frowned. It was not the time of evening but it had turned this dark? Must be because of the rain, he thought to himself.
He shifted his gaze towards the window, he had left his sister on her own, he hoped she was okay. They only shared the same father but Arijit had an attachment for her. He had cared for her since they were children.
"Hey, where are you going?" A little girl asked, her brows slightly furrowing, but the smile on her face was visible.
"Nowhere, you should go back." He stated, still staring at the boy who was walking away from where they stood.
"But we were not done playing. Why did you send him away and where are you going?" She asked, her cat-like eyes staring at him.
"He cheated, he made you cry. It's only right of me to teach him a lesson." He said, his eyes turned towards her.
"He did?" She asked innocently, and Arijit nodded to Samara's question and she pouted.
"He did, so allow me teach him a lesson." He said with a smile but Samara gave him a doubtful look.
"You won't hurt him?" She asked, her eyes blinking at him innocently.
"No, now go. You've not had lunch since you started playing games." He said for her eyes to go wide. He had hit her right on the spot, Arijit thought to himself.
"Please don't hurt him." She said to see him nod. He saw her run back into the mansion with her little legs.
A smile coming up to Arijit's lips as he remembered, and he had not hurt his little friend who cheated, he gave him a subtle warning and the boy knew better than to go against it, after all he had always been intimidating during his childhood.
It was hard for anyone not to listen to him, except for his sister of course. His thoughts moved from his childhood memories to Yu Liang. They were going to have a meeting on the deal whom his father had gotten without his consent.
He gritted his teeth at the thought that he had not protected his sister as he should have. His father had used her as bait to get what he wanted, and that shameless Yu Liang agreed to it!! Well, who wouldn't agree when it was his sister who every men were craving for her attention, but it's funny his sister gave them none of it.
He knew he had to put up with Yu Liang for some few hours tomorrow, but who knows if he'll lose it. Just like his father, he had a temper which was not good, but he'll have to keep it in check, not only for the company's reputation but also his sister's.
The car took a turn, Arijit wondered when they'll arrive as they had taken another route for safety reasons, he didn't want another case we're he'll have to go to the hospital again.
Sighing, he moved his sight from the windscreen, bringing his hands forward for Brown to pass the papers. Getting the message, he took the papers from it's original position and handed it over to him.
Arijit took the papers, opening them while his brows were furrowed, but not too deeply. His eyes scanned through the contents. Satisfied with some of the reports, he handed it over to Brown who collected it diligently, placing it back in it's position.
"Have the secretary in the lower department tomorrow, it seems some of them are there to chitchat." Arijit stared his complaints. He hated workers slacking and he had stripped many from their ranks to teach them a lesson.
"Yes, boss!!" Brown said and Arijit neither said a word which had Brown asking himself if he should speak.
"B-boss, your r-reports which were sent...."
"Don't stutter, speak." Arijit said and Brown nodded, just when he was about to speak the car abruptly stopped, making both of them furrow their brows in question.
"What is it?" Arijit asked the driver who had stopped the car.
"There's a girl at the front." The driver stated and Arijit raised his brows.
"So?" Arijit asked his driver.
"It seems she's stuck and needs a lift." The driver replied.
"Pass." Arijit said and the driver seemed hesitant about it.
"What?" Arijit asked, seeing his driver's hesitancy.
"It's raining and she's y-young." The driver replied, gulping softly.
"You can join her as well." Arijit said with an evil smirk. After the little mishap that occured today, he wasn't ready to take risks again.
"Apologies Boss. I'll start the car now."
They drove past her, but Arijit didn't miss the blue eyes and black hair, funny how they shared the same pair of eyes. He smiled.
The girl who had earlier stood in front of the incoming car, risking her life for a ride, frowned at the thought that they had stopped only for them to shatter her high hopes. How cruel?! She thought to herself.
It was almost getting dark and it would be hard to get a ride, it was never easy to begin with. She added to her thoughts.
Walking under the rain, she felt the cold breeze crawl under her skin. She had forgotten to take her coat with her, but how would she have predicted the rain?!!
She only wanted a job to help her sick mother, why was everyone being cruel to her? She could already picture her mother's disappointed face.
Maybe, she had just been unfortunate to meet the right people today. Tomorrow's another day, she sighed as she rubbed her arms.
She looked up at the sky and the rain hit her face, making her flinch. It had been a long while she played under the rain.
Making sure her files were placed well into the waterproof bag. She twirled in the rain giggling softly. Well, this wasn't bad after all. She said to herself.
Thinking about all of the good memories, she smiled. How long did she have this feeling? An eternity long? She asked herself.
Swerving to the left, her back hit something solid and hard and it was then she came back to reality.
Oh no! She panicked in her mind. Her heart beating fast, the thundering sound audible in her ear.
The windscreen was pulled down and it showed a man with blue eyes. Blue eyes? She thought to herself, and after much thinking, her eyes widened before her shock was replaced with anger. This was the proud man who had bumped into her without apologizing. He had left, why did he return? She asked herself, she was actually enjoying herself some few moments ago. Was he always everywhere to frustrate her?!
Brown looked at the girl and his boss who looked like they were engaging in a staring contest, this was the same girl they had met at the park. Why did his Boss come back for her again? They had gone halfway only for him to instruct the driver to turn back, but who knew the girl would be having a good time.
"Are you planning to stay under the rain for the rest of the evening?" He asked, his eyes still fixed on hers.
Mira broke her gaze away from him, her brows were obviously creased as she looked up at him. Why was he offering her help when he had clearly ignored her. Her eyes skeptically scanning him.
"Don't look at me like that, get in." Arijit said with a not-so soft smile. Was he scaring her? Mira asked herself. Well, she wouldn't let herself be intimidated by some random man.
"I'm pretty sure we communicated well enough earlier today, did you suddenly go deaf?" Arijit asked for him to see her eyes flare up in anger.
This man! She could only state in her head. Taking a deep breathe, she walked towards the car, opening the door, Brown stepped out of the car to stay at the front, leaving his boss and the lady at the back.
The car started and it was engulfed in an awkward silence, he had not asked her where she was going! Did he know?
Not being able to bare the silence, she spoke. "Thank you."
Her words were followed by a deafening silence, her eyes looked up at him to see him staring at her.
