Chapter 12- Break In

"Excuse me! Hello! Will you answer some questions about All Might being your teacher? What is it li- huh? Where did he go?" I teleported before she could ask me too much. I'd rather stay out of the spotlight, that much hasn't changed, and never will. Being a hero might make that goal hard to obtain, but Aizawa did it, so it's definitely possible.

"Huh? Where did you come from?" I roll my eyes as I appear in the classroom, Midoriya panicking over my sudden arrival. He's earlier than usual, no one is in the classroom yet.

<I teleported to escape the press. I don't have any the energy to deal with them.>

"Oh, that makes sense. It was pretty hectic this morning." I nod, staring down at my hands. This year couldn't go by any slower. "It's crazy that it's only the third day of school, it's it? It feels like the entrance exams were ages ago."

<Time is merely the indefinite continued progress of existence made up by humans to make themselves feel better.>

"…What?"

<Nevermind.>

Soon everyone filters into the classroom, quietly sitting down and facing the front. Aizawa gives us some tips on how to improve, droning on about Bakugo's potential and how Midoriya is going to be useless unless he gets his quirk under control. He's interrupted by frantic footsteps echoing through the hallway, obviously scrambling in a despite hurry.

"I'M HERE! I'M HERE!" I sigh as my father bursts through the door, his hero costume soaked in sweat and his sides heaving for air. "I'm so sorry! I got up late and rushed here, but when I got here the media tried to get in and they set off the alarms, so I was trapped outside! I had to climb over to escape their endless questions!" I glance into his memory, not surprised at all by my discoveries.

"Oh! It's The Licking Hero: Big Lick!"

"Woah, I thought he was in hiding or something!"

"Who knew he'd be here, of all places!"

"How did he get into such a prestigious school? Is he teaching or retaking high school?"

"Let's ask!" The media swarm Kuniharu, shoving microphones in his face and asking question after question.

"Big Lick! How do you feel being ranked the worst hero?"

"Why on Earth would you want to become a hero with a quirk like yours?" Kuniharu desperately looks for an escape, his eyes watering from the onslaught of queries. He had noticed before that the gates were shut, probably due to an interviewer trying to get a glimpse of All Might. He takes a deep breath, running for the wall and using his tongue to slingshot over it. He misses, but he's able to grab onto the top of the gate and scramble over, the media laughing below him.

[They weren't questioning him, they were mocking him.] Aizawa rolls his eyes as his co-teacher kneels over, his hands on his knees while he attempts to catch his breath.

"You take over." He mutters, zipping himself into his sleeping bag.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. Sure." He catches his breath, standing before his class with his head held high.

'I won't let any stupid media tell me I'm useless.'

"Today we will be choosing class representatives!"

"Woah, really?"

"Pick me! I wanna be class rep!"

"I'll take it!"

"I'm the one, guys!"

"If I am chosen, I'll do my best to make you all proud!" The whole class suddenly goes silent, staring at Hairo, who's holding his hand in a fist in front of his chest.

"He's so manly…"

"EVERYONE, SILENCE, PLEASE!"

"No one was talking, idiot."

"The most logical way to fill this position is democratically, we should hold an election to choose the right leader."

"Really? We hardly know each other."

"Plus, everyone is going to vote for themselves."

"And it's obvious you just want us to vote for you."

"Maybe, but it's the easiest solution."

"He's got a point," Kuniharu mutters, stroking his non-existent beard. "You should all vote!"

We all scribble our vote on scrap pieces of paper, folding it and throwing it into a pile. Father counts out the votes, then writes the results on the board.

"Looks like the winner is Hairo! Now, off to lunch you go!"

I sit down in the cafeteria, quietly eating my food and avoiding the others. I could always teleport to the roof and eat there, but right now that just seems like a pain.

"Yo, Buddy!!! Are you eating ramen?"

I accidentally teleported. He shouldn't sneak up on me like that. Oh well, I'll just teleport back after my powers 'cooldown'. Where did I teleport to, anyway?

DEVON ISLAND: NUNAVUT, CANADA

[Huh.]

After the three minutes are up I teleport back to the cafeteria to find it filled with nothing but the sounds of an alarm. I follow the thoughts of the students until I find a swarming mass of children pushing and shoving each other to get to a safe place.

[What heroes they are.]

Their thoughts and voices are overwhelming, but I can't teleport to get away. I grit my teeth to fight through the agony, not wanting anyone to notice the pain I'm going through.

[Honestly, what a pain.]

I start to walk back into the school, taking my chances with villains. Luckily for me, Iida gets the crowds' attention, reassuring them that everything is fine. This calms their thoughts, allowing me to relax. I wander back into the lunch room, sitting down and waiting for lunch to end. The student's thoughts are louder than usual, but I can't help but notice some interesting sounding voices in my head.

'Idiots. This is a piece of cake. Master will be proud.'

[It's probably nothing important.] I sigh, using clairvoyance to look through the school anyway, just in case.

"Hey, buddy!" I jump, my eyes returning to normal as I stare at Nendo. "What was wrong with your eyes? It looked funny." Nendo laughs, poking my cheek. "Are you broken?" I roll my eyes, standing up and walking to class.
