'Maybe this where I commit suicide?'

Sora thought devoid of every emotion on in face and paling even further than he already is.

"Well, How do you feel Sora-Kun?"

Principal Akaiichi smirked when she saw Sora paling even further and it seems like she is even feeling the pleasure of pranking this top student of their school 'Hmmph... I'm sure you'll listen to me now'

"M... Miss Principal I know that I have disappointed the school from being absent, also from constantly being late for classes, and from forging my father's signature just to ask for a day of absence, but I have my reasons to do that, and it's for the greater good of not just my self but also for my father who's the only family I have left, and although the endeavor that I did have been the cause of my absence became successful, I would still want to gift my father a diploma which can prove that all the things he has given me by his hands has paid off, and I would like to give him a present by walking up the stage with my father by my side and receive my diploma that I... no... that we worked hard for," Sora said, in a barely audible voice while looking at the ground this causes the principal to flinch and feel moved by what he said.

Principal Akaiichi has been the principal in this school for a couple of years now and though she was offered other and better schools to manage she refused them all, for this school has a deep meaning for her. This school is built by her fathers' efforts and money, at first, it was only a thought in which his father envisioned but like all great things in life that thought became his legacy in which he decided to pass to his children, but as those children grow up those words he told them have been like a voice in which entered in the ear and just passed through the other, all of them decided to go their separate way, all except his youngest daughter who pursued teaching as her passion and finally became qualified enough to manage a school, and though the promise has been fulfilled Principal Akaiichi's father never got to see it happen with his own eyes.

The words that got out of Sora's mouth hit right through her heart as she too felt what he is feeling. When she faced her father's grave she told him, that those promises have never really been a promise it was her gift... a present for giving her an excellent life in which she was loved and cared for, she cried hours that day while the sky too cried with her.

'This is supposed to be a prank! Goddammit!' She thought, sweeping away a single tear that threatens to come out from her beautiful blue eyes.

Sora is looking down the ground and felt terrible as he remembers how his father used to work multiple jobs just to give him the comfort he now has, Sora remembered the time when his father used to tell him that finishing school is his father's top one priority before but his father never got to finish high school due to money problems and in turn, he said to Sora 'I may not have reached that finish line at least I got my son to get there for me'. That day Sora pledge to give his father his greatest wish... To give him a gift he always longed for, and to make his father proud.

Sora's eyes are starting to water as he felt a wave of emotion, this is the only a promise he pledged to never break even when he was still a kid when he promised it, it was ingrained in his very mind and soul, and now that his father's body became weak he felt his promise has to be postponed and moved to make money instead, but now that he was faced by expulsion he felt that he has lost his way, but the money is needed this is where Sora felt conflicted. Choosing between his promise and his father's in need of money for his health, He chooses to make money instead and neglected his absences in school. But now that he has finally had the money needed for his father's medication he is facing now this 'Expulsion'.

'Why is life so cruel' Sora thought.

"Though those absences have been over the top, and the fact that you admitted that you forged your father's signature is an addition to the punishment we will give to you but... But you will not be expelled as we saw you and your father's condition through our own eyes, when your homeroom teacher went to see your father in the hospital to talk about your tardiness, eventually, we manage to talk it through and convinces other teachers from expelling you, and about what I said earlier... yeah it's a joke... cause your not paying attention to what I'm saying!" Principal Akaiichi finally spoke after a long silence, She saw Sora finally looking up at her and saw his watery eyes as a small sliver of life finally shone in it after she finished, her last sentence though nearly pushed Sora to attack her.

"Oh... yeah Sora-kun there will be a party later for you for being the top scorer in the national examination, so don't just stand there and get back to your class, by the way just be ready cause I'll send someone to you later to fetch you some clothes cause I feel that you don't have some formal ones in your apartment am I correct?" Akaiichi stood up and put down her cup of tea and sat on the chair behind her table.

"Y... yes," Sora said unconsciously as he felt every information from the prank to this last part have been a dream and a nightmare at the same time. At first, he felt nervous, next he felt anxious, next he felt relieved and now he felt overjoyed he can't even imagine that this will be the start of his day.

"Go... on" Akaiichi signaled him to get out, and he complied paying the last little respect he got for this principal who caused his emotions to ride a rollercoaster.

Sora bowed a little and left, just like that no words as he tried to digest every information thrown at him by this principal.
