A Night to Remember

[A/N: I will be posting a Auxiliary chapter for Logan's stats as of this chapter. P.S. Long chapter and Happy New Year!]

Logan groaned as he slowly push himself up from the cold, hard concrete floor of his pod in Beacon's garage as his scroll beep uniformly. As he opened his eyes, he glanced around his pod. Numerous wrappers from food bars strewn across his pod with several empty paper coffee cups as well. Parts, for and from, his bike thrown haphazardly into piles, small pools of oil and grease, bolts littering the place with tools too.

Logan pushed himself standing as his body screamed at him in protest from sleeping on concrete. Finding his scroll on top of a box, Logan shut the alarm off. Checking time, Logan saw that it was close to 8 o'clock. Even with the Vital Dance making it a half day today, classes were still mandatory for all students. Looking down at himself, Logan found himself still in what he wore last night but worse off. A blue mechanic jumpsuit with a white shirt underneath and his ever present boots.

Grease stains covered most of his legs and hands. And it appeared as if he slept in a puddle of oil as the chest of the jumpsuit had a massive off shape circle stain that went through on to the shirt underneath. His boots were somehow the cleanest of them all. Yet they were just as filthy too.

Logan: "It's gonna take at least an hour to get all this off." Logan grumbled tiredly to himself. As he looked at himself, Logan decided to just deal with what he was gonna have to do. "Well, that what you get for working all night long."

Logan held his hand out, suddenly crimson flames danced in his palm. The color itself was enough for any that saw it to sweat in fear, but for Logan, it brought a calm yet warmth. With a simple thought, the crimson flame turned into numerous birds that burned all the grease, oil, and trash to ash then burned the ash to nothing. Including Logan's stained clothes and boots. Logan stood there naked as the day he was born as he let the flaming birds do what he commanded.

Once the pod was cleaned up and no grease, oil, or trash was left; Logan then covered himself in deep sea blue flames. The blue flames cascaded down from Logan's head like water, washing his body in a soft blue glow. As the blue glow and flames died out, Logan pulled his uniform from his inventory along with a change of undergarments and his text books, then set them on a workbench he had set up. Before Logan dressed himself, he smelled himself and immediately recoiled at the smell.

Sighing, Logan bought a portable shower from his system. Making sure his pod was locked tight, Logan quickly set the shower up. As Logan washed himself, he also bought shampoo and soap. Ten minutes later, Logan exited smelling like citrus. And with a swift hand motion, Logan dried himself with his flames.

As Logan got dressed, he heard someone knocking on the pod's door. Looking down at himself, Logan made sure he was semi decent, aka wearing pants. Seeing that he was, just missing a shirt, Logan opened the pod's doors. He was surprised to find Ruby behind it wearing her uniform.

Logan: "Ruby? What are you doing here this early?" Logan asked with actual wonder yet his voice was a giveaway of him being tired.

Ruby: "I remember seeing you head off to the garage last night." Ruby said while ignoring Logan's missing shirt. "I came to check up on you. Since, well, you do have a bad habit to sleep where you work once you get into it." She explained.

Logan: "Fare enough." Logan admitted while letting out a yawn.

Ruby: "What's that?" Ruby asked as she leaned to the side and spotted the potable shower.

Logan: "Portable shower." Logan answered. "Useful when you need one." Logan spoke tiredly as he gestured to the portable shower.

Ruby: "No coffee yet?" Ruby asked as she walked passed Logan, into his pod.

Logan: "Not yet." Logan agreed "I just out out of the shower when you knocked."

Ruby: "If you have a coffee pot in here, I get it brewing for you while you finish getting dressed." Ruby offered as she looked around.

Logan: "Back left corner, next to the jug of water." Logan said as he started dressing again.

Ruby thanked Logan and started brewing the coffee. Logan just finished making sure his uniform was on right when Ruby came back to him with a nice, hot pot of coffee in hand. She was sheepish due to something but Logan didn't hear her and just drank from the pot after taking it from her. It was something about cups. Ruby just watched Logan drink from the pot as if it was a normal thing, then realized for him, it was.

Ruby shook her head as she watch Logan drink. She then pulled her scroll out to check the time and saw that to was close to 8:30. It took five minutes, but, Ruby managed to get Logan to head off to class. By the time Logan got to class, half of his coffee pot was gone and he was the last one in. With his first class being with Dr. Oobleck, Logan figured he might be able to get some more coffee from him. Best part for Logan was that he didn't need to ask. Logan sat down and went to grab the needed text book, turning back he found his coffee pot refilled.

From then on, the day past slowly as everyone was anticipating the dance that night. While most were hanging out with their teams; others were trying to get last minute dates, finding suits, or trying to get some homework done as the teacher were ruthless. Everyone had something that kept them busy. For Logan, it was having to deal with Coco's obsession with fashion and he deal to sing for the dance.

Coco brought Logan to Vale and kept him there, forcing him to try on several different suits while discussing what he was gonna sing. By the time the two of them left Vale and got back to Beacon, the dance was in two hours with Logan still needing to check the equipment for the DJ. Coco ditched Logan as soon as they got back, leaving him alone with several bags he had bought including her pile that she got and was as tall as Logan himself.

Sighing, Logan checked to see if he was alone, then threw is things into his inventory and grabbed Coco's things with his ash. When Logan dropped Coco's things off, he had a train following behind him. Turns out, for Hunters/Huntresses in training at least, get two rooms if they are second years and up. Apparently, not everyone get to the second year before they drop out, are expelled, or otherwise. Velvet, when she saw all that Coco bought, wasn't surprised in the least as she her girlfriend and has gone shopping with her before. Velvet apologized to Logan when he brought them in and helped out getting them inside.

Saying goodbye to Velvet and letting her deal with Coco's things, Logan left to head towards his dorm. Sighing at the thought that Coco managed to talking him into singing. Getting into his dorm, Logan pulled out the 'suit' he was forced to buy. The suit was a simple pair of plain black dress pants with black dress shoes. A white long sleeve, button up dress shirt with a dark grey, three button vest and red tie. There was a black jacket that came with it, but Logan decided to forgo it and modify the shirt and vest so that his wings were able to come out.

Logan passed the time as he waited for the dance, after getting a call from the DJ that everything was ready, by going over the songs he was gonna sing. So far, he decided on three with one being close to his heart personally. Making sure he knew the songs well enough not to stumble over the words, he waited for the dance.

-Dance-

Logan had just got off the stage after singing the opening song, 'Party Rock!' that Coco insisted Logan to sing. A good portion of the professors could tell that Logan didn't want to sing, and teased him about it. Logan for the most part took it in stride and let most of them bounce off and gave it back a bit.

Glynda: "I didn't know you could sing Mr Scarlett." Glynda said to Logan as the two of them hid at the punch bowl.

Logan: "I'm not that great." Logan responded. " I'm ok, and at least I didn't mess up." He humbled bragged.

Glynda: "Yes, everyone here saw to that." Glynda replied sarcastically. "Anyway, I thought you would have a date. Not hiding out here of all places."

Logan: "Well, I don't have a date as I was busy helping set this all up." Logan said. "And besides, I don't really care for the dance. I rather be working on something, like my bike. Or maybe the mound of homework you given everyone." Logan said while sending a glare at Glynda.

Glynda: "I have no idea what your talking about." She denied. "But, I can see where your coming from. I honestly don't care for the dance either."

Logan: "What would you rather do?" Logan asked.

Glynda: "Just between the two of us, I've been writing when I have free time." Glynda admitted sheepishly.

Logan: "That's a good hobby." Logan said. "Though, I can't say much. I mean, all I do is work and tinker with my bike. So, what's it about?"

Glynda: "Well, I've always love the idea of fantasy. So one day I just began to jot down ideas and a rough idea for a story came to be." Glynda gave a small expiation. "It's about how a boy orphan met a Dragon that took him in. Year's later, the Dragon leaves the boy, now adult, telling him to find his own story. Make his own life, as the Dragon could no longer teach him anything. The man then travels the world, get caught up in numerous things, then finally as an old man find the Dragon once again. Then the old man tells the Dragon of his travels and all the things he done and left behind. I've yet to figure out an end though."

Logan: "Sounds amazing." Logan genuinely said in surprise. "It sounds like something that anyone would enjoy. So, what's the name?"

Glynda: "I'm actually have three names. I just don't know which one I want to use." Glynda said. " Their 'A Dragon's child', 'The Orphan and the Dragon', and 'Dragon Raised'. I'm not too sure which one would caught the most attention."

Logan: "Well, which one feels like it's the best one?" Logan asked.

Glynda: "Well, 'Dragon Raised' felt like it was the closest to the story." Glynda answered.

Logan: "Then trust your gut." Logan encouraged. "And if you do release it, I'll buy one. Now if you would excuse me, I got another song to sing."

Logan then made his way to the stage for the next song was a favorite of his and one he made. Logan was surprised that the man's name was similar to the original, so he decided to 'Steal' it. After all, it's not stealing if it wasn't create in this world.

Logan: "Now, this next song I can guarantee a good number of you have listened to. So, heads up!

[A/N: All right's belong to Panic! at the Disco for 'Crazy = Genius'. I own nothing, I just wanted to put it here and it deserves a whole lot of love! :) ]

You can set yourself on fire

You can set yourself on fire

She said at night in my dreams

You dance on a tightrope of weird

Oh but when I wake up you're so normal that you just disappear

You're so straight like commuters with briefcases towing the line

There's no residue of a torturer inside your of eyes

She said you're just like Mike

Love but you wanna be Brian Wilson, Brian Wilson

Said you're just like Mike

Love but you'll never be Brian Wilson

And I said (hey ay, ay)

If crazy equals genius (hey ay, ay)

If crazy equals genius

Then I'm a fucking arsonist (hey)

I'm a rocket scientist (hey hey)

(Hey ay, ay)

If crazy equals genius (hey)

You can set yourself on fire (hey ay)

But you're never gonna burn, burn, burn (hey ay)

You can set yourself on fire (hey ay)

But you're never gonna learn, learn, learn hey!

She said darlin' you know

How the wine plays tricks on my tongue

But you don't seem to change when you stuff all of

your feelings with drugs

Other boys you may have dated serrated your heart with a slice

But the cut of your love never hurts baby, it's a sweet butter knife

She said you're just like Mike

Love but you wanna be Brian Wilson, Brian Wilson

Said you're just like Mike

Love but you'll never be Dennis Wilson

And I said (hey ay, ay)

If crazy equals genius (hey ay, ay)

If crazy equals genius

Then I'm a fucking arsonist (hey)

I'm a rocket scientist (hey hey)

(Hey ay, ay)

If crazy equals genius (hey)

You can set yourself on fire (hey ay)

But you're never gonna burn, burn, burn (hey ay)

You can set yourself on fire (hey ay)

But you're never gonna learn, learn, learn hey!

You can set yourself on fire (hey)

You can set yourself on fire (hey)

You can set yourself on fire (hey)

You can set yourself on fire

And I said (hey ay, ay)

If crazy equals genius (hey ay, ay)

If crazy equals genius

If crazy equals genius (hey)

You can set yourself on fire (hey ay)

You can set yourself on fire (hey ay)

But you're never gonna learn, learn, learn hey!"

The crowd went wild as Logan stepped off the stage. As the music picked up with the same intensity of the sound, Logan managed to sneak away to get some air. As he hung out in the courtyard, he heard someone walk softly behind him. Almost missing it due to the load music reverberating in the air.

Logan: "Salem?" Logan asked as he spun around. "I didn't take you for being one for loud, obnoxious music."

Salem: "I'm not." Salem replied with a soft giggle. "I do enjoy the warm feelings that is flowing through the air. But, that's not why I'm here." She said as she turned serious. "I felt something off and was going to check on it."

Logan: "I'll come with you." Logan said as he got ready, pulling his handgun from his [Inventory]. "I could use a break before I have to sing the slow dance." Logan spoke with a slight smile.

With Salem leading, Logan followed closely behind her while keeping his [Passive detection] active and doing a visual sweep as they moved. The father they moved, the darker it got, even though the moon was extremely bright in the night sky. Salem then was suddenly pushed out of the way by Logan as something bright, loud, and deadly shot at her. As Salem looked up, she saw Logan standing where she stood with a massive hole in his stomach, aura shattered, and barely conscious.

Salem: "Logan!" Salem shouted as she rushed on her hands and knees to get to him.

As she did, Logan's stomach started to burn brightly with golden flames. Though conscious, Logan was trying his best to stay awake. Soon the two of them heard the sound of running from behind them. Salem turn towards the sound to find several professors rushing towards the loud noise that managed to overpower the loud music.

Salem: "Quick! He hurt badly!" Salem shouted.

One of the professors, Dr. Oobleck, sped to them. Seeing Logan's condition, Oobleck gently picked Logan up and sped to the infirmary the best he could without jostling him too much. Not even worrying about the golden flames that were keeping Logan steady. Ozpin arrived as Ooblick sped off with Logan and saw his wife on the ground.

Ozpin: "What happened?" Ozpin asked as he helped Salem on to her feet.

Salem: "I'm not sure." Salem shook as she spoke.

Ozpin: "Start from the beginning." Ozpin spoke softly as he held her hands.

Salem: "I-it started out with me sensing something off during the dance." She started. "I met Logan when he left to get some air away from the dance. I told him I sensed something off and h said he'll accompany me since he wanted a break before singing for the slow dance. We got out here when he suddenly pushed me to the side. When I looked up, he had a hole in his stomach." Salem finished her explanation.

As the two of them talked, the rest of the professors spread out some to search for the one responsible. Finding nothing, they began to move back towards the dance with Ozpin escorting Salem back while holding her hand for support. As they arrived, the few professors that stayed glanced at those that returned. Ozpin took charge by heading up to the stage and grabbing the microphone.

Ozpin: "Students, due to an unforeseen issue all teams, regardless of the academy, are to return to their dorms immediately. And until told otherwise, no team or student is to leave their dorms fro the rest of the night. Dismissed!"

The students dispersed as soon as he told them to. Almost all of them were wondering why and a good portion were wondering what that loud noise was. But, not one knew what the reason behind this all was. None knowing that Logan was incredibly injured.
