Runt Of The Litter

Beowulf was of an abnormal size -- he was way smaller than all his siblings and members of their pack-- at least that was what his father thought. As alpha of the Sandulf Pack, Saku Sandulf, sidelined and ostracized Beowulf and his twin sister Salome, making them lonely souls. How would the iron-fisted Saku Sandulf take it when his children start to mix with the humans that he had warned them strictly against? How would he react when he learns that his son's mate is a mere human? It was something unheard of -- a human as a mate. What would happen to the precious Sandulf Pack when betrayal sprouts from within the giant wolves' midst? What would happen between the werewolves and the humans when the proud and haughty sole heir to the human kingdom falls in love with one of the forbidden creatures?

Ren heard the door open and he stirred on his bed and stood up so that he could check who had entered the house. He knew that it must have been Xue and Du but one couldn't be too careful. He got up and walked outside to the general room and there he found his daughter and his wife.

"Good evening, Ren"

"Welcome. Hi, Du," Ren said curtly. He had not even looked at Xue to welcome her back home. He had a straight and stern expression on his face and he did not allow his eyes to look at Xue.

Xue stood and watched her husband. This had gone on for too long and she was getting tired of feeling so irritated. To Xue, they were beating like children -- both of them. They couldn't figure out what was causing this deep friction between them, hence, they couldn't talk about even moving forward. "Ren, have you had dinner?"

"I sorted myself out."
