Nothing In My Way

As Kale and I flew through the forest, the bond between Alaric and me guiding my every step, a sense of urgency gripped my heart. Images of weapons pointing at him, flashing of the shots and i could hear the bangs go off in the distance, the sound striking far to my core, and the roar of him in pain but refusing to back down. The images flashed through my mind, driving me forward with a single-minded determination. 

"Hold on."

I instructed Kale as I let my magic flood to my wings giving me a bit more speed. He clung to my legs as the woosh of air sounded as my wings took us higher. I was close enough to dive to his location at this height, getting us there significantly faster.
