In the dining room three figures were seated together at the end of a long opulent table. In the corner stood an elderly gentlemen with a slightly hunched back.
After walking in to the dining room and taking in the surroundings the young man turned to the three figures and called out with a slight tear in the corner of his eye. "Father, mother, Qing'er it's such a beautiful morning isn't it?"
The three turned around with a slight shock. A handsome middle aged man sat at the center he was dressed casually but decently enough to go outside at anytime. He said to the young man "Tian'er since when do you get up this early do you have something else besides tonight's party?"
On his side a beautiful middle aged woman who still retained a youthful elegance asked "Are you nervous about tonight? Getting engaged is a big event, did you sleep well?" She looked slightly worried when she asked the last question.
A young well proportioned beauty sat on the other side of the man even with her loose purple pajamas on you could still see the curves hidden within. She had a stunned look across her face before she raised her slender index finger and questioned. "What did you just call me?"
The young man, Su Tian, looked at his family warmly and said, "whoa there, that's to many questions at once, let me answer them one by one. Since my lovely family is up why can't I be? Yes, no, yes, and my lovely little qing'er." At the end of his statement Su Tian had a wide grin on his face as he looked at his younger sister.
'Although you joined up with that pathetic excuse for a protagonist. At the end of the day you still fought to the death with our family against him truly part of this family. Speaking of which, I don't understand why I hate that shitty protagonist and his gaggle of beauties so much. Anyways it's not like they wrote the plot, they just benefited from it. Actually since I'm about to make my great escape anyways, might as well leave all the negative feelings and emotions I have for this stupid plot and characters behind with it.' Su tian thought to himself.
Su Qingqing stood up from the table and immediately threw herself into the arms of her older brother and sobbed. "Why, why? So many years I've waited for you to call me that again, why today?"
Su Tian, slightly taken aback momentarily was stunned 'what's going on? Why is my sister crying like a baby in my arms? Although it's been years since I've called her by her pet name when I called her that in the final act all I got was a snort. Maybe she blamed me for the issues I caused for her man and the family? I don't know, well I guess all I can do now is comfort her.'
""There, there, my favorite qing'er. I'm sorry your brother has wronged you. To be honest, I was a child embarrassed to show his family affection. I've always loved you and" Su Tian stopped and put on a sneaky expression then he whispered. "You are your second brothers favorite." He pulled his head looked down at her and gave a sly wink.
Looking at the scene from the side father Su laughed boisterously and said. "Haha son come join us for the breakfast you so often miss out on."
With a slightly awkward expression across his face Su Tian released his sister and went to sit down. "Heh of course, I would love to."
Su Qingqing while wiping the traces of tears from the corners of her eyes tried to regain her elegant demeanor for a moment. But this scene looked cute and funny to the three of them. Noticing the mirth in their expressions, she snorted and said. "Hmph brother is so mean, I really thought you forgot about me I was so sad." Thinking of the last decade where she has started to grow distant from her brother she felt sad and her expression showed slightly on her face.
"Anyways son, what do you have to do this early on your big day? Is anything the matter? Tell your old man and I'll fix it." Noticing the increasingly awkward atmosphere father Su tried to steer the conversation elsewhere.
Hearing her husband's words mother Su jumped slightly and spoke hurriedly. "Tian'er what's wrong? Quick, tell us so we can fix it."
Noticing the panic in his mother's eyes Su Tian quickly explained. "Nothing is wrong, actually you could say it's the exact opposite everything is right."
Hearing this the three looked confused so he continued "actually I am positive I know what I want to do from now on, where I want to go and who I want to be."
When father Su heard this he looked surprised then said "oh yeah and what is that?"
In response to this question Su Tian took a quick breath then said "I want to be an author. I don't have to be big but I do want my family and friends to read my works."
Raising his eyebrows father Su asked "an author eh, why choose such an occupation when you could easily take over any of our businesses? Surely you could find more glory and prestige in being a CEO of one of our companies then being a nameless author, right?"
"Honey, don't be harsh on my baby. Let him do what he wants." Scolding her husband mother Su then turns to Su Tian and says "Tian'er, that sounds great you can do whatever you want to do and we will support you. Even if you want to be a salted fish we have enough salt to last you a lifetime."
Father Su frowned saying "no, this is an important decision I must hear his reasoning behind his choices." Turning to Su Tian he said "so tell me, why an author?"
Mother Su snorted slightly but ultimately remained silent.
Seeing that he's in the home stretch Su Tian made a serious expression looked into his fathers eyes and spoke. "Father, if I'm to be honest I've become obsessed with the idea that if I could write a million words the people closest to me no matter where I go will always have a million of the words that I have personally crafted somewhere in there minds, hearts, and hopefully homes. Of course only after they buy my book." As he said the last words he had a cheeky grin on his face.
