Chapter 46: Finally... Rune of Tranquility(Part 1)

"Let's train." 

It was the thought with which I entered the house, heading straight towards the training room. But, I wasn't in the mood so I returned to the garden, once again looking at the sky that was slowly illuminated by the setting sun, shrouding the sky in a tint of red.

The rustling of the trees woke me up from a short nap, the sky was illuminated by two moons in the shade of azure and red, hinting toward the wonderful world I was living in.

After that, I returned to my house, cooked a meal, ate it, and once again exited the house into the garden, looking towards the sky illuminated by the two pearls. It refreshed my mind, the shimmering moonlight made my body groan in relaxation.

"Why don't I utilize this time to strengthen myself?"

It was a question that tickled my mind as I was reeling in the tranquil environment, graced by the two moons. The question was something I asked in the spur of a moment but I really was intrigued by this thought.

"Isn't there a rune I had been wanting to inscribe into my being since the day I obtained the legacy?" 

Yes, there was. One Rune had been on the back of my mind since I had obtained the legacy. It was the first rune to let me know about the amazing effects of the legacy I was going to be the holder of.

"Rune of Tranquility"

The answer came to my mind, blossoming a smile on my face. It was something I had nearly forgotten after obtaining the legacy and inscribing several runes into my being. This rune was even capable of helping me control the flaw of another rune as it would help me calm my mind, making me less vulnerable to having negative emotions and getting easily influenced by the rune.

"Yup, that's what I am going to do." I didn't waste a second, got up from the chair, and once again returned to the house.

My destination... The enchanted training room.

Inside the Enchanted training room...

I was seated in the meditative position, communicating with my legacy, and getting ready to inscribe the 'Rune of Tranquility' into my being. I was asking for the confirmation on the feasibility of this plan as I didn't know whether I could inscribe the rune on my soul, the vital aspect of any creature.

[Affirmative. The host can inscribe the rune into the soul as the quantified soul is F rank.]

"What if my soul hadn't been quantified??"

[Host wouldn't have been able to inscribe the rune on his soul as it was way weaker to handle the rune.]

"But didn't you say I could etch the rune into spiritual beings once the 'Rune of Inscription' is upgraded to 'rare' rank?"

[Affitmative]

"Then, Couldn't I have inscribed even without quantifying the soul??"

[Negative. Only one condition would have been fulfilled.]

[The host's rank was also the requisite condition to inscribe the rune. The soul would have been refined enough to inscribe the rune if you had ranked up.]

[Now both the conditions, Rank of the host(Soul), and the Rank of Rune(Inscription) are fulfilled granting you with the ability to inscribe the rune into your soul.]

Haiz.... It was interestingly uninteresting to listen to the explanation from the legacy.

"Let's get the job done then." I willed the legacy to help me with this rune as it was something that I couldn't be 100% sure of doing by myself.

[Affirmative] 

The legacy got ready, I was gaining insights on how to effectively inscribe the rune into the spiritual(soul) beings, the way to handle mana, the method to etch the runic symbol into the soul, and everything related to doing the job more efficiently and with no errors in the process. 

The process of inscribing the rune into the soul was similar to the inscription process I was familiar with, with one main difference being the lack of mana in the whole process. Everything had to be done with the soul power making it even more harder than inscribing the rune into oneself.

Etching the rune into one's soul required the soul's power to act as a medium and draw the runic symbol into the spirit. Mana required during the process was not required as I wasn't working with a physical object that needed help from mana to etch the rune into its surface.

After finishing the etching of the rune, the next step was imbuing its meaning into the soul. This was easier when dealing directly with the soul, as I could easily imbue the meaning into the symbol without requiring mana as a medium, unlike when inscribing runes on other surfaces.

The legacy helped me find my soul. I was amazed looking at my soul as it was encaptivating.

"It was transparent, like crystal clear water, and had a gaseous form, resembling air. It bubbled from time to time, as if on the verge of dissipating upon contact with the environment."

The form of this gaseous energy was changing, it was taking the shape of the things and experiences that shaped me into the person I am today.

The day of awakening, the smiling faces of the couple, the fear-induced faces of those I had killed, the emotions of fear, grief, anger, and depression—everything was there. It was as if this gaseous matter was retelling my life, from my painful past to this day. Everything was crystal clear, just as it was, bubbling within me.

Tears couldn't help but leak from my eyes, looking at the smiling couple that had given me the warmth during the coldest days. My eyes were filled with fury whenever I looked at the faces of those I had hunted down. I felt several emotions from happiness to extreme anger, pain, and depression looking at the scenes reflected to me by the soul that was changing its form as time passed by.

I stayed still, looking at my soul, reeling into the experience while trying to control my chaotic thoughts. My emotions were everywhere as if I had become mad without the ability to think and act properly.

[Extreme fluctuation of emotions will hamper the Inscription process. It can even destroy the rune if your emotions aren't stable, injuring your soul in the process.]

This notification from the Legacy brought me back into the reality..... the reality I was living today, already having gone through everything shown to me by my soul. "They might be painful to remember but these memories were the essence of who I was and what I had become today." So, I took a deep breath before once again readying myself for the task.

Huuuu...

"Is it the reason weak warriors don't have the ability to work with their souls??"

[Affirmative. The effect of being forced to relive your life, feeling every pain and happiness does have an impact on every warrior.]

"And almost every warrior has such negative emotions bottled upon themselves."

[Affirmative. The negative emotion is destructive for those warriors who don't have control over them. Their soul would get tainted by negativity if they forcefully try to work with soul.]

''What about my soul? Is it tainted?''

[No. It is protected by legacy, preventing it from being tainted by your harrowing past.]

''This was relieving."

Taking a deep breath, I started to meditate, calming my chaotic emotions. I wasn't going to get affected by my emotions as they prevented me from obtaining power; the power to stop such events from happening once again where I was forced to live life as worthless crap, tossed away from the very world I was birthed into.

"Now is not the time to be emotionally disturbed." It was on my mind as I slowly started calming my mind. My breaths were deep, slow, and steady. My soul's fluctuations also slowly calmed down as my chaotic mind calmed down, turning into a clear canvas where I could etch the 'Rune of Tranquility' today. 

As I meditated, the meaning of the rune I had on my mind started slightly changing itself, getting itself suited to meet the requirement I had on my mind right now.

The meaning I had now added the effect of suppressing my negative emotions, purging them as the time passed by. Before, it was all about calming my mind and taking it to a state of tranquility that didn't suppress my negative emotions. I could still get affected by negative emotions but now it had been suppressed by the addition I made on the rune.

The added effect was the answer to controlling the flaw of the 'Rune of Blood' as well as forgetting those painful memories that would haunt me every time I thought of my past or looked into my soul that fluctuated with negativity even though it was clear. 

I might have been protected by legacy but the impact it had on my psyche wasn't something that could be dealt with by the legacy. I had to strengthen myself for that purpose. And, I was going to do it with the 'Rune of tranquility' I was going to inscribe into my being today.
