Trent could hear his mother's cries outside of the ward. He already knew that he was going to die sooner or later.
A nurse took the white bedsheet and replaced it with a new one since he puked blood on the first bedsheet.
At night after he ate dinner Trent could see his mother's deep eyebags she hasn't had a reasonable sleep for a couple of days, and her eyes were swollen presumably due to continuous crying.
Trent smiled painfully seeing his mother in such a state. Trent opened his mouth wanting to say those words as this was what he was waiting for to tell his mother the words of gratitude and regret before he died. "Mom I-"
"Don't, just don't" Mary's tears started to fall as she hugged her son in her embrace. "Don't say anything else please I'm begging you"
"Mom" Trent closed his eyes as he felt the warmth of his mother's embrace. Even in his dream, it seems as though it didn't want him to say those words.
"Your dad I'll get him, you stay here" Mary took the plate as she left the ward, and closed the door gently.
Trent stood up as he opened the window letting the cold air waft around him. Trent glanced at the height of the hospital, this hospital is where he would die, at the very least before he dies he would get to the view it presented.
Thud.
Trent heard a clatter in his room, he turned his head and looked at the young janitor who accidentally hit the chair with his toe.
"Ahh shit" Tim jumped up and down holding his feet he was just here to clean the place when he saw the supposed-to-be dying person looking out of the window. Tim decided not to bother the guy who was looking out of the window, and he would just silently clean the room, it was that easy but that was a stupid idea, he wasn't sneaky at all and even made a ruckus.
"You were that janitor earlier right?" Trent looked at the young man, the janitor looked to be too young to work at such a place. He felt familiarity looking at the boy's face.
"Yeah, that was me. I'm sorry if I bothered you, but I'm just going to clean this mess up" Tim said as he bowed his head and continued to clean the room.
"The moonlight is lovely isn't it?" Trent said as he watched the beautiful moonlight. 'Two moons?' Trent wondered at the moon as it was split into two, he felt that this dream was beautiful especially how it reconstructed the moon.
Tim looked around him if he was the one being questioned or not, he smiled and pointed his finger at him. "Me?"
Trent laughed as he saw the stupefied expression on Tims's face. "Of course who else but you?" Trent wiped his tears as he looked at the funny guy.
"Hmm yeah sorry about that, but yeah the moonlight is incredibly stunning and beautiful tonight," Tim said with a smile to Trent.
"It is but it may be the last time I get to see the beauty of the moonlight" Trent bit his lips in frustration.
While Tim looked at him awkwardly, he didn't know what to say after that.
"Sorry about that it got depressing, I made you feel awkward haven't I?"
"Well yeah kind of," Tim said honestly as Trent once again sighed.
"Well thank you for being honest with me" Trent looked back at the moonlight as he felt his body slowly weakening, he climbed back onto his bed and coughed a few times.
"Tim, do you have a family?" Trent asked curiously.
Tim looked at Trent and shakes his head. "Nope I'm an orphan"
"Oh, I'm sorry for asking well do you have anyone or anything that you cherish?" Trent asked as Tim was seriously pondering the question.
Tim after a few seconds of pondering the question nodded his head and smiled "Yep I do, well I have my friends and some acquittances and I cherish them all"
"That's good, then what's your dream, Tim?" Trent asked curiously, he was waiting for his mother to come so he could tell her what he always wanted to say to her, but for now he was going to ask this familiar man.
"My dream? Hmm to have enough money to buy food to eat and have a decent roof over my head to sleep. That's my dream as simple as that, I'm not someone who dreams of such high stuff" Tim said embarrassed as he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. "Then how about you? do you have a dream?" Tim asked to change the subject.
"Yes I do, I'm a teacher. I teach in an elementary school and also hold private classes for children. But my lifelong dream was that I wanted to sing in Hollywood" Trent scratched his cheeks he was kind of embarrassed by his dream. Ever since he was a child, every time he would see those singers singing on the stage and having their albums sold made him boil in excitement as such Trent wanted to become one of those, successful singers.
"Oh, you're a teacher? No wonder you have that piano over there" Tim pointed at the piano.
"Yeah well, I used to be" Trent gave an awkward chuckle. He missed teaching his young students and wondered how they were after years of not seeing one another. Trent did see one of his students, who was already a 14-year-old teen.
She visited him to tell him about her plans for the future and her thankfulness for teaching her.
It would be a lie to say that Trent wasn't jealous, he was jealous but he hid it. His student had now surpassed him and had become someone wonderful and even titled one of the songs produced by her in his name which made him happy but he was sort of jealous at the height that his student had reached.
I'm back, about the whole everyday 5 chapter stuff it was the truth alright! My whole family had a three day vacation and I couldn't update due to that.
