Chapter 2: Kuoh Academy And The President

(1 and a half year ago)

Kyoto Japan

(Lucas POV)

I was walking happily on my way home after my class. I have a good mood because Kuoh Academy offered me scholarship, free rent and an allowance after I graduate from middle school. This is really a good news as my mother is having problems financially. My mother and I were the only ones living in the orphanage house right now. I officially accepted Agawa sama as my mother as she was the one who always takes care of me during the time when I was a baby. At first when I just entered the orphanage, we were about 10 people, including mother. My mother was the one managing the orphanage and she was already 65 yrs old that time.

As time went by, those 8 kids were adopted one by one until I was 9 years old, only me and mother are the ones left and the orphanage does not operate anymore as there is no funds from donors anymore. Someone actually wants to adopt me but I refuse because there will be no one to accompany and take care of my mother.

Its been 4 years since I integrated my memory fragments of the past. I became like a different person that time when I recovered my memories. My temperament became like an old man facing everyone with indifference subconsciously and I was almost got caught. I just made an excuse that there is an acting class in our school where I will be the one acting as "King" so I just tried speaking to mother like a king. I also learned alot of skills and knowledge from this fragments of memories. As time passed, I was able to change my mannerisms of my past self and be a different person on this life especially when I had recovered the last fragment of my memory. The memory where I asked a wish to God.

Lucas:"So God really granted me a second life?"

I was thinking if God really exist and I did not realize I was infront of our house that is formerly an orphanage. I stop thinking and went in the house. As I went inside the house, the lights were off so I find the switch and turned it on. I was stunned for a moment when I saw my Mother lying on the floor and not moving.

Lucas: "Mother!!" I rushed to my mother's side to check on her. My face became pale as I only sense her pulse was very weak and almost non existent. Without having time to think, I carried my mother on a piggyback to maximize my sprint and rushed to the nearest hospital which is a kilometer away. My adrenaline rushed through my legs and I run as fast as I can.

While I was running, my mother opened her eyes weakly. She looked at me from the side for the last time and smiled. She tried to reach my face from the side.

Nora: "Its ok my child. Mother is just going to rest." She whispered weakly into my ears.

I stopped running when I heard my mother. She stretched her arms weakly reaching my face. She smiled for the last time and slowly closed her eyes and rested her head on my shoulder. Her hands on my face slowly limped down. It was raining that time and I dont know if tears are falling from my eyes.

I reached the hospital but my mother was dead on arrival. She died at the age of 74 yrs not only because of heart failure but also because of being poor. She had a weak heart due to her old age and the doctor suggest to install a pacemaker but we cant afford it so we just ignored and just be more careful on her diet.

The feeling of aching in my heart once again reminds me when my parents and lovers died from my past life. I hate this feeling, it makes my senses dull to my surroundings.

Although my mother did not say anything when she smiled at me. I know that she wants to encourage me to be strong and live a happy life.

Lucas: "A happy life" I whispered to myself as I was sitting on the hospital lounge.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I looked up and opened my eyes, I gently smiled at a bright light. As if satisfied with my smile. The bright light started to dim down just like an illusion disappearing and my vision became clear as I stared athe ceiling light.

Current Time Line

Lucas Apartment

(Lucas POV)

"Ringing Ringing" my alarm clock rang for a minute or two before I woke up.

Lucas: "Yawn" I opened my eyes and I noticed some dry tears in the edge of my eyes. "Urghhh, a bad dream again"

I stood up to prepare my breakfast in the morning then do exercise before washing up. I dress up my myself in a Kuoh uniform and tidied myself up. Presenting yourself properly is important as it will affect on how other people will see you and treat you.

I ride my bike going to the direction of Kuoh Academy. I have known the location of the school when I first came to town as I have inquired from people of the town. I reached my destination and went to park my bike in the bicycle parking lot.

As I was going to my class. I noticed that the female students are dominant in numbers than the male students. I just remembered that this school just started to be Co-ed last year. While I was walking, I also noticed 3 guys sitting behind a bush with perverted smiles as they stared at those girls entering the school.

I just chuckled as I saw this 3 guys. I also looked down and admired those smooth legs of those female students. "Hmm" "the school has some good taste in designing those uniforms hehe."

I stopped looking and continued my way going inside the school building to find my class. While looking for my class, I bumped into someone.

Lucas: "Oops, sorry my bad. I was looking for my room and did not notice you" I looked at the person who I bumped and was surprise to see a beauty again for the second time in this town. Not only one but two. One has a long black hair and the other one I bumped has a short black bobcut hair.

She looked at me with scrutinizing eyes before saying with a smile:

Sona: "Its okay. You must be Lucas Agawa-kun?"

Lucas: "hm" I was surprised that she knew my name.

Sona: "I am Shitori Souna, the Student Council President" She bowed. "This is Tsubaki Shinra, the Student Council Vice President." She introduced the one beside her and tsubaki also bowed.

Lucas: "Oh, Hello please to meet you President Souna-san, Vice President Shinra-san" I said with a smile and also bowed as a sign of courtesy while I was remembering yesterday's incident with Rias.

Sona: "You should be in Class 1-A. Continue straight ahead and turn right" She pointed out.

Lucas: "Thank you Souna-san" I bowed again before going to the direction.

While I was going to my class. Sona just stared at my back until I disappeared on her sight.

(Sona's POV)

Sona: "Tsubaki, did you feel it?" I asked.

Tsubaki: "Yes Sona-sama, I can feel a faint magic fluctuation on his body" Tsubaki answered.

I nodded and begin to think of something. I remember the profile of this guy, he has an outstanding performance during his middle school. Not only in academics but also in sports. I also thought of playing with him in chess to see if he is really what his profile says. After some thought.

Sona: "Tell Momo to monitor him and report to me if there is anything unusual"

Tsubaki: "Yes Sona-sama" tsubaki answered.

Sona:"May be I can invite him in my peerage".....
