Friday Night Bites Pt.1

(AN: sorry its late I went on vacation and I wrote literally nothing and came back to the rough draft I had written before I left so it took a while to finish but here it is)

Ruby pov:

I woke up to the warmth of Caroline's body next to mine, a comforting presence that made it hard for me to leave the bed.

The memories of last night flooded back, reminding me of my reckless actions and the drain they had on my social battery. I wished I could stay in this moment forever, but we have school today. Reluctantly, I sat up and roughly woke Caroline up.

"Caroline, it's time to wake up," I whispered, shaking her wildly.

She stirred, her voice laced with sleepiness as she replied, "Alright, alright. Couldn't you wake me up more gently, though?"

I pouted at her remark, thinking back to Tyler's comment from yesterday. "If you were Tyler, I would've poured water on you, especially after last night," I playfully retorted.

Chuckling, Caroline shooed me away, claiming her need for clothes and a shower. As she got ready, I took it upon myself to prepare breakfast for both of us.

Today, I decided to make pancakes with a happy face on them. I turned on some music and I began cooking. Once the pancakes were done, I enjoyed my breakfast while getting my clothes ready for the day.

"Caroline, your food is ready," I called out as we switched places.

She smiled at me and thanked me before disappearing into the bathroom. I undressed and stepped into the invigorating stream of hot water, letting it wash away the stress from the previous day. Standing there, I allowed myself a moment of peace before carrying on with my daily routine.

After finishing my shower and getting ready, I headed outside to find Caroline waiting for me. Before I could ask her about anything, she hurriedly grabbed my hand and led me into her room, locking the door behind us.

"Ruby, I didn't want to stress you out, but we need to talk about what happened last night," Caroline said, her concern evident in every aspect of her being.

Taking a deep breath, I met her gaze, appreciating the unwavering support she offered. "I did something reckless and dangerous last night," I confessed, my voice tinged with anxiety.

She squeezed my hand reassuringly. "It's okay, Ruby. But I need to know more. Don't keep it vague," she urged me.

I paused, contemplating whether to share the details. But looking into Caroline's caring eyes, I knew I could trust her with my secrets, just as I trusted her with my life.

"Caroline," I whispered, carefully freeing myself from her grasp. "I want to show you something, but you must promise not to tell anyone else, okay?"

She looked directly into my eyes, her curiosity piqued. "Of course, whatever you show me will remain between us."

Summoning my scythe, I revealed it to her. Caroline's eyes widened in amazement. "How did you do that?" she asked, amazed.

"It's a unique ability within my family," I explained, relieved that she didn't react negatively.

"Can you do anything else?" she inquired, her curiosity growing.

I smiled mischievously. "Yeah, I can do this." I vanished and reappeared behind her, causing rose petals to spread through the room.

"Boo," I whispered playfully in her ear, startling her. She slipped back, and accidentally pulled me down with her.

As we landed, I found myself pinning her down. Amidst the scattered roses strewn across the floor, her hair fanned out, increasing her natural beauty. We locked eyes with each other and her eyes occasionally flicked down at my lips and back up.

I look at her lips and start to lean in kissing her lightly in case I miss reading what she wants to do but I feel her push her lips against mine deepening the kiss.

We separate before she flips us over so I'm at the bottom and she's on top with her knee between my legs. She kisses me and lets her hands roam all around my body then she reaches the end of my shirt and pulls it off.

3rd POV:

Bonnie and Elena were seen stretching out for cheerleading practice while engaged in a conversation.

"Have you seen Caroline? I've texted her like a hundred times," Bonnie exclaimed.

"Don't change the subject, Bonnie," Elena responded, trying to convince her to have dinner with her and Stefan.

"You're going," Elena asserted, leaving Bonnie no room to argue back.

"Fine. I'll go," Bonnie agreed begrudgingly. After a while of stretching, Bonnie asked Elena, "Seriously, where is Caroline?"

"I don't know. It's not like her," Elena answered, setting her water bottle down.Just then, they heard a car approaching. Caroline emerged from the car, wearing a scarf.

"Sorry, I'm late, girls. I was busy," Caroline said with a coy smile.

Elena and Bonnie exchanged glances before getting into position.

Ruby POV:

I had Caroline drop me off near my house since we missed the entire school day, but she still had cheer practice so she had to go.

After I saw her disappear into the distance, I climbed through my window to avoid encountering anyone in the house.

"I can't believe that just happened!" I exclaimed into my pillow, feeling my face burning up as I remembered what caused us to miss school.

"Calm down, Ruby. You don't even know what that means to her," I thought to myself, trying to lower my expectations of what would happen between us.

I took out my drawing pad and started to draw the moment before I kissed her. Caroline had her hair fanned out, and rose petals were scattered across the floor.

When I finally finished drawing, the sun had already disappeared.

"Huh, was I drawing for that long?" I wondered to myself before my phone started ringing.

"Hey Ruby, Bonnie told me to join her, Elena, and Stefan for dinner as revenge against Elena for forcing her to join. So I was wondering if you wanted to come with me?" Caroline asked.

"Yeah! I'll join you," I replied without thinking, only to realize that I had just accepted an invitation to a social event.

I quickly changed into some clothes and hopped out of my window with a stash of cookies in my mouth.

I saw Caroline pull up, so I jumped down and got into the car.

"Did you just jump from the second floor?" she questioned.

"Yeah, I'm avoiding any social interaction. To let my social battery recharge," I said, crossing my arms.

"But you decided to join me for dinner at Elena's," Caroline says as she giggles.

"Well, I also needed to recharge my Caroline battery," I said, covering half my face with a scarf to hide my blush.

"So we never got to the stupid thing you did," Caroline said with a blush.

"Oh yeah, I guess I got distracted by you," I said, looking at her.

That caused her to turn bright red, but I continued to tell her what happened the night before.

"So you're telling me that Stefan Salvatore is a vampire, and so is his brother!" Caroline yelled at me.

"Yeah, but I think Stefan's a good vampire, like Edward Cullen from Twilight," I answered meekly.

"Ruby, I love how much you care about me, but you shouldn't have risked yourself for me," Caroline scolded me as we arrived at Elena's house.

I got out of the car and quickly went to open the door for Caroline. "Milady," I said, bowing slightly, making her giggle.

"Well, thank you, Ms. Rose," she played along, and I noticed she still had a scarf around her neck, causing me to blush. Did I bite her that hard?

We arrived at the door and knocked.

"Surprise! Bonnie said you were having dinner, so we brought dessert," Caroline said cheerfully.

"Hope you don't mind," a voice said behind us, causing both Caroline and me to flinch as we didn't expect anyone to be there.

I looked behind to see it was Damon who spoke. I quickly pushed Caroline through the door, knowing that he wouldn't do anything if there were people around.

"What are you doing here?" Stefan asked Damon.

"Waiting for Elena to invite me in," Damon replied, walking closer to the door.

'Can he not enter the house? I should research more about vampires when I get home. How dumb can I be to not have done it already?' I scolded myself.

Elena was about to invite him in, but Stefan stepped in, cutting her off.

"He can't stay, can you, Damon?" Stefan said, hinting at Damon to leave. I just dragged Caroline to where Bonnie was to keep her farther from Damon.

"Caroline, you made it, and you brought Ruby with you!" Bonnie said excitedly.

"Thank you so much for coming. It was so awkward just being here alone with Elena and Stefan," Bonnie expressed her gratitude.

"No problem," Caroline said, and I just smiled at Bonnie to avoid seeming rude.

I hid myself in Caroline's neck as she talked to the others. She was the reason why I came along, anyway.

I heard her starting to sound a bit mean, so I lightly pinched her, causing her to yell.

"Ahh, Ruby!" Caroline yelled at me, rubbing where I pinched her.

"You know why I pinched her," I reprimanded her.

"Sorry, Elena. I didn't mean it like that. You know how I am when I get into my cheer captain mode," Caroline apologized.

"It's okay, Caroline," Elena said, then looked at Damon, who was sitting next to her, as he started to speak and made it awkward by bringing up Stefan's ex.

Elena, Damon, and Bonnie have moved to the kitchen while Caroline, Stefan, and I stayed in the living room.

I moved from being on top of Caroline, so now I'm just sitting next to her, listening to her talk to Stefan. However, I noticed him looking at me nervously before shifting his gaze to Caroline's scarf.

"That's a nice scarf. Would you mind taking it off so I can see it?" Stefan questioned her.

"Umm, I can't," Caroline answered, blushing a bit.

"Why not?" Stefan asked, curious.

Caroline looked at me and then back at Stefan, but before she could answer, Damon walked in.

"What are you two kids talking about?" Damon interrupted, sitting on the ledge next to Caroline, causing me to narrow my eyes at him.

"Come on, Caroline, let's go to the kitchen," I told her, guiding us away from the sibling feud they seemed to have.

We got up and left, but I hung back a bit to listen to their conversation.

"She's a person, Damon. She doesn't exist just for you to use like a toy and throw away when you're done feeding on her," Stefan told him. Before Damon could answer, I felt the confidence from last night surge within me.

"Yup, she's mine," I declared, walking out of my hiding spot.

"I was right about you, Stefan. You are a kind vampire. But don't worry, he didn't do anything to her. I'm the reason she has to wear the scarf. I went a bit overboard earlier," I said, winking at him to let him understand what I meant. Then I turned around and joined the girls.

What I didn't see was the surprised looks I got from Damon and Stefan after hearing what I told them.

Caroline's POV:

"Caroline, why are you wearing a scarf?" Bonnie asked me with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, you were wearing one this morning too," Elena added to Bonnie's question.

"I just really like scarves," I told them, hoping they would fall for my obvious lie.

They looked at each other before looking back at me and rushing straight at me. I tried to run away, but I couldn't, and before I knew it, they had my scarf in their hands and were looking at me with wide eyes.

"Oh," Bonnie started.

"My God," Elena finished.

"Who gave you these?" Bonnie said, looking at the hickeys and bite marks on my neck.

"No one you know," I answered a bit too quickly.

"Was it Damon?" Elena asked me.

"Eww, no," I answered honestly. I mean, he was my type, but with Ruby, I don't need to look for anyone else.

"Hmmm," Bonnie hummed. I could see the gears turning in her head before she seemed to have come to a realization.

"Is it Ruby!" She whispered and yelled, looking at me.

"What? *cough* I mean, what? I would never," I told them as my voice went up a bit.

"Please, that blush is giving you away," Bonnie sassily remarked.

"Ughhh, fine, yes, it was Ruby," I finally admitted.

"So, how did it happen? Friends are supposed to share the smut, isn't that what you told me?" Elena teased me with my own words.

'Hmm, I can't tell them the full truth, aha,' I thought to myself.

"Ruby stayed over the night to hang out with me, but she had an art project she had to do with some rose petals. But she ended up falling asleep on top of me," I began my lie.

"So, when we were exiting my room, I ended up tripping on the basket, pulling her down with me and scattering the rose petals everywhere, creating this kind of romantic setting, and then she kissed me," I told them.

"Shy little Ruby made the first move," Bonnie said, shocked.

"Yeah, anyway, one thing led to another, and we ended up missing the whole school day," I finished off.

"Hey, what are you guys talking about?" Ruby said, entering the kitchen, making me panic, and quickly put the scarf around my neck.

"Nothing, just talking about Elena and Stefan," I answered, looking at Elena and Bonnie so they would go along with it.

"Yup," Bonnie said nonchalantly, while Elena just glared at me.

"Oh, okay," Ruby agreed easily before she stood next to me and leaned on me.

We talked for a bit before Ruby and I said goodbye and left.

"So, what are we?" Ruby questioned me as I parked outside her house.

"Whatever you want us to be," I told her, trying to look like anything is fine, but inside, I'm hoping she wants a relationship with me.

"Then, Caroline Forbes, will you be my girlfriend?" Ruby said.

"Yes, I do," I told her, kissing her.

"Goodnight, Caroline," she told me, giving me the brightest smile I've ever seen in my life.

"Goodnight, Ruby," I told her, waving goodbye.

'Did I just get my first girlfriend?' I freak out inside, but I can't help but smile at the thought of Ruby being my girlfriend.

"I couldn't be luckier," I mumble to myself before starting the car again and driving home.
