I followed her around the house as she did her usual round of laundry allocation. Mom, please I importuned her some more, all my friends will be going, you never let me go anywhere I accused. You always keep me locked away in this house, I tried to guilt her into allowing me to go, albeit being as strong-headed and strong-willed as she was she refused, with the argument.

"You cannot say I do not allow you out, you go out to school, don't you?"

I was speechless for a few seconds, is this woman really serious I wondered. Out to school! I repeated, I only go to school because you said it was compulsory and you coerce me every weekday morning to go to school, but school is no place for frivolity, we go there to learn it is very different from a party Mum, not even bothering to listen anymore she kept herself distracted with her laundry.

With everything I said to convince her to let me go, she did not acquiesce, rather dropping the clothes she was holding she turned to face me completely.

"You young lady she pointed at me shall not and will not be going to that party do I make myself clear?"

She asked and declared in the most definite tone she could master then carrying her basket she walked away leaving me standing there, in my room not bothering to follow her as it will make no difference if I did. That woman can be as stubborn as a mule when she wants to be and is always very true to her words.

Four hours later, after I had tried to persuade and sway my mother to let me attend the party and she still forbade me.

Who can guess what I did?

I snuck out.

What! I am human, maybe not completely human, but I will explain later or just show you. However, no matter what I am, I am still a living being and need a change of scenery and some life experience, don't you think so?

So far the party has been good and fun, dancing amid this sweating and crazy crowd has been an entirely different scene from my usual one, I have watched many frat parties on tv, albeit nothing compares to personal experiences and I must say am enjoying it thoroughly, well that is if I ignore the guilt eating at my conscience or the voices in my head reminding me of how much trouble I am in and how we are going to be punished like delinquents, not being able to take the nagging anymore I tried to find a distraction.

All I found though was a scent, a very strong muscling scent attacked my senses, bells of danger went off in my head but that did not deter my body from moving in search of the source of the scent, which seems to be a mixture of nature, man and something else but, I just can not put a name to the exact thing, all I know is that I like the scent, I could even say I am in love with the scent.

My legs came to a halt on their own and there in front of me stood the most handsome specimen I have ever laid eye on.

In front of me stood a six-feet-two or more male, with raven short hair, a sharp jaw I could run my hands through, a pointy nose, and broad shoulders that can assure any lady of security, then his eyes I couldn't make out the colour in the dark party hall, but they were sharp and deep, and when they latch onto you is as though he can see your soul, as though he knows your secrets__

Wait, wait I just realized he has been staring at me all this time whiles I was___

Wait what was I doing to him exactly, was it ogling or admiring him and why the hell does he keep staring at me like a price he has won?

I was still trying to figure it out when I heard the words I had prayed and pleaded to the moon goddess and any other gods out there to not place in my path for another five to six years.

I miss heard, I told myself, I am sure it is not possible, he can not be____

MATE.

My eyes widened and my heart started beating rapidly, the goddess can not do this to me, she can not send a mate my way right now when she knows all I wished for and have wished for is my freedom which my mother seems to be too paranoid to give, now she has sent another shackle my way__

Now anger was starting to burn within me, if the moon goddess was at my reach right now then, then ahh! I do not even know what to say but I am sure she would have become a murder case.

Well it's been over two minutes now and we were still standing at the same spot, with my mind running wild maybe, with luck he feels the same way I do, just maybe he doesn't want a mat___

He took a step towards me, however, at that moment a man of almost the same height approached him.

Taking the opportunity granted to me, with all the willpower and zeal I could master I took off walking as fast as I could, away from that area, the party, and my mate straight towards my haven, home. Now I regret not listening and still coming to this party.

Do you? Are you sure that's how you feel? asked the voices in my head.

I had no answer to that and I am very sure I won't have an answer to that at least not now, spotting the door I speed up albeit, before I could pass a hand grabbed mine. Sparkes, tingles, and warmth spread through my body starting from the point where our hands met.

Mate! He called.

This had sent both ardency and fear coursing through me, however before he could say more the same man from before appeared, and a low growl emitted from him.

"Do come!"That was the last thing I heard before he walked away from me and vanished into the night though he left me with something, a piece of paper with an address on it, cold air came along his disappearance, and shuddering I wrapped my arms around myself.

One thing is for sure he-he, my mate isn't human.
