Rain

Once the rain settled Blake stood and picked up Kiken bridal style. Alex followed him close behind as he left the cave and he sighed heavily, looking down at Kiken with worry in his eyes. "She has been out for quite a while, I hope she is ok. I checked her for any serious wounds, but there wasn't any." Alex put his hand on his father's shoulder and smiled. "I'm sure she's fine dad, something happened while she was out that needed her to get some rest. Maybe she'll tell us what happened when she wakes."

Blake only nodded and started to walk away from the town they were at before and to the next town. "I have a buddy a few towns away that can give us some shelter and help us lay low to at least give us a rest, and to get out of this rain." The rain was already starting to pick up as they walked. "It's still too dangerous to fly in this rain, so we will have to take it slow." Alex nods and looks at Kiken and raises an eyebrow. "Um, dad? What is that hiding underneath her bangs?"

Blake looks to his son then to Kiken in his arms. Just as Alex had said something was hiding underneath her bangs and he thought for a moment "She did snoop into my things." That's when he stops walking and puts her down. He uses his now free hands to move her wet bangs and sees a three claw-like scar over her eye, that ran from her mid-forehead to under her mask. "Man this woman has been through so much shit." He picks her back up and continues to walk. "Yet another thing I need to ask her about when she wakes up."

After hours of walking they get to the town and find Blake's buddy. Now in an underground bunker and Kiken on a bed. Blake is sitting in a chair with his mask off and rubbing his forehead. He only has his mask off when he is with trusted individuals or alone, and in the room is him, Kiken (asleep), and Alex (also getting some rest). After about another hour of him thinking Kiken finally awakes and sits up holding her head.

"Shit my head is killing me." She looks around, the only sound she hears is the very heavy rain from above. "Must not be a deep bunker, wait why are we in a bunker?" She looks at Blake and Blake is only staring at her. "What?" She says with some attitude. "You have some explaining to do." He simply says back and she raises an eyebrow. Blake's mask now up, he stands and walks over to her and sits on the bed. "What happened while you were away getting those rabbits while we waited in the cave?"

She sighed heavily and explained what had happened and took out her wings to clean them as she explained. Blake looked at her in shock and ran a hand through his nearly dry hair. "So Darren found you and almost us? Wow, well thanks for not selling us out." Her visible eye rolls. "I'm not a backstabbing bitch." She simply says and he chuckles at that. "Yeah, but um one other thing. While we were walking here, your bangs got really heavy from getting wet from the rain. What happened for you to get the scar over your eye?"

She looks at him and sighs heavily. Moving the bangs and taking her mask off to show him and Alex (now awake) the whole scar. The scar ended just before her lips. "Also, before you ask, I have 20/20, even with this scar. Anyway, it happened when my parents were killed, the vampires marked me and left me there, hoping I would die slowly but well, I didn't" She says and replaced her mask and bangs, but before she could Blake stopped her and removed his mask and, now fully visible, smiled at her. "You're still beautiful with it, hell it makes you look badass."

Kiken blushed deeply and smiled. "Well, thank you." Just when she finished saying it Blake kissed her. Alex averted his eyes as they did so and Kiken blushed even deeper than before but kissed him back.
