23. Ex boyfriend's engagement party invitation

Three months later, Aria Smith was on her way to the school's ( Bright wood Academy) packing lot in the evening after her job was over for the day.

She had indeed gone back to her previous job as a teacher after the accident.

She hadn't taken a long time before she was flown back from Mexico to the States.

While she hadn't heard from Alexander, Qin Cheng did call her while in Hong Kong claiming that the first thing that he did when he went back home apart from eating to his fill was to register an account on an online dating app. He claimed to have eaten too much dog food back at the island, he needed to find himself a partner. A soft feminine voice sounded from behind and Aria didn't have to rack her brain out before she figured out who it was.

She paused before turning back.

A young woman walked elegantly towards her while clinging onto the arm of the guy next to her.

Dressed in a body hugging little black dress, the woman had her long black hair down which was flowing elegantly as she smiled brightly.

The man beside her had an indifferent look as he glanced at her (Aria) with a face full of arrogance.

Her half-sister. Her ex boyfriend.

Aria gave her half-sister a slight gaze without showing much emotions on her face. She had guessed that they came to look for her in the school because they knew that that was the only place they could find her. No one knew where she lived.

" Sister are you still angry with... "

" Hailey cut the crap, what do you want? "

Aria didn't have the time and energy to play the bullied sister and the evil pretentious stepsister game that she had read on novels.

It was her birthday and she needed to go home and rest after a hectic day of dealing with toddlers in the class.

Hailey composed herself and flashed a blinding smile to the man next to her who in turn smiled back in affection before she took out a golden invitation card from her Chanel handbag handing it to Aria.

" That's an invitation to our engagement party. Myles and I are getting engaged this weekend and we hope you will be present. "

Her eyes shone brightly as she embraced the man next to her while closely watching Aria's reaction.

When she didn't see a slight change on her expressionless face, she gritted her teeth inwardly cursing while Myles raised an eyebrow at Aria before something flashed deep in his eyes.

Without letting out any emotion, Aria flashed a fake smile at the two while planning to take her leave.

" Sister, are you really going to come? "

Hailey asked her eyes widened in surprise. Why was the bitch not acting accordingly, she had expected to kill her with jealousy and hatred.

" Why not? My sister is getting engaged, of course as an elder sister I must attend. "

Aria playfully raised an eyebrow before responding to Hailey whose mouth was still widened in shock.

When no one was saying anything, she excused herself before leaving.
