Conflicted
Callie's POV ...
Kameron stared at me with uncertain eyes. I understood why. I never talked like this. I was often very peaceful and always avoided the violence but my wolf was angry.
I knew I was no match physically for Damien. He was twice my size and a full-blown alpha. I may carry the gene but was never trained or raised like one.
"How long do we have before he arrives?"
Kameron snapped out of whatever trance he had been under and he looked to me.
"Two weeks, give or take, I think but I need to send some scouts to his territory and see what exactly is happening. Once he realizes that Jorge is no longer responding, I am sure he will make a move."
I nodded, "so I have two weeks to get ready. I know I will not be able to overpower him but I know that I can outsmart him. I just need to be cautious."
