Chapter 18 - SEMI FINAL

Lee who was throwing the kick saw Eli aiming the back of his sword at his shin.

"I have to make a quick decision because I could lose if I get hit," he thought.

Immediately he threw one of the knives with him toward Eli's thighs, seeing the incoming knife Eli had no choice but to dodge which freed Lee from his predicament.

They were both sweating, although they hadn't fought for long the fight had been intense for them.

Lee who landed quickly rushed toward Eli again, he threw the knife left in his hand at Eli's chest, and picked his knife on the floor.

Eli blocking the flying knife with his sword was sent flying as Lee landed a kick to his face.

Eli was already bleeding, the flying knife that he deflected wasn't blocked properly so it still left a cut on the side of his arm.

They ran at each other again planning to end the fight with a single move.

Swish…

They both stood at the other edge of the stage with their weapons extended.

Blood filled the sand below them, Eli had a large cut on his chest, some bones were even showing, while Lee had a cut on his arm.

At the final moment during the final slash, instead of going all out, he tried to dodge and slashed at Eli's chest which was why he only got wounded on his arm.

If they were still in the first continent a wound of this problem would probably be a big deal, ordinary people might even die from it.

But this continent had some magical properties that could heal wounds faster, if Eli's wound was left untreated it would heal in about a week or two.

It would be a different tale if the alchemist provided medicinal paste to heal his wounds, it would be gone in a day or two.

"Lee is the winner of this match" the announcement lady said.

Eli was quickly carried to the academy alchemist for him to get treated, although the wound would be able to heal if left alone it could cause some problems if bacteria got into it.

Lee also got his wounds treated at the side, as he watched the crowd cheer.

They couldn't even comprehend what had happened at the last moment, they just saw both of them moving and appeared at the other end in an instant then a pool of blood underneath them.

It was time for the finals, instead of three participants it would be four so it was made a semi final.

Anita, the boy with hammers, Lee, and Daniel, the winners of the match would fight in the final and would fight for the first place.

They drew lots, and the fight was as follows.

Daniel vs Jake ( the boy with hammers)

Anita vs Lee.

Daniel who was bored was fired up for the fight, he had been sitting for too long in his opinion.

On the other hand Jake was livid, he knew his chances of winning were nigh impossible.

He had seen the fight between Daniel and Zack, if you fight with brute strength alone you were done for, but what could he do, he couldn't just change his fighting style at a whim.

"If I enter the stage I would have to try my best, regardless of whether I win or lose," he thought.

They both entered the ring, Jake with his two hammers and Daniel with his arm guards.

Not wasting any time Jake attacked, Daniel saw the incoming attack and took stepped sideways dodging the attack.

The next instant another attack came from the side, catching him by surprise.

He used his arm to block it but it wasn't done properly and he was sent flying.

He was still flying as he stared at Jake, rather than just brute strength Jake also had speed which was why he was caught off guard and was sent flying.

He wasn't even given any time to stabilize himself when Jake came running at him again.

He knew what Jake was trying to do, Jake didn't want him to stabilize himself.

" I know I can probably take more hits, but if this goes on I'll be the one to lose sooner or later," He thought.

Rather than being angry at the sudden problem, he was happy and overwhelmed with the new information he had, he had discovered another weakness of his.

The same thing went on for almost a minute, Jake would send Daniel flying and before Daniel could land he would attack again.

Daniel already got a hang of it, every time Jake hit him the force moved through his body in vibration damaging his skin and bones.

What he usually did was transfer the force from his body to the floor, but now he no longer had a way to transfer the energy since he was still in the air.

So he found a way to store some part of the energy in his body, which he would use to give out one devastating attack.

That was why he was letting himself get hit patiently, he was building a residual force in his body for a final attack.

He was just waiting patiently for a flaw to show in Jake's movement for him to attack.

Finally, he's patience showed fruition, the continuous attacks that were aimed at him had taken most of Jake's stamina.

This time instead of waiting for Jake to hammer him in the air, he forcefully brought himself down, dodged the hammer, and landed a punch in his abs.

Crack….

The coliseum went quiet, they couldn't understand what they had just seen, since the start of the fight they had been seeing Jake beating Daniel around throwing him everywhere in the stage.

In just a moment Jake flew off the stage and landed at the coliseum wall knocked out with a huge crack behind him.

Even the city lord was alarmed, What Daniel just showed most awakeners couldn't even perform it.

Only those at the higher city could perform skills of those levels, and those were geniuses for that level.

His shock quickly turned to a smile, a high-level genius had appeared in his city.

The silence from the crowd quickly turned to cheers, this was something miraculous that they hadn't seen before.
