Song Zemin

The fancy car finally reached Ki Shin's house. He got out the car and grabbed his stuff before smiling at Jun Yi. "Do you want to come in for a drink or something? I can make some coffee or food if you want."

Ki Shin and Jun Yi spoke so much in the car that they felt the distance lessen significantly. Ki Shin felt it was weird to let Jun Yi leave when they were right in front of his house.

"Umm… sure." Jun Yi opened his door and then began to step out, but suddenly he sat back onto his seat and closed his door. "I'm just kidding. I will come next time, just go and sleep. I can see that you're tired, so don't worry about it."

Jun Yi smiled lightly as he looked at Ki Shin's tired eyes. He didn't plan on forcing himself in the house when Ki Shin was so tired.

"Are you sure? I should be able to---" Before he could finish, Jun Yi shook his head smiled.

"I am alright, really. I will just come later today. Remember to add me as a friend in the game so we can meet up and play." With that, Jun Yi waved his hand and drove off. Ki Shin smiled lightly as well as he felt some nostalgia with the way Jun Yi acted. He would always leave without saying bye and made plans himself without asking others.

Although this would irritate many people, Ki Shin did not find it annoying, rather it made him quite happy. It showed him that Jun Yi was still the same and did not act differently around him.

'Well, time to get some sleep.' Since the servers would start up again around 10 am, he decided that he would sleep as much as possible and then get some food before heading back into the game.

Ki Shin headed into his house and walked towards his room. The room had his small bed and a table. He took his vest off and also took his shirt off, showcasing his refined body with toned muscles.

Just as he was about to reach for another shirt, he smelt a small stench. It was a mixture of wood, sweat, metal and oil. It wasn't a pleasant smell. "I should take a shower before going to bed or even I might not last the night."

He picked up a towel from his closet and walked towards the bathroom.

---------------------------------------------------

*Knock Knock*

Shin walked out the shower with his hair slightly wet. He quickly dried as much as possible and put on some clothes. He wore navy blue shorts and a black t-shirt.

*Knock Knock*

"Coming, coming." Shin rushed towards the door. 'Who could it be at such an hour? Is it Jun Yi?' This was his first thought since the only person that would come at such a time would be Jun Yi.

He reached the front door and quickly unlocked it and swung it open. "Ye--"

In front of him was a gorgeous girl. She had long grey hair which was tied into a bun. Her eyes were a light brown, resembling caramel. Her emerald dress was covered with white flowers.

"Song Zemin? What are you doing here so early?" The woman in front of him was actually one of his friends from his junior high. She was once his girlfriend when they were in high school, but because of some conflicts, he decided to break up with her.

Zemin lived near his house and ever since his parents died, she and a couple of his friends would come and console him. However, seeing her so early in the morning really to him as a surprise.

"Shin, did you just get back from work? I saw a car go by as I was walking home, who was that?" She didn't answer any of Ki Shin's questions and just asked her own. They could be considered friends now, so it wasn't too awkward for them when talking.

"Umm, yea. Remember Jun Yi from junior high? That was him." There was no reason to hide that Jun Yi was in town from Zemin. Although she wasn't too close with Jun Yi, they still knew of one another.

Her eyes couldn't help but widen. "Jun Yi is back? You mean that chubby kid?" She couldn't help but state out loud, but when she saw Ki Shin's face slightly darken she quickly took her words back.

Back in junior high, Ki Shin and Jun Yi were the best of friends. Ki Shin had even fought with some kids because of them taunting Jun Yi, while the latter would also fight with others who made fun of the former. Their friendship was extremely close.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to… can I come in?" She knew that saying anything more would just upset Ki Shin, so she asked to come in instead. Since she was here, might as well talk to Ki Shin for a bit.

Taking a step back, Shin looked at her with a smile, however, it was a little forced. "Sure, come in." Although he was considered friends with Song Zemin now, he still found it a little uncomfortable seeing her in the morning so suddenly.

"Anyways, where were you coming from? I don't remember you having any work in the morning or even having a night shift of sorts." Another thing he wanted to say but didn't was that even though their houses were close by, she would usually never need to walk by his house for anything.

Seeing the confusion on Shin's face, Zemin's face slightly reddened before speaking. "I was just visiting a friend and decided to take a long way back. I was just surprised to see such a nice car in front of your house." As she spoke, her face reddened once again. "A-ah, not saying that it isn't possible or anything…"

Shin noticed the weird state Zemin was in, he knew that something was up. When he was seeing her, she hated taking long walks and preferred taking shorter routes. She usually never woke up as early as 5 am let alone 3 am. Plus, it had been almost twenty minutes since Jun Yi left, so there was no way she could have just saw him.

"Alright Zemin, tell me what's up." He leaned back into his chair and looked at Song Zemin with some confusion.

Seeing that Shin wasn't going to buy her story, Song Zemin couldn't help but grit her teeth. "Well, here's the thing. You know how I live with my friend? She told me that she is moving in with her parents in a different city."

Hearing those words, Shin felt a little surprised. "Now that she is planning on leaving, I am going to have to find someone new to live with me since I can't pay the rent alone, and I was wondering if you could help me find someone… who needs a place to stay…" She felt extremely embarrassed saying these words.

She had many friends, but most of them were either married or too busy to really help her. Plus, she felt uncomfortable telling anyone about her predicament. The only person she had left to turn to was Ki Shin.

"You want me to help you find people to live with you?" Ki Shin couldn't completely understand why she would need his help. Even if she couldn't get her friends' help, there was no way he was able to help her. He had little to no friends himself. Plus, finding roommates was actually very easy, so she shouldn't even need help.

He couldn't help but take a deep breath. Slowly, he got up from his seat and walked towards the front door under the surprised gaze from Zemin. "Why don't we go for a little walk. Maybe we can get some coffee or even a bite to eat."

Ki Shin knew that it would be a little difficult to get Song Zemin to speak about her problems, so he decided to take her out for a drink or something in order to help her open up a little.

After a bit of hesitation, Zemin nodded her head and walked forward. Unlike Shin, Song Zemin was much better off. She was able to finish university and get herself a job as a financial advisor. If anything, she was making a good amount of money.

She would be able to get herself her own house if she wanted, which was why he knew something might be really bugging her.

Both of them walked slowly under the dark sky which was slowly brightening because of the rising sun. The atmosphere was a little tense, but Ki Shin didn't know how to break it. He was always an awkward person.

"Shin, do you still not know how to take initiative under such a mood? Hehe." Song Zemin giggled as she smiled sweetly at Ki Shin.

Shrugging his shoulders, he looked at Zemin with a small smile. "Everyone has their own skills, conversing is just mine." He stopped for a second before continuing. "How are things with you? Anything new?"

With a small laugh, Song Zemin answered his questions. "Things are alright. Just as busy as ever, but not as busy as you."

"Luckily, it's not as bad as before. I quit my morning job." When he spoke these words, he saw Zemin look at him with a bright smile.

"R-really? You really left your morning work? Doesn't that mean you will be free for most of the day?" After she said those words, she felt a little regret. Her face reddened once again.

Ignoring her current expression, Ki Shin couldn't help but have a relieved smile as he lightly stretched his arms. "Yeah, I could finally have some free time to myself. Plus, I got that new game Universe which I can finally play."

At the mention of Universe, Ki Shin couldn't help but smile even more brightly. His handsome face seemed much more excited when the current, most popular item in the marker was mentioned.

When the game Universe came into their conversation, even Song Zemin got excited. "You got Universe? We should play together sometime, maybe we can party and raid a dungeon or do a couple quests together." There was some hope in her eyes as she said those words.

"Oh look, we are here at the coffee shop. Let's quickly get a drink or something, I still need to do some work and even get some sleep, haha." Shin didn't reply to her and laughed slightly as he sped up a little.

Zemin pouted slightly as a little bit of sorrow clouded her eyes. She quickly chased after Shin and followed him into the shop.

With Shin paying, both of them quickly ordered their drinks and got some light snacks before finding a place to sit. Their location was by a window.

After taking a sip of his warm coffee, Shin looked at Zemin. "Now then, are you going to really tell me what's going on or are you going to beat around the bush again?"

This time, he didn't hide anything and spoke straightforwardly. He was not willing to get mixed up with Song Zemin again, plus he finally got time to relax so he really did not want to spoil his mood.

"W-well, the thing is, I kind of got…" She nibbled her pink lips as she spoke with some hesitation. "...fired."

*Cough Cough*

"Ah, hot, hot! Ssss! You got, what? How? When?" When he heard those words, he accidentally drank a mouthful, burning his tongue. Song Zemin quickly grabbed a bottle of water and passed it to him as she extended her hand and tried to wipe his chin.

Shin took the napkin from her hands and wiped his chin himself while looking at her with shock. "I made a big mistake at work and caused a huge problem at work. They left me off easy by just firing me. I think it's been almost a month now."

"A-a month? Weren't you like one of their best? Wait, what have you been doing since that happened?" He couldn't help but feel some concern.

Although he didn't have feelings for her anymore, he still didn't want to see her in trouble. "I was able to pull through with my savings, but they are running low. I can maybe only pay another month's rent before I have to move out."

The more she spoke, the more shocked Shin got. He thought his own problems were bad, but really, he was living alright. He had a home that was paid off.

"So…" At this point, Shin didn't even know what to say. He wasn't good at conversing with others.

"I was hoping that I could… possibly… if you're alright with it… maybe stay at your place? Of course, I will only stay for at most half a year, no, three months. Or until I can get myself a new job."

"This… ummm…" Now he was really at a loss. He still felt a little uncomfortable meeting his ex in the early morning, but now she wanted to live with him? He honestly did not want to have her live with him, but he also couldn't leave her stranded on the road.

"I know this is a lot to ask, especially with what happened between us, but I really have no where else to go. Most of my friends are married and the ones who aren't aren't really able to accommodate me. You know I would not ask you this if there wasn't any oth…" Before she could finish, she saw Shin waving his hand with a sigh.

"Alright, alright. You can stay at my place, but try to find a job as soon as possible." He didn't want to be rude and didn't really know how to decline her. If he did not say yes, he would feel immense guilt and it would bug his mind forever.

Song Zimen quickly walked forward and bowed to him many times with bits of tears in her eyes. "Thank you, thank you."

"It's alright. It's alright, Zimen. I am able to do this much at least. Plus, I have space so it really is no problem." Although he said this, Shin felt extremely weird on the inside. The last thing he expected was to live with his ex just when his life was getting back on track.

"Now then, when do you need to begin moving. I am free, so I can help you whenever you are ready." He also needed to clean the empty room and also get other things ready.

"We can start tomorrow if you would like. I am still in the midst of packing, but I should be able to finish by tonight." After a quick moment of contemplation, Song Zimen spoke with a smile. She truly felt grateful towards Ki Shin.

"Ok. Let us finish our coffee and head back then." Shin went back to drinking his coffee. Although the whole idea of Song Zimen Moving in with him was stressful, he decided to put it on the back of his mind since if it was going to happen, there was no point tiring himself over it.

He began to think back to all of the items that he got in the game and couldn't help but smile like a little boy. "A fricken slime pet! Hehe"
