Ch.6 — Meeting (Updated)

Amongst the 7th tribulation immortals that the ancestor had freed, 3 of them had grand domains. These kinds of domains are fusions between 3 different domains/laws or more. These elders were in fact the grand elders of the clan, 2nd only to the Immortal Ancestor. All of them were in fact close to transforming their grand domains into grand worlds of their own, becoming false deities.

One of them only needed a few more years to do so, unfortunately, his state of comprehension/meditation was broken. So it was highly unlikely he would be able to form it within the next century. Still, compared to ensuring the survival of the remnants of the black dragon clan, his own cultivation didn't matter to him.

Soon everyone was gathered and assembled to discuss their future course of action. All of them had assembled in the meeting hall of the clan palace in their humanoid forms to have a meeting.

The ancestor arrived at the head seat of the meeting room with Reina to his right and Adam to his left. Reina was wearing a feminine black hanfu with golden dragon embroidery, her wavy scarlet hair dripping down the back of it to her waist. Her sharp amber eyes looked at everyone in the room.

Adam was wearing a masculine version of the hanfu Reina was wearing. The only difference was the dragon embroidery was white. He had spiky orange hair with similar amber eyes.

Their positions at the table and their dress indicated that Reina was the matriarch and had made Adam the vice leader of the clan, in other words, the patriarch. To dragons things such as matriarchy or patriarchy don't matter, only strength does. So they were technically a parriarchal monarchy, the strongest willing to rule, rules. Patriarchs and Matriarchs alike have taken the main seat of the clan before.

Everyone else present was wearing white hanfu with golden dragon embroidery, with the 3 grand elders having violet dragon embroidery on their hanfu.

"Let the emergency meeting commence." The ancestor spoke before looking at the corner of the room where a curled-up baby dragon could be seen.

The dragon was passively pulling in spirit energy, cultivating while asleep. Reina had decided to name this baby Zane, Zane Black.

At this rate, the ancestor estimated the baby would have a breakthrough within the next year. This was actually quite fast, as most baby black dragons are born at the infant phase of the profound soul realm. They then naturally break through to the child phase at 5 to 7 years old, the adolescent phase at 13 to 16, and the adult phase at 18 to 25. As it was going, this baby would reach the child phase within a year. If it could keep this speed up consistently, it could probably reach the adult phase in just 7 to 10 years.

This would also accelerate the awakening of some of its bloodline memories and profound sense, a crude form of immortal sense. This would allow it to communicate with any other entity with a soul.

A grand elder began speaking, shaking him out of his thoughts. "We should gather the corpses of our dead clansmen and transform them into resources for the next generation. It's cruel but would benefit the clan greatly. The horns can be turned into weapons, the scales into defensive artifacts or talismans, the organs to create elixirs for body tempering, etc. Of course, we can also convert some of them into pills for the less talented."

Everyone nodded in agreement, even the ancestor. Hard times required hard calls. No one here wanted to desecrate the bodies of their kin or possibly their children/grandchildren. However, they understood the necessity of it.

"Who here's responsible for cataloging the treasuries?" The ancestor asked curiously.

Elder Amelia raised her hand, her Half-up Lace Rose Hairstyle scarlet hair dripping down to her neck.

"I am sir, so far I've managed to catalog all the spirit crystals, profound crystals, and immortal crystals." She spoke up.

"I cataloged everything in the profound vault." Elder Alexis spoke, though it wasn't that surprising.

Alexis had been dying to get unlimited access to the profound vault for centuries. Unfortunately, she had never drawn the white slip to be made the caretaker of the profound vault. She had even gotten the nickname of the mad scholar with how much she searched for knowledge.

In fact, she had only come back to the clan 10 years ago from a trip to the southern continent after exploring some ruins, temples, legacy dimensions, etc. This was mainly cause she wanted to undergo her 5th immortal tribulation and meditate on some knowledge she had come across.

"Alright, how many spirit crystals do we have?" A grand elder asked. Spirit crystals were used by cultivators below the immortal realm to cultivate, this was because spirit crystals contained pure spirit energy. These would become very important for the younger generations.

"100 million low-grade spirit crystals, around 75 million mid-grade spirit crystals, roughly 50 million high-grade spirit crystals, and approximately 1 million peak-grade spirit crystals." Amelia replied.

"Immortal Crystals?" The ancestor asked.

"Last year's tributes from the drake clans came in 2 weeks ago before the calamity it seems. Overall we have 100.3 million grade 1 immortal crystals, 75.6 million grade 2 crystals, 63.9 million grade 3 crystals, 37.1 million grade 4 crystals, 12.6 million grade 5 crystals, 576,372 grade 6 crystals, and 27,376 grade 7 crystals." Amelia informed.

Everyone nodded, immortal crystals weren't as important to an immortal as spirit crystals were to those below the immortal realm. To immortals, immortal spirit energy is merely a type of fuel for them. It wasn't necessary for them to cultivate. To advance in their cultivation, an immortal merely had to undergo a tribulation. It was preparing for these tribulations that was the hard part.

They only need them to practice immortal skills, but everyone here already had mastered a large repertoire of skills to an extent.

That said, even if one could breeze through the tribulations it wouldn't be the best move. Many would rather take the time to deepen their understanding of their laws and pick up new concepts. Many immortals have at least learned 5 of the 7 mortal concepts, and it is this understanding of the world that has allowed some of them to survive variant tribulations they otherwise would have not.
