Reviews and Box Office

The release of movie is a good thing but it is not very easy for the actors and director.

It was late 1 am when Amy reached home. She was very tired. She took a hot bath, changed into a simple dress and slumped on the bed. She didn't know for how long she slept, but when she opened her eyes, bright sunlight was coming from beneath the close curtains.

She stood up, freshed herself and went downstairs for the breakfast.

"Mandy, serve my breakfast."

Amy herself sat on the dining table waiting for the lunch. There were today's newspaper placed on the table. Mandy who was serving the breakfast spoke, "Miss, you looked very beautiful in yesterday's dress.

"How do you know."

"Of course, its in the paper. Your photo is printed."

Amy immediately picked up the newspaper and immediately found her photos on first page of "Los Angeles Times." There were many reviews about the the movie. It seems that reviews are all out.

Film critic James Berardinelli gave the film four out of four stars. In his review, he called it an "endlessly fascinating, wonderfully open-ended motion picture [that] will be remembered by many who see it as one of the best films of the year."

Berardinelli praised the film's backwards narrative, saying that "what really distinguishes this film is its brilliant, innovative structure", and noted that Guy Pearce gives an "astounding ... tight, and thoroughly convincing performance", he also wrote about Amy, "Amy Collins the new actress, she also gave a wonderful performances despite her not looking like an acting category actress."

Rob Blackwelder noted that "Nolan has a crackerjack command over the intricacies of this story. He makes every single element of the film a clue to the larger picture ... as the story edges back toward the origins of Leonard's quest"

Not all critics were impressed with the film's structure. Marjorie Baumgarten wrote, "In forward progression, the narrative would garner little interest, thus making the reverse storytelling a filmmaker's conceit. And I don't understand when why they used a beautiful actress in the movie when what we needed was a simple person. Amy Collin's presence was affecting the viewers from linking with the movie. It would be better if she chooses a more appropriate role next time."

Amy didn't know what to say about it. Is being beautiful a fault now. She ignored it and looked for the other reviews.

While Roger Ebert gave the film a favorable three out of four stars, he did not think it warranted multiple viewings. After watching Memento, he concluded that "Greater understanding helped on the plot level, but didn't enrich the viewing experience. Confusion is the state we are intended to be in."

After reading that maximum of the reviews were positive, Amy's hanging heart also relaxed a little. Now she wished that the box office may also be successful.

Soon the Memento's weekend box office came, it was 500k $. It was not much but was very good considering the movie's limited release and literary status. The box continued to increase in the second week with the increase in theaters.

The second week box office of the movie came out 2 million dollars. It means that movie has completed it's budget from just two weeks and the further money is all profit.

As the movie started to become famous, Amy's popularity also continue to soar. As a result of it, she was now sitting in Anna Wintour's office, the editor in chief of Vogue Magazine. Amy didn't even knew before 2 hours that she was going to meet Anan Wintour. She just received Richard's Call that he was going to pick her up in an hour and the next hour, she is here.

"Amazingly beautiful, the first time I saw your pictures of premiere, I had already decided my next Vogue's face." Anna commented looking at Amy.

Amy was a little embarrassed hearing her direct praise face to face, but also happy in her heart.

The negotiations went by successfully and Amy was decided as the next cover model of May next month.

"Amy move aside, look above."

"Yes that's it."

"Perfect."

"One more, one more."

James Heart continued to click pictures of Amy.

"Aren't we done now." Amy asked she was a little scared because of James eyes. He has clicking pictures of her for the past 4 hours. It's not that he is behaving inappropriate or harassing, it's just the strange craziness in his when he takes pictures of Amy like a precious jewel makes her a little scared.

"It's the last one." James answered.

Amy was unhappy. She's been hearing this for about an hour now. Anyway, the photoshoot continued and she was sent exhausted back by Mary and Richard.
