"Ah shoot, why does the meeting have to be rescheduled this early?"

I mutter to myself as I try to navigate myself from the crowds half running. My name is Ryo and I'm a 25 year old male that is now currently working as a project manager in my company. Today was the day where we would hold a meeting regarding our current project progress. It was supposed to take place at 2 in the afternoon but as I opened my phone and read the incoming email, somehow the higher up wanted it to be held this morning at 8. I didn't expect this at all so I quickly grabbed my shirt and my bag then dashed my way to the metro station.

"Dukk..."

"Ah excuse me" I said as I bumped to someone

"Dukk.."

"Hey, watch out!"

"Ah sorry, excuse me!"

I said again as I checked my watch, the needle says 7:14. Welp, at this point I'm going to be late for a few minutes but I'm sure my supervisor will understand, even though he is very disciplined and strict when it comes to work quality he is actually a kind and understanding person inside. I'm sure he won't give me a warning this time since they were the one who moved the schedule last minute. As I run, a crowd of people seems to be gathering in front of me, I cannot let them slow me down so I prepare myself to quickly force my way through them

"Excuse me, coming through!"

I said as I slip myself through the crowds

"Tooon...!! Tooon...!!"

When I was finally able to get through the crowd, I found myself standing in the middle of the crosswalk. As I took a glimpse to my right, a truck was hurling towards me with it's horn blaring and it's headlight brightly lit. At that moment my mind drifted and a thousand thoughts just flashes across my head like lightning.

I should have paid more attention when I was walking. I should have just slept earlier last night. I hope my supervisor won't get mad for abandoning the project like this. Is the team gonna be alright without me? I should've just been easier on myself and take more holiday breaks. Now that I think about it, I haven't realized my plan to travel to Europe this year. Ah, it would be nice if I could but that wouldn't happen now because I think I'm gonna die at this moment. Well, here I go. I closed my eyes and brace myself for impact. In the background I can hear people screaming and the sound of the truck horn and engine gets louder and louder until… Hmm?

I waited for a few seconds, nothing happened. Is the truck stopped? Am I saved? Still shocked by what happened I am hesitant to open my eyes but my curiosity gets the better of me and I muster the courage to open my eyes. When I did, all that I could see was a bright open white plane with no end in sight. When I looked down I found myself standing on a mushy cloud-like thing and when I looked up the sun was right in the middle of the sky, shining brightly in the blue sky with no clouds as far as I can see.

Where am I? I asked myself, I moved and grip my hand to make sure that what I'm seeing is real. It is, I can feel my hand and body like I normally would.

"Oh no, I think I'm dead"

"Correct, hi there Ryo"

I jumped, a soft girl's voice startled me from behind. When I turned I saw a beautiful girl with bright glowing blonde hair. She was wearing a beautiful elegant dress that exposed her shoulder. The dress were minimal and sleek, the skirt heights were slightly above her knee and a few jewels decorated her slim hand and neck.

"Are you okay, Ryo?" She said with a gentle smile

"Oh, yeah I'm fine… I'm sorry" I said as I threw my sight to the ground trying to compose myself.

"Ehehe… It's fine" She giggled "You must be surprised and confused by what just happened. I understand, I'll wait until you take a breath and calm down first"

"Ah, no I think I'm fine now. Can you tell me what happened?"

"Are you sure? Okay, uhm… I'm sorry to tell you this but you just died Ryo, a truck hit you and now you are in the primordial realm. A realm where a spirit go when they died"

"So I'm really dead huh..."

Crap, the project is going to turn into a disaster, I hope my supervisor will be able to find a good replacement for me.

"Uhm… Ryo?" She said again, breaking my daze.

"Yes?"

"Now that you have died, I will reincarnate you to another world different from your previous one. I have been watching you for your entire life and I know that you are a motivated and hard worker, perhaps a bit too hard. Anyway, so as a reward for your good abiding life I shall reward you and grant your wish. So if you don't mind, can you tell me what you wish?"

"My wish? hmm..." I thought to myself for a moment, I feel like I've seen this kind of situation before. What is it called again, hmmm…. Ah, Isekai? I think it was the craze nowadays as one of my coworkers told me but I haven't had much free time to watch any show lately.

Hmm, she said I would be reincarnated to another world but what kind of world is it going to be? and also she said that she is going to give me rewards. Should I ask for something like incredible wealth? or should I ask for unlimited power? Well then, I should go for that as that would definitely help me in any kind of world I would reincarnate in.

"I want unlimited power!" I said with confident

"Rejected" she said quickly with stoic smile

"Then, I want an incredible amount of gold and wealth!"

"Rejected again"

"What!? But I thought you said that you will grant me my wish"

"Sigh… " She sighed with a sad expression on her face "Yes I am Ryo, but I think you underestimated me as a goddess. I have been here watching over you for your entire life so I know that deep down, that is not your true wish. So Ryo, tell me, what is your true wish?"

"I… I uh… " Her words baffled me, it's as if she just pried into my heart and laid it open for me to see. I looked at her again, her smile returned as she waited patiently for my answer.

"I want to take more holidays and travel the world" I said finally

"Okay, then I shall grant that wish of yours Ryo Kujisaki. With the power bestowed upon myself as the supreme goddess, I will reincarnate you in the world of Rhose " As she utter those word I can feel my body float into the air, then a bright ray of light gently dance around me while my hand and feet slowly disintegrate into beautiful array of particles.

"Goodbye Ryo, until we meet again" She said as she waved her hand towards me

"Wait, what is your name?" I asked half shouting as my body float higher and higher

"My name?"

"Yes, your name!"

"My name is Esta!" she shouted as loud as she can

That was the last thing I heard before my vision finally fades into brightness.
