At this moment, a red Ferrari 488 suddenly stopped at the school gate.
"Wow, it's a Ferrari supercar, worth millions!"
"It looks like there's a handsome guy driving it with one hand. He looks so cool!"
As the Ferrari came to a stop, a young man, about 25 or 26 years old and standing 1.82 meters tall, walked directly towards Judy.
"Judy, where are you going? I'll give you a ride."
"No, Omar-senpai, I have an appointment today," Judy shook her head, refusing.
"Who did you make an appointment with? Why not invite them along? I know a great restaurant!"
"It's still a bit inconvenient," Judy remained unmoved despite the luxury car. A Ferrari 488 worth a few million was nothing; Arthur could buy several Ferraris just by gifting a few virtual presents.
Omar's face turned a bit ugly. He didn't expect Judy to be so hard to win over. Ever since he saw Judy at the last birthday party, Omar had been smitten with her. He swore to pursue her and even bet with his friends that he could win her over within half a month. But now, more than a week had passed with no progress. Even coming with a luxury car this time, he didn't expect to be rejected again, something that had never happened to him before.
At this moment, a clean-cut young man riding a bicycle slowly approached them.
"Judy, am I a bit late? I came right on time and didn't expect you to be early," Arthur said apologetically. He checked the time on his phone. It was exactly 6:30, not a minute more or less.
In the past, when Arthur asked Una out, she would be at least half an hour late, and he would usually arrive half an hour early. Thus, he would end up waiting for at least an hour for each date. After many anxious waits, Arthur got smarter and would tell the other person he had arrived early, then show up just on time to save a lot of boring waiting time.
Since today was his first time going out for dinner with Judy, he didn't play these little tricks and arrived exactly at 6:30, not a minute more or less. He didn't expect Judy, a goddess and school flower, to arrive ten minutes early!
As for the guy driving the Ferrari, it seemed he wanted to steal his girl.
"Omar-senpai, we're leaving now," Judy said politely, then sat on the back seat of Arthur's bicycle in front of everyone's shocked eyes.
"Oh my god! Judy would rather ride a bicycle than sit in a Ferrari. I think I'm starting to believe in love again!" said a boy with black-rimmed glasses, his face full of shock.
"I love it! Judy is truly our school flower. Her noble and aloof qualities set her apart from those gold diggers."
"From now on, I'm a fan of Judy-senpai!"
"Damn, isn't that Arthur, the guy everyone calls a simp, riding the bike with Judy? This..."
Watching Arthur ride away with Judy, Omar's face turned ashen. He could accept losing to another rich kid, but losing to a poor guy on a bicycle? What the hell? He even got ignored by that poor guy!
"Hmph! A poor guy trying to court a high-class beauty? You're asking for trouble," Omar snorted coldly and drove away with a gloomy face. He wouldn't give up on Judy. He would show that poor student what reality was.
"Judy, where shall we eat? You're treating today!" Arthur asked with a smile while riding the bicycle. He felt proud that Judy chose his bicycle over a Ferrari, and today's sunshine seemed exceptionally bright to him.
Who said girls would rather cry in a luxury car than laugh on a bicycle? Judy was sitting on his bicycle, and she was the school flower!
"There's a Japanese restaurant near the school. The food is pretty good. Let's have Japanese food!" Judy suggested.
"Alright!"
When they arrived at the Japanese restaurant, the environment was quite nice and the prices weren't high, affordable for regular students. Business was good. Judy seemed to particularly like sashimi and enjoyed adding wasabi, showing a strong preference for heavy flavors. Arthur's impression of her began to change, realizing that even goddesses have human qualities.
While they were chatting and eating, a good-looking couple walked in. The man was dressed in designer clothes, and the woman, though pretty, couldn't compare to Judy in terms of temperament, figure, or looks.
"Una?" Arthur felt a bit unlucky. Why did he keep running into this couple everywhere, from the Gucci store last time to this restaurant now?
Una was also surprised to see Arthur, but when she noticed Judy sitting with him, she was stunned. How could Arthur possibly have a date with Judy? It made no sense! Though her impression of Arthur had improved recently, she still saw him as a lowly simp. But who would have thought this simp could get a date with Judy, the top beauty of the literature department and the second-ranked school flower at The University of Chicago?
Could she have been wrong about Arthur all this time? Did he have some hidden exceptional qualities?
Una started to doubt herself. Even Stan, who had been pursuing Judy without success, began to question reality. How could this simp Arthur manage to dine with the school flower?
"Stan, maybe we should go somewhere else," Una tugged at Stan's sleeve, feeling uneasy.
"No need to change places. This restaurant is good, and we even have acquaintances here," Stan said as he walked to the table next to Arthur and Judy, his arm around Una's waist, flaunting his relationship. Yet his eyes kept glancing at Judy, clearly interested in her.
"Stan, you scumbag! What are you doing?" Suddenly, a chubby, fierce-looking girl stood up from a corner table and shouted.
"No... Nora, what are you doing here!" Stan stuttered, his face turning pale.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that? Who is this woman next to you?"
"And you, you slut, don't you know he has a girlfriend!"
"Stan, you scumbag! Haven't I treated you well? I buy you clothes, shoes, watches, even let you borrow my car, and you go behind my back to find a mistress, you damned bastard!"
The furious woman kicked Stan hard and then slapped Una across the face.
"Smack!"
Una was left in a daze from the slap.
