Losing a loved one can mean different things to different people. And coping with it is never easy. . But as the adage goes, that which doesn't break you makes your stronger. Each time you lose something or someone in your life, you build personal character. And it is this character that will carry you toward the good times to come—and give you more strength for the next time you experience a tough period in your life.
Today, Briana had decided to go to the cemetery to 'talk' to her sister about how her life has been(maybe even complain about the fact that her daughter is not yet married) . Her name was Lilly Crystal Williams, she was shot in her home in front of her children by her obsessed ex-boyfriend, because he was still angry that she decided to marry someone else instead of him. She had left him because of he was abusive. , even till this day Briana still could not accept the fact that her sister had died, the shared everything together they were like a single soul in two in one body, the day she was informed oh her sister's passing, the had planned to go on a girl's night out. she felt like she was dreaming and was begging someone to wake her up from this horrible dream that she was having. The death of her sister hit her hard, for her it was more than the loss of a sister, It was the loss of a sibling who she shared a unique history with , someone whom she always put her first before anything... She was more than a sister to her, she was her best friend, her soul mate. When death took her sister, for her it took more than a human being it also took away an integral part of her formative past, Briana called her God's greatest creation, someone that made Briana's every day life meaningful, someone that made Briana want to wake up every single day.
Her daughter has been afraid of the cemetery (maybe it was because when she was a kid her aunt, Lilly always told her that the Grim reaper lives there, so she was afraid of bumping into the grim reaper) But now she goes to the cemetery with her mom because she knew how meaningful this was for her mom. This place is so meaningful to Briana because her sister is lying there. To her, cemeteries are important to bringing perspective and serenity, because they bring us a connection to where we came from, help us realize the delicacy of life, and they help us to relax a little bit through their calmness. She has had a lot of downfalls and her sister was always the one that was there to pick her up, . The death of her sister has taught her that life is short and full of surprises, so one has to expect the unexpected and be prepared for anything, to Briana it did not matter how she prepares herself, she could never prepare for something as saddening as death.
They arrived at the cemetery, the place that separated the living from the dead, the place where she comes to every time she needs someone to talk to, because that is where her sister is, she's the only one that she could talk to without any fear or regret. It was a place that where she felt at ease, nobody has ever seen this side of Briana except her husband and daughter. For her , there is a certain connectedness that can only be experienced at the cemetery . Every time she talks to her sister, she feels like her sister is there with her physically, even though when she talks there is nothing but silence, but in her heart her sister was and will always be there for her whenever she needs her. They walked to where Lily's grave it was under a big tree, the grave was covered in different kinds of flowers, the tombstone was written 'in loving memory of Lily Crystal Williams, loving mother, daughter and sister. (1979-2018).' her friends and family would always talk about how Lily's death was sudden and she'd died at a young age. Amara was holding white lilies since they were lily's favorite. Briana kneeled down on the ground brushing her blue jeans, Amara put the flower on the grave. Briana cleared her throat. "Hey sis.... I hope that you can hear me, just in case you are wondering I've been doing great but it's not the same without you here.... Ruby, Jade and Lyric(Lily's children) are doing well too, they've been asking me when you're going to... Come back, I still haven't given them an answer yet. I hope that you are watching over them.... And yeah, your niece still hasn't gotten married yet. " Briana said, Amara kept quiet even though she wanted to answer her mother, she decided to save it for when they leave the cemetery." I wish I could stay here a little longer but, I have a lot to do... I miss you... We all do, I'll come back later I love you sis" they walked to their car and they got in." Mom! Seriously," Amara said looking at her mother in disbelief" what is it now" her mother asked pretending to not know what Amara was talking about. " did you really have yo say that to her , I don't think that aunt Lily would want to hear it." she said folding her arms in 'anger' "what... I'm sure that she would have wanted the same thing too..." She said shrugging her shoulders. "But you don't have to constantly remind me that I'm not married." she said. "I'm never going to stop if you don't get married." She Said "It's not easy to find a guy who wants to get married now." Amara said. "Even Cole. Don't tell me I've wasted my time arranging a date with him." Briana said. "We're not yet dating, he hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend yet so I can't promise you we're going to get married." Amara said. "OH he's such an ass, you're beautiful, you're rich, you've got a great personality even though you can be a bitch sometimes.... I'm going to give him a call ana he better have a good reason for making you wait like this, it has already been a week." Briana said in a loud voice." I'll ignore what you just said about me being a bitch, mom you can't just meet someone and then after a week you start dating with them.. You have to get to know them first, I only know a few things about Cole, and he only knows a few things about meso don't rush him. " She said trying to make her mom understand." Look young lady you're not the one who wants grandkids I am... So if I have to go to his house and drag him by his ear then I'll gladly do so. " She said" And who's going to carry those grand children for nine months, huh? " She said raising her eyebrow." OH, shoosh. Stop being a drama queen. " Her mother said(even though she was the one being a drama queen.)" Uhm, hello. Who's being the drama queen here? You can't seriously force someone to get married, nobody forced you to get married.. You chose to do so, do if it doesn't work out with Cole then I'm not going to force myself." She said. "Whatever." Briana said accepting defeat (for now, because this was not the end) Amara was glad that her mother finally decided to shut up, but she knew that this was not the end. Amara's phone rang she looked at the caller ID and it was a private number, she looked at her mother, "Should I.... Or.." she asked her mother because she was not sure if she should answer the phone or not. Her mother responded by nodding her head, Amara had a bad feeling about this but she answered it anyway. "Look who finally decided to answer her... Don't ask who I am I just want to pass a message from someone to you, it goes as follows 'Your time of happiness and glory will come to an end in the blink of an eye, and you will lose the things that you hold dear in your heart.... Enjoy the spotlight while you still have time' that's all bye" the person ended the call. Amara looked at her phone, and she couldn't call that person, she and her mother can only exchange looks with each other they were both speechless, maybe Amara's happiness was going to end, who knows.
