Relationship Talk

It's been a few days since the gold coin incident, which I can't believe has way more value than the fairy crystal.

I tried to object that she gave me too much of the gold coins, however she said that the books I bought for her were worth that much.

After all, in her perspective, she has obtained an entirely different set of knowledge that her people don't.

Making it completely priceless, the fact that she could learn a language from a different world is a plus.

While I was cooking, I suddenly heard Mikami complaining about not having a girlfriend again. At this point I have gotten used to it, however this time it was quite a bit different from the rest.

"My kouhai got himself a girlfriend! I knew he was showing off when he invited me to eat in a restaurant near our workplace! Not to mention his girlfriend is such a hottie too!" Mikami cried in envy alongside bitterness as he told his friends about it.

And those 'friends' certainly don't care about his plight.

Saitama was indifferent about not having a girlfriend, while Suzuki could only look at his friend awkwardly, not sure what to say.

While having someone in a relationship crossed his mind quite a few times, he never really bothered to work on it because he's extremely busy with his work and hardly had time to be in a relationship.

Suzuki was just too damn busy thinking of getting into a relationship, how could he enter such a thing when he literally almost doesn't have time for himself.

Saitama however, has no interest being in a relationship or whatsoever, his time, money and space would be greatly reduced if he enters into a romantic relationship.

It wasn't like he isn't interested in women, he just feels like dating for them is such a pain, not to mention lately he has become more and more emotionless.

He wasn't sure if he could even feel 'love' or something because his emotions are getting muted day by day.

"What about the restaurant though? Was it better than this one?"

"You're totally ignoring the subject, but hell no, after eating here daily the food in that restaurant felt tasteless compared to what Akihiko cooks."

"Same, after tasting the meals here I could never get back eating those tasteless food paste ever again." Suzuki shuddered at himself thinking about going back to eating those so-called 'meal' in a form of liquid paste.

Hearing those praises coming from my loyal customers, I couldn't help but swell in pride. Either way it seems that Mikami isn't done with the previous subject.

"Anyway! Let's get back to the girlfriend subject!" Mikami insisted on this particular subject.

Suzuki looked uncomfortable with that, while Saitama became even more emotionless.

"Have guys been in a relationship before?" Mikami said.

Saitama was the first to reply. "No, I wasn't really interested in dating anyone."

Considering it was Saitama, everyone wasn't surprised by that answer.

This time it was Suzuki.

"Well…I won't lie, dating someone did cross my mind multiple times.. however, I didn't really have time to pursue anyone, not to mention I'm not really that confident of my look.."

Okay, that's a really sad and depressing answer.

Mikami could understand his plight, at least the majority of it, then he turned his attention to the teenagers. "What about you kids?"

"No, not really…with my looks who would want to date me anyway?" Subaru said.

"A girl with the same look duh."

"Oi!"

Kirito's sarcastic comment truly hit a nerve in Subaru.

"What are you getting annoyed about? It's more of a compliment than an insult, at least I didn't say that you're going to stay single forever or something."

He isn't wrong about that, but it still annoyed Subaru regardless. "Oh yeah? What about you Mr. Hacker?"

And that struck a chord.

"It's not my fault that I have the advantage okay?!" Kirito said, irritated.

The players of SAO called him hacker because of his buff that he acquired from the store, while they're still at single digit levels he's already at level 20.

Not to mention the damage buff, he's basically the strongest player that's to the buffs that the food gave him.

It didn't help the fact that he literally solo'd the floor boss by himself due to his overwhelming level and damage.

It took 3 hits to kill the boss and many people witnessed what he did.

At first people called him Beater for it, however after killing multiple floor bosses by his own people started calling him hacker.

"That's really the thing you're going to focus on..? And not the dating part?" Subaru was speechless.

"Yes, but as for Mikami's question…well…" Kirito became a bit flustered for a bit.

Subaru and the rest eyes widened at Kirito's flustered look.

"Don't tell me you have a girlfriend?!" Subaru exclaimed in shock.

"What-?! No! I didn't say that!" He quickly denied.

"Then what's with the flustered look?!"

"It's because I got invited to a date by a girl!" Kirito admitted with a red face.

It was sufficient to say that everyone was shocked at this news.

"Oh FUCK! You're a normie then!" Subaru shouted in jealousy.

"Shush, gotta know what happened next. So Kirito, did you accept?" It was surprising that the person who asked was Saitama despite claiming he had no interest in romance.

Hearing that, the others leaned closer to hear his answer.

"W-well obviously I did…there's no reason for me to decline, but I'm honestly nervous because this is the first time someone asked me out." Kirito admits.

While everyone was still processing, suddenly Denji chipped in.

"Was she hot..?"

"Is that really important..?!"

"Yes, yes it is." This time it was Mikami.

As much as I'd like to say that looks doesn't matter, it would be a lie for me to say that.

After all, appearance is a vital part of what the other person's impression of you is going to be.

Kirito let out a sigh, and decided to show a picture of the girl who asked him out. "Why don't you decide it for yourself then?"

As soon as the image was shown, it was quite obvious the majority of the guys were seething in jealousy.

"What the hell?! That hottie asked you out?!"

"She's even more beautiful than some idol back in my world!"

"What did you do for that girl to ask you out anyway?" Suzuki asked curiously.

"Oh, it wasn't really anything special…I just saved her from dying." Kirito answered like it wasn't a big deal.

"What do you mean it wasn't special?! You saved her life!" Subaru looks at him in disbelief.

"I-i mean…she's not the first person I saved, ever since I got the level advantage I decided to help those who needed it and not just live for my own survival."

"Dude, I know I was joking about your life being an anime protagonist but looking at it right now makes me think that statement isn't exactly inaccurate…"

And after that the two started arguing.

While the two were 'fighting', this time I left the kitchen and brought the dishes I cooked and decided to ask Denji after putting the food on the table.

"So, what about you Denji?"

"A girlfriend? Nah, I never had those."

Not really surprising considering his upbringing, then I decided to change my question. "Then, if you have a girlfriend, what do you want them to look like?"

Denji blinked a couple times before answering. "I don't care much about how they look or their personality. I just wanted a girl that could treat me like a decent human being."

That was a very unexpected answer coming from him. I thought he'd say a beautiful girl with big boobs or something.

But apparently he just wanted a girl that could treat him right.

And I actually supported him for that idea. "Well hopefully you'll get what you wish for."

"Thanks!" Denji smiled at me with his sharp teeth.

After the talk about having a girlfriend or not, which excluded me by the way and would prefer it that way.

A new guest arrived, to their surprise it was a girl with light red hair and was looking at them like they were some sort of alien or something.

Now that I think about it, this is the first time a girl visited this place with the guys around.

Her shock was visible to anyone, suddenly she said something a bit too obvious. "Are you guys alive?"

If it wasn't for the fact that her voice sounded innocent and hopefully I would have thought she's joking or something.

I decided to answer her. "Of course we are, what's with the question?"

Suddenly without a warning tears started falling out of her eyes. "Oh…ah…i-im glad.. really glad…"

Then suddenly everyone glared at me like it was my fault.
