CHAPTER 49
It was Thursday morning, and I was just getting out of the shower. Aside from the music I was playing inside the bathroom, the first voice I heard from outside was Detective Sayer’s.
I have not totally recovered from my bed rest after what happened in the supermarket that day. It was still unclear to me how it happened, but I just had to listen to my doctor’s advice. Just Rio’s unexpected news when he visited me at home made me wonder about the shuffled occurrences in this town. Sometimes, even our own speculations were questionable to us. At some point, we just want to throw a towel for a more definite reason.
I stepped out of my bathroom after drying myself up. I stepped out into my walk-in closet with my bathrobe and a towel for my hair. While getting ready, I wondered why Detective Sayer was doing in our house at that early hour.
