Chapter 1: smile and relax

In a deserted train  a young orange haired girl awakes from her slumber adjusting herself and grabbing her things. It was pitch black as expected.

She chuckled as she looks at the poster.

"Ohara: the country town for country people"not exactly being subtle are you? She said with a smirk as the train finally stopped there.

She grabbed her large bookbag and slung it over her shoulder as she got off the train and sat on a bench.

The young girl went on her phone and made a call. 

"Yo it's Rena I'm at the station… oh ok I'll be sitting on the bench then don't keep a girl waiting." She said before hanging up.

After a few minutes she sees a white mustang to her right and an old man comes out with his fedora and suit to match the color of the car.

"Ah yes you must be Rena correct?" The old man said as the girl walked up to him.

"Correct, I'm Rena Kousaka! You must be Gohan right like from the anime?"

The old man chuckled "no no just your regular old man although if I am I hope there's no full moon tonight." The old man laughed at his joke and Rena chuckled.

"Anyway c'mon get in, we don't want it to be too dark." She put her things in the trunk and rode shotgun with Gohan.

"Rena why did you come here? If I may ask, ``You're a city girl. I was surprised when you accepted the job knowing you would have to change highschools too."

"Well I wasn't there for long. I got ill and missed a lot of dates that I had to change schools anyway and being in Ohara was just a change of scenery."

"I'm sorry to hear that you got sick. We may just be a restaurant but if you ever get sick again please take all the time you need."

Rena smiled at the followed by a sigh "I'm fine now don't worry thank you for doing this I appreciate it."

"Oh it's no problem at all. I know Hikari as well. She's very beautiful and her inn is a lovely place to live in. I do wonder how you got a free stay though? The Hikari I know wants full payments."

Rena just smirked "Oh? You only did this for me just so you can have a nice peek at Hikari?"

Gohan just laughed "Rena I'm not peeking at her in a perverted way I just admire her beauty! Honest!"

(Glad I changed the topic) Rena thought to herself. As they stopped at Hikari's place. It was the average size of a house.

Once there Gohan holds the door open and a woman is at the front desk looking at them with a smile.

"Ah Gohan thanks for bringing Rena I was gonna get dressed and do it myself." Hikari said with a toothpick in her mouth.

"It's no problem Hikari, she's my future employee after all it's the least I can do in my old age."

"Heh heh you've done enough thank you Gohan you should go and get some rest." 

Gohan yawned "yeah you have a point the restaurant won't be open today anyway so I'll get all the sleep I can get. I'll see you tomorrow after school Rena!"

And so the old man left and the smiles the two ladies had quickly disappeared. 

"Put your bag in your room and let's have a little chat ok?" Is all Hikari said before walking off.

Rena does as she is told and walks to find Hikari sitting down on the mat with 2 cups of coffee on a small table.

"Do you like coffee? If not sorry it's all I got right now alright?"

"It's ok aunt Hikari, coffee is just ok."

"Please don't call me that  , it makes me sound really old moving on what did you tell Gohan?" Hikari asked before taking a sip of her coffee.

Rena hadn't looked at her since she walked in  just looking at the bland black coffee. "I told him I was sick and he bought it."

"Ah, I had a few of those in my day. Remember you're gonna be at  Sayonara tomorrow don't worry I work there so I'll drive you and pick you up."

Rena just nodded and Hikari stretched her arms before saying. "I have a plan for you."

"Plan for me? What is it?" Rena said, still not looking at Hikari.

"Well at the school we have a student council but they don't show up to any meetings and I feel like students would relate more to other students rather than old men or women see what I'm getting at?"

"So you want me to make a student council?"

"Mhm or it could just be you a 1 person council that's something that's never been done before." Hikari said with a smirk while Rena finally looked at her with a blank stare.

"Yeah you've never seen it because that's not what a council is. It means it's a body of people." Rena said deadpan

"Well aren't you a body of people so I'm right!" Rena just facepalmed "Hikari no that's not what it means it's a group it has to be a group for it to be a council."

Hikari just sighs "you kids and your Google whatever happened to dictionaries I remember those back in my day."

"YOUR 25!" Rena shouted….and after that she cracked a smile and laughed and really laughed this wasn't a chuckle.

"Was that all just to make me laugh? Rena said before taking a minute to catch her breath

Hikari just smiled and let her relax, taking 1 last sip of coffee. "Rena, my offer was serious. I think having you help the students would be a big help for not only them but you as well if you're interested."

"I'll do it sounds like fun and Hikari…..thank you for that I'm gonna go unpack now."

Hikari just leaned back (that girl's not insane so my big sister lied to me again. She's clearly damaged by what she did, poor girl but she has to live with it for the rest of her life.) Hikari got up and sigh 

(Will you move on Rena Kousaka or will you be stuck in the past? I'm intrigued to find out.) 

Rena thought to herself before she closed the door
