After long moments of arguing with Max, with him asking Rosa to bring me back to the pack’s main house to rest while I insisted on following him, he finally relented and allowed me to go with him to meet David after I pointed out that being with him would be the best kind of protection for me and our unborn pups.
On the way to the prison, Max finally told me what they had discovered at the border, and I was shocked when he told me that Lina was dead.
”Let’s keep David out of the loop for the time being,” he suggested. “It would be beneficial for us to learn more from him since he has a connection with Lina.”
After the trial, Max changed his mind about tossing David away from the pack. Instead, he decided to imprison him, and it seemed like his decision at that time was right, as David still had some use for us.
I nodded in agreement and leaned against him, thinking of Lina’s death and Dagon’s unknown reason for wanting to kill me.
