CHAPTER 23

　　Stefan

　　I felt nervous.

　　"Hello, Sara," I answered.

　　"Stefan, I've decided. Can we meet and talk? I'll be home soon."

　　Home. God, no.

　　"I'm not at home, Sara. But I'll be back tomorrow."

　　I sighed. I knew this would trigger another argument.

　　"Where are you, Stefan? Please tell me you haven't gone back to see her. Please, Stefan, tell me!" she pleaded.

　　I could have lied to her, but I didn't want to. I knew that if I lied, Sara would eventually find out.

　　"Yes, Sara. I came to see her to talk about the baby, but I couldn't have a conversation with her. I'll be back tomorrow. Don't be mad at me, please. I beg you. I don't want to fight with you, my love."

　　Scott gave me a dirty look. I knew he didn't like how I spoke to Sara, especially after I almost made love to Kara.

　　"Why didn't you tell me you were going to see her again? You just got back home, and you left again! You took advantage of the few days I took off to go look for her."
