(5)Complicated is my middle name

Blaze's POV:

I continue to pace back and forth in the kitchen, continuously glancing at Pyro. "Explain!"

I was watching him, waiting for something to happen. Today is supposed to be the best day of my life, and I find out I'm mated to a wolf! He's not even human!

I glare down at Pyro when he doesn't move and instead, stares at the floor. "Either find a way to explain or you can leave now and never come back!" Even though these words pained me, I knew it had to be said to convince him to explain.

All of a sudden he began to glow and his figure began to get blurry. In a flash of light Pyro was no longer a wolf. No, he was a human.

"Bu-wait-yo.....what?" I stuttered out. I felt butterflies in my stomach, he was absolutely hot. He had blazing blue eyes that pierced into your soul, coffee-colored hair, and a killer body. I could tell he had abs and plenty of muscle. He had a strong sharp jawline. I swear I was practically drooling over him. His 6-foot frame towered over me.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. I was told to protect you with my life, I never knew something like this would happen" he spoke like he was many years older than me. Like he was from a different time. His voice, although, was deep and alluring.

"Well....this is...weird. How old are you?" I questioned kind of worried. "18 physically. Although mentally I am 167. I was made immortal a long time ago. I wondered this earth without purpose until the moon goddess called upon me for a task" oh crap... This is horrible! I plopped onto the floor and put my head in my hands. "This is just too complicated" I mumbled sadly. My perfect day has been ruined.

Of course, I would get a mate that was too old for me! He's technically an adult while I'm a child. "Well, I guess I don't get my happily every after, after all," I say as I make my way back to the bed.

He follows and sits beside me as I lay down. "I'm sure we can possibly find a way to make this work. We are mates, we only get one chance at this kind of thing" he says softly.

"Yes it could work, but at what cost? You've been forced to protect me, I know that isn't at all what you wish to do. And now we find out we are mates? You're stuck with me, and for that, I am truly sorry" I mumbled, and then close my eyes.

"Bu-" I cut him off with a sigh. "Please. Just leave. Don't make this any harder. I'm giving you an out, you might want to take it." He huffed in annoyance and walked out angrily. "If that is what you want! Fine!" He yelled over his shoulder.

As soon as he was out of sight, I began to sob loudly. My whole body shook with sobs, my face was soaked in seconds. I want him so much it hurts. But who would want to be stuck with me for the rest of their lives?

I sniff and began to wipe away my tears. I get out of bed and head towards the living room looking for Pyro. I let out a dry sob when I realized he wasn't there. I collapse to the floor and sob harder.

"Why am I never enough!" I yell out to no one in particular. Poor darling, she's been through so much. I jump up startled and look around. "Whos there!?" I seriously hope no one answers!

Oooh, can she hear me?! How splendid this is! I'm going crazy! "Yes I can hear you, but where are you!" At this, I get up and began walking around. I freeze when I see a small mouse looking up at me. It was a small gray field mouse, and it was sitting on my bed. "Umm.." I mumble out staring at it with wide eyes.

You act as you've never seen a mouse before. My apologies for startling you. That was not my intention.

I continue to just stare at the small female mouse. Huh, well this is new... I thought. The small mouse nodded. What the heck! She shouldn't be able to hear me! I sat down on the floor, the mouse jumped down and sat in front of me.

"It's alright, it is only your mind I can read. I guess the moon goddess gave you a gift, probably sensing your distress. I nodded and smiled down at the small thing. Oh! Where are my manners! My name is Alenor, what is yours? I smile and hold out my pinky for her to shake, she sets her paw on it while I 'speak' My name is Blaze, it is nice to meet you Alenor".

I smile down at the small mouse and move my hand away from her. I sigh and lay back. I love him. But he would never love me back. I'm too young for him, and I'm not good enough. I don't deserve him.

He is already forced to protect me, why would he want to be forced to love me too?. I have no idea why I'm talking to a mouse about this, but I need someone.

"Well, I'm not very good with human relationship advice, but I have to say, shouldn't you allow him to choose to love you or not? I think about this for a while and nod, with a sad smile on my face I stand up.

I turn around and walk straight into the wall. Wait...the wall is breathing. "Eeep! I'm soo sorry! I- I- should have loo- ugh im- uh, sorry!" I silently curse under my breath for stuttering so much.

He chuckles loudly, causing a blush to rush up my neck and to my cheeks. "It's alright sweetheart" oh god his voice! I look up at him to see that he was already looking at me with a smile on his face. Quickly that smile was wiped away.

"I just came to get some of my things." I look down and feel tears begin to gather in my eyes. I push them back and force myself to answer. "O-okay".

Ugh! Why does my voice choose now to crack! I hope he doesn't notice because then he would know I had feelings for him. And that would cause him to think that he had to stay.

"I'm sorry for what I said earlier. I- I was just scared.." I trailed off and looked everywhere but at him. I heard him sigh and felt his hand on my chin.

He forced me to look at him, he had a confused frown on his face. "So do you want this to work or-" I cut him off by smashing my lips to his.
