The First Dwarf That Became King

It was dark all around me as I was being guided to the bottom of a stairwell along with all of the other dragons and I was still unable to move due to the influence of the dark mage's control color.

As I made it to the bottom of the stairs I noticed that there was some kind of lab that was being guided to. In this lab I could see the crater of a dormant volcano. From the inactive center the blood elf head added some kind of pipes that led to lanterns that were hanging from the ceiling. The lanterns glowed a dark red color instead of the typical yellowish white that oil based lights normally seemed to glow.

"Each of you get in one of those cages that I have over there". The blood elf said as he pointed at a set of large circular cages that were open on a balcony that was over the crater of lava.

I followed his instructions and got in the first cage and so all of the other dragons did as he requested without hesitation.

The blood elf began to recite a poem while he was mixing different herbs thenn his vials that he had used to store them inside.

The blood elf king rose up from his throne to meet with those of his kind all day

They each became entitled by his presence every day in an urge to hear everything that he has to say.

He spreads his words of wisdom to everyone who was present and was willing to hear.

The only people that did not listen were those different races no matter their tier.

He chose not to take everything they said about him to his heart because he did not want to ignore his responsibilities and cause his kingdom to fall apart.

No matter how hard he tried there were those who did not believe in him and wanted the social power for themselves and so they started having a civil war so that they could rip out the blood elf king's heart.

The blood elf went on quoting a variety of different poems some that had pattern and some like the last one they did not even have a rhythm as if he was just quoting past events in a somewhat poetic form.

I wanted to ignore everything that he was saying but I could not cancel out the sound so that I could meditate but I was also intrigued since I was raised to absorb all forms of knowledge.

"Come here now". Said angrily as he looked at a dragon that was purely White and it came over to him.

Then he began to slowly tear the dragon's body apart and examine different components of the severed body parts.

The fact that the dragon was not moving or yelling in pain after getting a body part removed definitely told me that his body was not going to be react to anything due to the intense mind control that he was currently under.

Everyone had been experimented upon and healed repetitively in order to keep them alive except for myself. Every time that it came around to me getting selected he skipped me and just started over again with the first one as if there was something in particular he had planned for me that was going to be more than a dozen times more gruesome and intense than what the others were currently going through.

I could then hear footsteps coming down the dark stairwell and into the experimental room of the temple. And the footsteps began to get closer to me I could hear the heavy metal clanking against the stone steps which told me that someone was wearing heavy armor due to how slow they were advancing.

As the steps begin to get closer the blood elf mage Rose to his feet and stopped working. I then saw him grab a vial of black colored blood that was inside a cabinet and place it where the old blood vial was that he had sacrificed to create the blood barrier against the first dragon that tried to attack him.

"So this is where the dragons where off to. I would have gotten here sooner but my informants were slightly off on a few details. that means that I will have to discipline them whenever I get back home." A young dwarf that had a black beard that went down all the way to the upper area of his chest and was tied into two knots one on the left and one on the right side of his face.

This dwarf war a full set of plate mail armor that was colored entirely black. On his back he had a shield and an axe. I could tell that he was definitely a member of a wealthy family just by looking at the grade of armor and weapons that he wore.

"If you believe that you can stop me be my guest but it will not be easy after all you are just a dwarf. Since your race has no affinity towards magic this will be easy for me to finish and get back to my important work". The blood elf mage said as he waved his staff and a magical barrier that was made out of blood that was in one of his rings surrounding the dwarf.

"With the might of my ancestors behind me as well as the crafting skills of my village; I will breakthrough this barrier of blood magic in one swipe of my axe." The drawer for your said is he grabbed his ax and I noticed that some ancient text began to Glow White on the axe.

The blood barrier then slowly started to dissipate and vanish after one solid swing of the dwarf's axe.

"How is that possible!!" The mage yield.

"The reason why that is possible is because despite the fact that yes my race cannot use magic when it comes to casting but my specific village of dwarves have invented the use of something known as magic runes where we take magical or and apply it to the hilts of our weapons that creates a magical aura behind every attack.

You will have to think out of the box to defeat me I am ranked as one of the most skilled swordsman in my village".

Before the blood elf was able to cast another blood magic spell the dwarf rushed him and cut his body into one hundred tiny pieces.

He then grabbed a longsword that was on his waist and placed it in the skull of the fallen blood elf.

"There now you can no longer return to the world the living through the use of necromancy and blood magic as long as this sword stays in place". The dwarf where you said as all of the control colors shattered and I was finally able to move freely.

"Thank you very much for saving us for that evil mage. Can I have the name of the dwarf that saved us?" I asked him.

"Oh my name is Austroon; and it was my honor to aid the great dragons in their time of need." He said as he bowed to me.

After the dark mage had been defeated in order to make sure that the sword was never removed from the skull of the dark mage Austroon built a city it and united the dwarf clans and villages.

The dragons also scattered around the world and fell in love with members of other races. While they did that I stayed with king Austroon and helped him form a group of elite soldiers called The Dragon Guard.

"So that is how it all when down". I said to everyone that was in the catacombs with me.

"I will make it my mission to help you with ensuring that nobody removes the sword from it's spot". Gilltrude said to me.

"If you guys can ensure that I will help you with the current situation envalving this wife of Zog." I said as we left the catacombs.

Would this current king Austroon be as kind and patient as his greatgrandfather was all those years ago or would he allow the power to go to his head.
