Krack, krack.
I heard the crackling of a carriage's wheels as awareness about myself seeped into me.
I slowly creaked my eyes open, not hurrying it up, trying to make this slumber last for even a second more, that's all I need. To rest.
"How did we get a carriage?" I asked as I saw the hood of the wagon sheltering me from the sun's rays.
"Oh, you're awake, Helis." Mai's melodious voice entered my ears as I finally took in my surroundings.
"Uh, yeah," I nodded as I sat up. My mouth was dry as heck and my lips were all chapped, I was also soaked in sweat.
I was parched and in need of water, in other words.
"Where are we right now?" I asked, "And how long was I out for?" I questioned as I rubbed my eyes with the lower part of my palms.
"We're traveling back to the city of Raly… Where we first began the journey of the eighth floor." She thinned her lips as she ended her sentence.
