After I saw the system upgrade notification I waited patiently. This was the first time the system had undergone an upgrade. I started to look at the time on the system interface. I tried to ask the system what the time was to see if there would be a reply but there but it remained silent. after that, I opened the System interface and it looked the Same as before. then I opened the shop section and In the shop section, there was an interface with a keyboard to search with the option to add filters to the Search.

I decided to search for healing skills but was overwhelmed by the sheer number of options like Divine Wind Recovery, Bloodline Ancestral Healing, Stellar Light Mending, Elemental Surge Repair, Spirit Flame Healing, and Frostbite Rejuvenation. With so many choices and varying prices, it was tough to decide. 

I filtered my search to only show healing skills involving Qi energy and priced under 10,000 source points. The results were more manageable, but I still missed the convenience of the system's AI

After checking the system interface, I decided to wait for the system countdown to finish.

Finally, the countdown reached zero.

My status had changed, showing new details like source level and experience required for advancement. I had already accumulated 3 XP, but I needed 1,000 XP to reach Source Level 2. 

"System, how did I get these 3 XP, and how do I increase them? Also, what's the use of increasing my source?" I asked.

<Host's 1 source is generating Qi energy passively, which grants XP every ten seconds. This currently the only way to increase your level. Additional methods may be revealed as conditions are met.>

With the new understanding, I realized that increasing my source level was crucial. I could collect 10,000 XP in approximately 3.17 hours, making this a manageable task. I decided to remain in the cave, continue cultivating, and let my source level increase naturally.

I resumed my meditation, focusing on absorbing Qi energy through my skin. The process was both invigorating and challenging. My body was becoming accustomed to the Qi, and though the sensation was slightly painful, it was a sign that the energy was working.

Hours slipped by unnoticed as I sank deeper into my cultivation. The cave around me was quiet except for the sounds of the animals coming from outside. The Qi in the environment felt richer, and I could sense it working through my body, enhancing my skin's resilience. 

After a little over three hours, I was jolted out of my deep focus by a soft sound from the system.

The level-up gifts were a pleasant surprise. The additional 10,000 source points were much appreciated from the system, and the Enhanced Energy Absorption skill was also too good. This was the first-time system gave me anything for free that I was not able to believe. I asked system if I will get this free reward every time when I level up.

The value of this skill was clear. Absorbing energy more quickly would significantly enhance my cultivation speed, making the gruelling body-tempering process more manageable.

I took a moment to reflect on the progress I'd made. With Source Level 2, The XP required for the next level had increased I needed 10,000 XP but now I had a larger capacity for storing source points. 

"System, is there anything else I should know now that my source level has increased?" I asked.

The system's advice was reassuring. I knew the path ahead would be challenging, but with my new body, cultivation knowledge, and growing source, I was ready for it. The sect entrance exam was tomorrow, and I was determined to be prepared.

I decided to continue cultivating in the cave, making the most of the Enhanced Energy Absorption skill. Each moment spent in meditation will increase my cultivation.
