Chapter XXI: celebration

The moment John had been waiting for had finally arrived. The Academy of Berk was filled with Vikings who had gathered to witness the deed John had done.

Astrid Know what will happen so she plays along

At that moment, John turned to Astrid, who looked at him with admiration and love. John took a ring from her pocket and, kneeling, asked her to be his wife. His words were sincere and passionate, promising to share their lives, no matter what challenges they faced.

The crowd erupts in applause and cheers, and John and Astrid hug each other, excited. Stoick smiles and adds: "May your love and courage continue to guide you in this new stage of your lives. May your commitment be an example for all of us and together face the challenges that the future brings."

In the depths of the night, under the glow of the moon on the island of Berk, John approached Hiccup, who was busy mentally preparing for his upcoming battle against the fearsome Nightmare, the nocturnal nightmare dragon.

John: (In a serious tone) " Hiccup, I know you're about to face one of the most difficult tests of your life. Fighting the monstrous Nightmare is a monumental task, but I'm sure you're up to it."

Hiccup: (Nodding determinedly) " Thanks, John. It means a lot to me. This fight is a challenge I can't avoid."

John: (With a smile) " I have no doubt you will. You are brave and determined, and your bond with Toothless is unbreakable."

Hiccup: (Looking at Toothless and then at John) " You're right. This is more than a personal battle." (Smiling) " Thanks, John. Your words mean a lot. I'm going to prepare."

After this pep talk, Hiccup was ready

(Time Skip: the next day, moment before combate)

Hiccup was in a space behind the arena, where he was preparing for his confrontation against the Nightmare, the fearsome Monstrous Nightmare dragon. The atmosphere was charged with emotion and tension, but Hiccup tried to remain calm while he adjusted his clothes and Stoick was giving a speech and Ashild was approaching.

Stoick:" Well, I can show my face in public again."

There were Lauther and applause

Stoick:" If someone had told me that in a few short weeks, Hiccup would go from being, well... Hiccup, to placing first in dragon training... I would've tied him to a mast and shipped him off for fear he'd gone mad. Yes! And you know it! But here we are. And no one's more surprised..."

Hiccup was standing at the entrance to the ring, listening, looking burdened.

Stoick:" ... or more proud than I am. Today, my boy becomes a Viking. TODAY, HE BECOMES ONE OF US!"

There were CHEERS and ROARS.
