(A/N: This part will be pretty slow-paced.)
Walking along the gloomy main street, Kenzo surveyed the area, watching as a few pigeons sought shelter under an overhang.
Nearby, a tree struggled to stay rooted, as the fierce winds roared on blowing it about.
Pacing more quickly now, he passed by the Adventurers Guild, staring at the empty seemingly haunting building. Most of the employees were most likely home with their families and such.
He was actually a pretty well-known adventurer in these parts. Besides being presumably from Inazuma, Kenzo was a master in the art of combat, being able to take down Ruin Guards with ease. At Adventurer Rank 63, he was a highly respected individual, tasked with many "difficult" missions.
Felt sort of like a less extreme version of the things he did in his previous life. No assasination, torture, and those missions. Instead, though many called for the extermination of those hilichurls and such, most were very menial or trivial things, such as catching fowl, or delivering packages over short distances.
D-Rank, to say the least.
It was funny actually. No one really looked down at each other for the menial tasks that they were assigned, because no matter what rank they were, most did the same tasks.
As he continued on through the rain, Kenzo chuckled a bit, thinking of the many disgraceful missions he did in this life. If anyone from his previous life knew… Since he transmigrated, his personality had become a lot more mellow and relaxed..
Turning his head, Kenzo felt someone approaching him.
"Hmm…? Is that you, Kenzo?" Suddenly, from behind him, a lean figure stepped out of the shadows, umbrella in hand. She had the aura of an aristocrat, with a graceful and elegant demeanor. Possessing choopy short blue hair, beautiful, multicolored irises the woman wore a leotard complimented with a blue cape. A small light blue orb glowed at her side, and a huge claymore sat on her back. Eula Lawrence, the Spindrift Knight.
"Eula." Nodding, Kenzo swept aside his black bangs, rain dripping down the side of his face.
The two knew each other through a few missions, and the fact that Kenzo often worked with the Knight's Of Favonious. They could be counted as good acqauntinces, as they sparred with each other quite alot. Of course, Kenzo always won though…
"Why are you still out here?" She asked, pursing her lips.
"Hm? Well, I just sent Klee back. So I'm walking home…" Replying, Kenzo moved under an overhang, water thumping against the roof above.
"Is that so… You mean, you decided to ditch us again and go off alone." Rolling her eyes, Eula walked over. Kenzo stared at her, not knowing what to say. She continued on, speaking. "Why don't you join us?"
"Not really my thing…" Kenzo immediately said.
"Come on now, it would be much livelier if you were to attend…." Eula sighed, beckoning.
"Parties are not really my-"
"Ugh… Don't be such a gloom now! Cold days are better spent among friends then among the darkness…." Flipping her hair dramatically, Eula glared into Kenzo's eyes.
They stood there stubbornly for a few more moments, before Kenzo finally gave in. She reminded him too much of an old friend of his, outspoken and stubborn. It was really too much. So many people and things in this world gave him much unneeded nostalgia. He grudgingly nodded, and followed after her.
Seriously? After that depressingly cheesy inner monologue he had just a few minutes ago?
"Ugh…. Quite the drag this is." Kenzo complained.
"Would you please shut it? You're so dismal… Just like Rosaria."
"Can't help it. The rain reminds me of many… Unpleasant memories."
"Seems like you have quite the vengeance-filled past."
"Hm?"
"No, nothing. Apologies for digging a little too deep."
"Mh."
Ten Minutes Later…
"Ah, so you tried to ditch us… How sad…." A smooth male voice cut through the air, as Kenzo walked into the Library. Turning his head, he looked at the tall man before them. With long and messy blue hair coming down to his neck, and an eyepatch on his right eye. With a thick fur coat and a bottle of wine in hand, he smiled like a cat, patting Kenzo on the shoulder.
"Well Kaeya, I'm not exactly the sociable lot." Smirking slightly, Kenzo greeted Kaeya.
"Kenzo! Why did you leave!" Suddenly, a red bullet smashed into Kenzo. Klee pouted, looking at him.
"Ugh…." Scratching his head, Kenzo didn't know what to say.
The small girl dragged him downstairs, with Kaeya and Eula chuckling lightly.
"Oh! Well, well, well… Look who was kind enough to join us…" Smiling, Lisa also rolled her eyes.
She was a mature young woman with emerald green eyes and wavy light brown hair. Wearing a purple and white dress, the librarian waved at him, giggling.
Next to her, was a tall woman. She had quite the regal posture and possessed storm gray eyes and dirty blonde hair tied back in a ponytail. Wearing a casual blue coat, Jean, the Acting Grandmaster of the Knights Of Favonious nodded curtly.
And finally, Mondstadt's resident idol sat to the side, a bright and sunny smile on her face. A small teen she was, with ash blonde hair tied into pigtails and clear blue eyes. Barbara.
