After bidding Ranni and Rykard farewell and luck on stealing the a fragment of the Rune of Death from Maliketh, I had went with the dozen of Black Knife Assasins to kidnap Godwyn.
It took a while but we had to wait until he was going to a Dragon Temple that had been made in the Capital.
It was then when the Black Knife Assasins used a special Potions me and Ranni had long since created to easily subdue the Demigod.
We promptly took the route Rykard had pointed out on the map to get to the Deeproot Depths where The Crucible was located.
It was here where Godwyn will die.
We waited fro Ranni and Rykard to arrive but only Rykard arrived.
It seems Ranni had decided to prepare herself for the ritual and didn't want to get distracted I'd she had met me at such a crucial time.
I had given Rykard a watch and told him of the time the watch needs to reach, when ut does that is the exact moment the ritual will begin.
Ranni knows what the pocket watch is so she'll understand, since I had shown her it and explained much of my world and of Earth's technological wonders.
Before Rykard left he gave me some notes with images of the Rune of Death and the specific half of the Death Centipede I would etch onto Godwyn's back.
The Rune of Death/Destined Death appears in the form of a Centipede eating itself.
Half of the Centipede represents the destruction of the physical state while the other half focuses of the non-physical. This can include metaphysical concepts and the spiritual self, thereby bypassing all defenses to destroy everything that is not of the physical state.
Ranni would etch the physical representation of the Death Centipede on her back while I etch the Non-physical half of the Death Centipede onto Godwyn's back.
Thereby transferring only half of the desired effect onto each individual, allowing Ranni's spirit to survive and possess the body I had made for her.
(A/n new body in images auxiliary chapter)
This new body had elements from my world in it so when Ranni comes with me to the other world, she will be able to cultivate and gain strength as one normally would be able to.
At the appointed time, I began to carve the spiritual half of the Death Centipede onto Godwyn's back as the Black Knife Assasins held him down.
I held the Black Knife in my hand ready to kill Godwyn with it, courtesy of Rykard.
Ranni had made the Rune of Death into the form of these Black Knives that the Black Knife Assasins would be infamous for wielding.
These Black Knives carried a mere fragment of the Rune of Death but regardless, it still contained the power of the full Destined Death.
I looked at the watch and waited two minutes until the next agreed time had come.
When it did I stabbed the Black Knife deep into the heart of Godwyn through his back.
He let out a scream through his gagged mouth before his eyes went Hollow and lifeless and his body motionless.
Godwyn was still alive since a Demigod can't be killed so easily as a stab to the heart.
No, his soul, his spirit was erased leaving nothing but a soulless, lifeless, emotionless, yet still alive corpse of Godwyn the Golden.
After "killing" Godwyn in spirit, I then etched the other half of the Death Centipede onto his back, completing the circle.
I then pierced the Black Knife through his heart, "killing" him in body as well as spirit.
This would ensure that he dies here and now and prevents Godwyn's alive corpse to spread the Deathroot disease across the Lands Between.
Like how Fia in the game had wanted, I had permanently killed Godwyn.
His body steadily began to decay and crumble away, leaving only the corpse's main skeletal structure with lots of damaged, decayed and dead skin and flesh. There was some gold hair left on the scalp of the head, but lost of it had withered away like the body.
I left and went to meet up at the rendezvous point with Ranni.
Going to the Moonlight Alter I found Ranni waiting there in the artificial body I had created for her.
She wanted a new body entirely since she didn't like her old one because of it being of Empyreon flesh, something that would remind her of the Two Fingers and the Greater Will's hold over her, but now no longer.
Thus she has a doll body with black hair, something to show that she was free of their control and was related to me.
Since I have white hair she has the opposite and possess black hair.
A concept of Ying and Yang, duality and opposition which she grown interested in when I told her about it.
"Everything had gone well?" I asked to her as she sat motionless on the stone table within the Moonlight Alter's cathedral.
A few moments later she "woke up" and looked at me.
"..."
"Are you unable to speak in this new body?" I asked and she nodded in reply.
"Don't worry, there is no need for words. You will adapt to the change. At least for the time being. I will give you a proper body one day."
Ranni had initially refused my request for her to have an new organic body like Malenia, Miquella and the Blind Swordsman had been given by me.
As for why?
She didn't give a reason, only showed her discomfort of it.
Thus, I didn't press the matter, but I did make it known that I would make a perfect organic body for her one day by changing the structure of her current doll body to change from being artificially organic to fully organic.
************
Less than a few months later did Marika shatter the Elden Ring.
Meanwhile, Queen Rennala had fallen into despair having thought Ranni had committed suicide.
This lead to a 2nd Civil War, the first one had occurred shortly after Radagon left Rennala to marry Marika.
Rennala was overthrow and imprisoned in the Academy of Rya Lucaria as she clutched The Unborn in her hands.
Thus, began the events of the Shattering.
Radahn had frozen the stars to ensure his victory, since he himself is still apart of the Carrion Royal Family being Rennala's son.
Thus, his fate was bound in the constellations of the stars.
He had also done this to display his power before all during this time of chaos showing that he had at last conquered the stars, though he only accomplished this thanks to his Great Rune he had recently obtained.
The events after that had been quite chaotic with the mysterious absence of Queen Marika.
The Sovereign Alliance breaks apart.
The first defense of Lyndell occurred and Godrick flees to Stormveil Castle.
Radahn attacks Godrick in Stormveil.
Godrick would survive because of the mercy of Radahn being the honorable warrior he was.
Radahn would March his forces towards Lyndell leading to the second defense of Lyndell occurring.
Morgott in his hidden persona as Margit, the Fell Omen had defeated Radahn in a humiliating manner and in single combat forcing Radahn's forces to retreat.
Lyndell's forces had assaulted Mt.Gelmir, but Rykard defended his territory from the invading army.
During this time Malenia also began her campaign and marched her forces from the Haligtree towards Radahn's own Territory in Aeonia.
Along the way she encountered Godrick in Stormveil who had insulted her.
Unlike the original timeline where Malenia would have spared Godrick if he gravelled for forgiveness, Malenia killed Godrick and took his Great Rune to present to me upon her return to the Haligtree.
While Malenia marched towards Radahn in Aeonia, Mohg had arrived at the Haligtree as predicted in his attempt to kidnap Miquella while he was unguarded and since Malenia was away from the Haligtree, this was Mohg's only opportunity.
But I had been prepared for this and informed Miquella about Mohg.
The result was a easy trap that lured in Mohg to a place where Miquella had laid all sorts of traps be they Magical or physical.
The end result was the death of Mohg.
As for Malenia, she had defeated Radahn in a crushing victory. This was because of multiple of reasons.
One was because she had a perfect body which didn't limit her growth and potential.
Second was she no longer needed to focus on other things and could devote herself entirely to learning from her master, the Blind Swordsman. Thus, her battle prowess skyrocketed.
Third, was something she already possessed. She is Malenia, the Blade of Miquella.
No seriously!
Her pride is one of the reasons why she won.
She did not hold back, she didn't care if it was honorable or not, she was fighting to represent Miquella and his pride was also at stake.
And so she was able to not hold back unlike the ever so honorable Radahn and she held true to her namesake.
She "had never known defeat" because in the game the events of the battle were a tie, neither won nor lost as she says in game. But now in reality, she had officially won.
Malenia claimed Radahn's Great Rune and I immediately went to Limbgrave where the stars had fallen sfter being free because of Radahn's death.
I travelled deep underground and into the Eternal City of Nokron, ignoring any obstacle and immediately locating the Fingerslayer Blade.
I teleported to Ranni and gave her the Fingerslayer Blade since only those with Fate can wield the blade and use it whereas I cannot, at least not my [Shadow Copy] body, but my real body could use it most likely.
Ranni had used the Fingerslayer Blade to slay her Two Fingers which she had captured and imprisoned deep below the Moonlight Alter.
After that I left Ranni to deal with the remaining issues.
I had subdued and imprisoned Blaidd because he had lost control of his senses because of the "Execute Order 66" in his head to kill Ranni at all costs by orders of the Greater Will and the Two Fingers.
As for Rykard, I had been observing him to see if he would let the God Devouring Serpant devour him.
Turns out that he didn't let it and actually killed the snake.
Although because its an Outer God entity, it was Immortal so Rykard imprisoned it and sealed it away.
I guess my persuasion worked.
I'll see what he does with the Great Rune he has until later.
As for Morgott, I had placed a curse on him during my time at Lyndell before the Night of the Black Knives when I secretly visited him in the dungeons.
I simply activated the Curse and it killed Morgott allowing me to easily claim his Great Rune.
A month passed since then and it was to my suprise that Rykard had given Ranni his Great Rune as a gift.
Ranni, in turn, gave the Great Rune to me.
Thus I now have all the Great Runes in my possession, including the Rune of the Unborn I had easily taken from Rennala after Ranni put her into a deep sleep.
I gave Ranni the Great Rune of the Unborn to use on Rennala in conjunction with all the other Great Runes currently in my possession to remake Rennala's mind.
In essence, Ranni had rebirthed Rennala's mind, thereby curing her from her vegetative depressed state.
Ranni had revealed she was still alive to Rennala and about her suicide doll body plan.
The last but of business we all took care of was that we went to Selivus to have him make his doll controlling concoction.
It took a hundred years even with the combined efforts of Ranni, Rennala, Miquella and myself helping in, this was necessary and I refused to fight Radagon and the Elden Beast without this.
Now that I have the Puppet Potion and every Great Rune in my possession. Although, I did lend each of my allies a Great Rune to use for the upcoming battle.
Malenia, Blade of Miquella - Malenia's Great Rune
Miquella, the Unalloyed - Morgott's Great Rune
Ranni, Lunar Princess - Great Rune of the Unborn
Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon - Radahn's Great Rune
Praetor Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy - Rykard's Great Rune
The Archdragons Fortissax and Lansseax had also joined us as I was able to lie and convince them I was an ally of Godwyn's before he died because of the grand and secret plot of Marika, when it was actually me and Ranni all along that had killed Godwyn.
As for myself, I had Mohg's Great Rune and Godrick's Great Rune, the latter raises all attributes allowing for me to raise my power while in this world to the same level as the other Demigod Great Rune bearers. Whereas, Mohg's Great Rune enhances my Blood Companion Summons to also be as strong as I am making me have a far greater Battle Prowess.
I am now confident that I could defeat Rykard and Rennala.
However, the triple Empyreons, Ranni, Malenia and Miquella was not guaranteed.
Their power is still in their prime, in fact they are at the pinicle of their power. The only thing that is preventing them from being a God is the unknown process that the Two Fingers and Greater Will did to elevate the Dragon God and Marika to Godhood.
5 Demigods with a Great Rune each.
Myself and my Blood Companions with 2 Great Runes.
The Two Archdragon siblings.
I am now confident.
And so we all awaited outside of Maliketh's Boss Room within Crumbling Faram Azula.
Time to take Destined Death and become Elden Lord.
