12. Setting the Wheels in Motion

Man!! This is awkward.

I slowly took a bottle which was on my sight and opened the bottle to drink it.

"PFFFF!! BLEH!!" bruh what's this?! what did I just drink?? It tastes like mud mixed with chili and onions!!

"Did you drink something from the red bottle?" Dain shouted as he was the one driving the wagon.

"Yes!! He drank it!" Monica shouted.

"Is this poison??!" I shouted as I was feeling like I am gonna puke my internal organs!

"NO! it's not!" Dain shouted as I was relieved? Wait I don't feel any relief instead I feel like my mouth is burning!! I can't feel it!! "AAAAKKKK"

"You know something? The thing you just drank is worse than poison. It is the juice from the roots of a tree that was growing on something you should never imagine."

"It's not something you have to explain so calmly bastard!! Now I am about to die!!" I shouted falling on the floor of the wagon.

"Dain you have to stop the wagon now. I think he is really gonna die!" Mona shouted slowly walking towards the window.

"Ok. Let's camp here. I think it's a perfect place to cook." Dain slowed down the wagon.

"Damn!!" I took the water bottle and jumped out of the wagon as fast as I could.

"AAAAAHHH" I started to clean my mouth as the tears were rushing from my eyes. I kept two fingers on my tongue and started rubbing it as fast as I could. I should have drunk poison instead, atleast I would have been treated by a doctor. Now I really want to scrub my tongue to a rock damn!!

After I relieved 20% or maybe 2% of that damn taste (realizing that if I rub too much, I may lose my tongue) I slowly walked towards Dain and Monica.

All I wanted was to drink something as I was nervous sitting alone with Monica who was glaring at me constantly.

As I reached them, they were already cooking while chatting and laughing together. Man! They remind me of my childhood- Wait!!! Is Monica laughing?? When did Dain achieve something that's impossible?

"So how are you feeling?" Dain asked me as soon as he noticed me.

With a purple face I showed him my thumb as my mouth was numb. "Don't worry, I am cooking something spicey so that the taste would fade and you can go back to your normal sel-!!!! Why are you crying!!"

He…he…. He is such a good friend; he is caring me so much. Wait wait!! Because of that bastard I drank that thing in the first place!!

"AAH what are you? A child? You seem happy for a moment and angry another moment." Monica blabbered while cutting the vegetables.

"Hump" I sat on the floor angrily.

After setting up the table Dain rushed towards his horse and brushed its hair with a comb and then took out the hay from the wagon and started feeding it. "Here eat it Doba." He smiled at his horse while Doba was slowing eating.

Man, he cares so much about his horse. Now I want to feed it too but I am too afraid to go near it. It was a brown furry horse which was bigger than the once I saw in movies or videos and the horse that I rode in the <TEST>. I don't know any horse breeds to compare it to but as far as I know it was big!

After some time Dain signaled me to come as soon as he finished cooking. "HAAA now I feel relieved." I shouted as soon as the spice reached my tongue.

"Good for you." Dain smiled.

Haaa what a sight. Sitting beside beautiful fields in the open and having lunch with my friends…. It feels like a dream come true. I would have never imagined this in my life.

The fields here are so beautiful, the fruits that look ripen are being eaten by different kinds of colorful birds on the top of everything the food I am now eating tastes so good. This is heaven!! If this is a dream I never would like to wake up. Reality is always the worst.

"Where did u even learn to cook like this Dain?" Monica asked Dain as she was chewing with hearts in her eyes.

"Yeah, this tastes something that descended from heaven!!" I gave him a complement.

"Of course I am a merchant who travels many places I have many masters in different parts of this Kingdome" Dain replied with a long smile.

"Hey Dain, so you are a merchant, right?"

"Yes! I am a merchant and a high-class merchant on the top of that!" Dain shouted with a huge smile and a proud face.

"So… you have a basic knowledge in every aspect, right?" I asked him doubtfully.

"Yes, I have knowledge on every knowledge- wait what do you need now?" he suddenly made a creepy glare at me.

"It's nothing, really." I waved my hand.

"Is just that, I want to know what are the unseasonal fruits that are rarely found here?" I asked with a curious face. Man acting curious is hard. Anyway, this is the good opportunity to execute my plan.

"Unseasonal fruits?" Dain tilted his face with question marks in his eyes.

"Yes, like you know some fruits or vegetables only grow in a particular season but sometimes also grow in other seasons but in very less quantity." I explained to Dain.

"That's easy as you know that this is the end of summer normally the seasonal fruits would be the juicy ones like the Rupberry, Oraro, Mel melon and so on. The unseasonal fruits would be Ralp, Pargo and other fruits that normally grow in winter." Dain explained.

"So do you think we can get some of the fruits here?" I asked Dain.

"I think we can get them some if we ask every farmer in this region."

"But how? They should have already cut those plants and would have planted the plants of the seasonal fruits?" Yeah, as far as I know that's how farming works, right?

"Hahahaha, are you asking me this really??" Dain started laughing.

"???" I don't understand why he is laughing.

"Dude really?? Have you been spending too many days in your house?" Dain asked me doubtfully.

"…" I was in my home for nearly ninety percent of my life but I can't tell him that. Did the farming methods change that much? I mean it was not really explained how farming is done in that #TRASH NOVEL#.

"…. Ok let me explain. Our Kingdome is not small it may not be the biggest Kingdome or an empire but it's still big. So, farmers in our area normally make their land into four parts and grow crops according to the season. They just take more care on the seasonal plants while the other plants are just watered." Dain detailed me every single thing.

"So… they don't cut or burn the previous plants?" Dain nodded to my question.

That's something new! It's been a while since I learned something new after dropping out of my university. And I think Dain is a good professor than the professors in my university.

"Why did you ask this anyway?" Dain questioned as he was about to keep his food in his mouth.

"I want money."

"PFFFFF" Dain spitted everything in his mouth as soon as he heard my answer.

"You want to become a farmer?!! You can't earn that much money in less than a month!!" Dain shouted on his full volume as I covered my ears.

"What?!" he is misunderstanding in the worst possible way. "First let's eat I'll explain it to you later."

After we all finished eating Dain started to continuously staring at me like a curious dog waiting to dig the ground. I slowly explained him my plan.

"Still, you can't earn that much money with your plan." Dain started worrying.

"If the circumstances favor us, we can earn more money." I patted on his shoulder.

I feel sorry for making him worry by telling him only half of my plan but still it's too risky. If I can earn extra money, I have to buy an armor for everyone.

Now that I think about it, I was never worried about money in my life as my parents were rich, they just filled my bank account with ten zeros after one. What I was worried about was getting killed in bathroom.

Imagine that one day you are bathing and an assassin suddenly bursting in. when you try to run you will slip because of the soap and fall, and when you try to stand you slip again and fall while the assassin slits your throat like a goat ready to get fried.

"Ok! we are ready to move, get in you two." Dain shouted as soon as he packed everything.

"Ok!" Monica shouted and jumped into the wagon.

"Don't see me like that!! I want to get some cool breeze too!!" I shouted as Dain was looking at me doubtfully as I sat beside him on the rider's seat.

"Ok young lord."

"Don't you dare call me thaaaaaaaaaattt!!" he started the wagon in full speed.

"Why so fast!!!" I shouted as I was holding my dear life to the seat.

"You said just now that you want to get some cool breeze!"

"Bastard!!!! Curse you!!" I shouted as Dain smiled.

"Anyway, do you really think that your plan will work?" Dain directly got into the topic. " I can ask the merchant guild to loan you the money."

"Are you kidding me!!? You will ask the merchant guild??" I shouted angrily.

"Why? What's wrong with that?" Dain asked me.

"What is the goal for every merchant?" I questioned.

"Umm… to become the richest person?" Dain answered.

"Then do you think that they will leave me after I take the loan? No! they will squeeze everything out of me and my family!!" Dain became silent after hearing my answer.

My goal is not money. My goal is to survive! Either it may be here which is a dream or whatever or there.

"!!!" Dain suddenly stopped the wagon.

Damn!! I nearly lost my grip!! It would have been embarrassing if I fell down.

"Why did you stop suddenly?" I asked Dain.

"I think it's time to execute your plan!" Dain said jumping down from his seat.
